I would recommend staying away from The Racquets Club of Short Hills, there are other better clubs in the area. I have been invited there a number of time and most recently last week to give it one more try as I heard they were trying to clean the place up and had made several improvements. I still find the club to be filthy, from the gym and broken equipment, the locker room with mold to the kitchen where I wouldnt eat a meal if my life depended on it, as it just might. I raised all these issues with Management and having them acknowledge all of the issues and even went as far as saying that they have had others complaint about the same thing I was told from an employee that they dont care and have no real intentions on cleaning the place up. From a club that is desperate for members you would think they would do a better job, time for a management change.

I would not recommend the Racquets Club at all. While there have been some recent attempts at improvements it is not worth the dues and is poorly managed by the Board.

The Racquets Club of Short Hills is a family social and sports club and is not a 'fitness facility' as depicted in other reviews. The restaurant, paddle courts, squash, tennis courts and pool are open to members, who pay dues throughout the year. The club's dues are moderate as compared to nearby clubs with similar facilities. Activities include swim team for children, tennis and paddle clinics for all ages and a restaurant facility for dining and special events. The club is located across the green from the Short Hills train station and is on the site of the original Hartshorn commissioned 'Short Hills Casino'--the heart of the old Short Hills development from the 1880s.

OK place to work out. Not the friendliest staff, but the place is clean and the equipment is in good shape. Good for millburn or springfield residents because of the close location.

The Racquet Club of Short Hills has a wonderful racquetball court, tennis court, and swimming pool. The lifeguards are cautious, and safety is never an issue here. The club is kept impeccably clean. The only problem: the price. This club is not for the usual fitness goer-- indeed, you do have to be in another league money-wise to become a member of the Racquet Club. But if you have the money, it's a great place to work out or just socialize on a Sunday afternoon!
