Do not use this vet. Her staff is rude and pompous. They are inflexible in scheduling appointments for owners who work, they are never on time, the fees are exorbitant and the vet herself and her assistants treat owners like they are

Would NOT recommend. Did not vaccinate for lepto spirosis. Killed a perfectly healthy 2 year old dog who took one vacation to vermont and drank a puddle there. Her reason? Lepto spirosis is not common in NJ. She should at least give

I have been taking my dog and cat to Dr. Katz for 4 years. I love that she is very conservative in her treatment recommendations. She doesn't rush into doing things "just to do it". \r

Very warm practice and a caring staff that makes you feel confident that your pet is getting the very best. I can't think of a better place that I have been this happy with the care that my pet has received. There has been no misguidance in treating my pets and I trust the staff 100%. They have my vote as the best ever. Kudos to Dr. Katz and her staff!

Pros: Compassionate caring vet and knowledgable staff

Dr. Katz is the more caring vet I have ever seen. Super intelligent too. She found a small tumor in Snoopy that amazed the surgeon -- he had no idea how she find out. Truly saved his life. Thorough, dilligent, caring, and easy to talk to. Clear that animals are her passion and life's calling. So different from other places in Montclair, where they treat it as a business. This is about the animals.
Also, before going I shopped around and price compared. I have no idea what these other folks are talking about. Her spay and neuter prices were within $5 of the other vets and she offered more things like blood-work and pain pills the others didn't. No clue what you guys are talking about.
She's a pro. Only go to her if you want a compassionate vet who really cares. If you are happy with low-quality care in old-shappy practices that haven't been updated, painted or scrubbed down in 30+ years with vets who are older than grandpa then, definitely, go elsewhere.

Dr. Katz is a warm, compassionate, skilled veterinarian who makes herself available to her clients. She spends plenty of time with each animal, and her prices are in line with other private veterinary hospitals in the area. Her staff are wonderful and competent, and the office is clean and organized. The office dog, Sarge, adds a friendly touch to the practice. Would highly recommend this vet!

Way too expensive... spent $800 getting my cat fixed and teeth clean and some other "medical issues" that were found since then i have had to spend another $400 on problems that have started only after the surgery was done yet i'm suppose to believe its a coincidence even the the problem is in the same area. i have to keep paying for the "re-check-ups" and the different medicines they keep prescibing that have done nothing to help the problems just make my cat drugged up.
i should have taken the hint when their own employees commented on how over priced the vet is. If anyone knows of a good vet that i can take my cat to to get better please let me know.
