The store is ok but the owner Jill is unethical and shady. If your a craftsperson you will not want to do business with this lady. I have been making and selling tye-dye t-shirts for over 25 yrs. She bought some shirts, then she asked me to make a dozen shirts w/ specific patterns and colors, so I then bought the dye and made the shirts, I went to see her with the shirts and she didn't even look at them and just said " right after you left last time I realized I didnt need any". She had my cell phone and never contacted me. This is unethical and shady business practice, the shop should be shut down. She also pays the least of any stores that I have sold to. Try somewhere else in New Hope for similar items.

The shop looks nice enough, but the problem (as noted by other reviewers) is the owner, Jill. "Shop the World" claims to be fair trade. This is very important when buying jewellery, textile, and art from developing countries. This is also something that is hard to verify as a consumer and requires trust in the proprietor -- trust that she does indeed pay a fair price for her fare and deals with reputable distributors. I will never trust Jill and neither should you. In what I have seen of the way she conducts business (albeit as a landlord, I must note, not a shop owner), she does so in the shadiest, most disreputable way. She is untrustworthy from my experience, and a jerk from the experience of another reviewer here. That is a deal breaker when it comes to a supposedly "fair trade" store.

the shop is nice, great spiritual stuff, tends to focus on Hindu, Chakra, incense and free trade stuff. I'd like to see more clothes in smaller sizes though. And books.

My biggest problem with the store is the owner - Jill. Thankfully we don't see her too often, but she seems to care very little for her employees and gives them a hard time. I've seen her brow beat a girl for having the register a dollar off, for like 5 minutes, and then fired her, on the poor girls birthday. She went home in tears. That's not cool.

Salty Dog is a great little gift shop. It has eveything from sweaters to jewelry to bags to hats and gloves. I just bought a tye-dye shirt from there! It's the best I've ever seen!

The store is small and inviting. The staff is friendly and give great gift advice. I loved looking at the interesting and unique gift items. The cards are also very cute. The prices are reasonable.

This is a cute little gift shop located in Princeton, NJ. The building itself is well maintained and adorable looking. Parking is a bit of a problem as it is with most stores in Princeton. You can park on the street or one of the nearby lots if you can find a spot. This store contains all sorts of unique gift items. Prices are average for the area. Staff is friendly and willing to help you find that perfect gift.
