When I have to stuff my sons Christmas stocking, I search high and low for little treats to fit inside. This journey took me to a local, privately-owned toy and collectibles shop, Jumbleiah. On the main street in Allendale, Jumbleiah is a shop that features interesting and unique collectibles as well as educational toys.

I was attracted to the sports memorabilia in cases--signed baseballs, plaques, jerseys. They have a fantastic collection that would please any collector.

The store has trading cards (sports and fantasy-themed), "penny" candy items (that cost more than a penny but still!), plush toys, comic books, and specialty books (by Klutz), such as "How to" perform magic.

I didn't have to hunt too hard to find unique stocking stuffers for my pre-teen son. The owners are so friendly and let me browse without rushing me. I have since returned to this shop many times and highly recommend it for those in search of cool toys and phenomenal collectibles.

PROS: Unique collectibles and memorabilia
CONS:

You cannot beat the service at this family owned store. If you are looking for any sort of memorabilia they can get it for you. If they don't have it in the store they'll track it down for you. They also have tons of other stuff..gift cards, games, toys, stuffed animals, comic books. I could go on and on. Once you come in here you won't be able to leave for awhile because you'll probably want to check out everything in the store and have a chat with the owners.

Jumbleiah is a collectible's shop that specializes in sports cards and memorbellia, but they also carry other little knick-knacks such as stuffed toys, board games, greeting cards... and COMIC BOOKS! This was the reason I was interested in the store in the first place.

It's not like other comic book stores where all the comics are stored carefully. Everything is bagged but either shoved in a box or on the rack. It would be like going to a corner store picking up a magazine and rolling the dice to see if you can find one in good condition. That's the negative.

The positive is that all issues, regardless if it's old or new, are still cover price. All the back issues are never marked up so you can find some gems for cheap.

This is a "Mom & Pop"-run store, and they are friendly people, always making small talk with you.

PROS: Friendly people, can find some deals
CONS: Store is cluttered and hard to move around
