I have been taking our dogs here for years. Dr. Lee Spector is wonderful. He diagnosed our poodle with addisons on the first visit after we had taken her to 2 other vets before him. He is knowledgeable, professional and very kind. The staff is also terrific. I would definitely recommend this practice. They have been a God send for our dogs.

DO NOT GO NEAR THIS VET. YOUR ANIMAL COULD BE KILLED FROM NEGLIGENCE AND LACK OF UP TO DATE VETERINARY PRACTICES!

My experience with Gray Fox Animal Hospital has been absolutely appalling. Having animals for many decades now and dealing with multitudes of veterinarians, I have to say I was astounded at how much this vet was concerned with making money and not concerned with staying up to date on current veterinary practices and knowledge and providing the best care to my animals.

After a long (and extremely expensive) series of testing done on my cat, Dr. Bernadette prescribed my animal an archaeic medicine (not to mention was still unsure what the root of the problem was). After speaking with numerous other veternarians and doing some online research, I found the medicine she gave us has studies EVERYWHERE that say you should NEVER prescribe this medication to a cat. If she was up to date on her veterinary knowledge, she would have known this. It gets worse. Dr. Bernadette told us to give her FOUR PILLS PER DAY-- my cat overdosed on ONE! I have never seen my cat in a worse state, she literally was hallucinating, panicky, restless, and was unable to sleep or relax in any way. We had to stay up with her all night for several nights until the mediction worked out of her system.

Once I reported this to the doctor as well as the research I found, I was immediately dismissed and put down verbally by Dr. Bernadette. This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Dr. Bernadette may like animals, but it's clear she is WAY behind in up to date veterinary practices and has no desire to acknowledge or rectify her shortcomings.

Good thing I did not listen to the bad reviews below and I caution you to listen to these as well. Glad I got out of the service business because people complain too darn much. Such as the woman who wanted a free visit because they sent her to Penn. Heck lady, I paid over 300 for an emergency visit at Clementon and then had to go to Penn. It is a business you know.

I had the best experience with this place! Heard for many years about their experience with my breed and with our newest companion was able to get him here for an initial check and 2nd and 3rd visit for a serious issue.

The staff was fantastic and friendly. I did not wait long. Met both Spectors, who I can not say enough about. They live up to a good reputation. Each did not rush me through and took a good amount of time and answered all my questions. Overall great experience.

I'd give them 5 stars if they would have had free coffee for owners, but nobody is perfect. Just kidding. I think it was about 40 for the visit, which people tell me is high compared to others. Do not quote me on the price. For the experience and knowledge of my breed it is well worth the money. I hope my future experiences are as good as my first few.

I will never step foot in that place again. I agree with the other review most of the doctors there are impersonal and have horrible bed side manner , the only good doctor is Dr.Sierra

The incompetence is with the rest of the staff, blame is tossed around everywhere, managers are never available to talk to.

Today I was just over charged after verifying the bill last night. I was given the wrong medications and missing prescriptions. I call back to try to straighten it out and given excuse after excuse and that there is no one there in charge and they arent allowed to call anyone at home.....

Well if the management cant be bothered to take a phone call at home because they are too lazy to be in the office. Then I will take my business elsewhere.

There are hundreds of good vets in the south jersey area. This is not one of them, if you love your pet take them somewhere else.

Never again will I take ANY of my pets back to this place! I had seen 2 of the three vets in the past couple of weeks, both the females, and they were just RUDE. They talked down to us and were mean for no reason. There are many instances of this, but the last straw happend just a few days ago. I took my male dog in because after coming home from vacation, I found him acting funny like he was in pain, so I made an appointment for him early the next day. I got there and was asked if i knew of any medical conditions he might have and i said no, hes a VERY healthy dog, and the only thing that i can think of is that he has allergies. After a short examination, the vet said she was going to draw blood and perform a test. After drawing the blood she said the test would take 8 mins to complete, we sat in the room for *45* minutes waiting for her to return! and when she came back she told me that she had no idea what was wrong with him, but she could tell me he had allergies!!!!!!!!! my jaw dropped, and dropped even farther when i was charged 219 dollars for a pointless visit! After telling my friends of my visit, it seemed that every pet owner i know had an equally horrible experience with Gray Fox Animal Hospital as well and will never go back! After that I vowed i will never do business with them ever again. On a side note I am going to school to become a Vet Tech, so each visit I would take notice to see if they practiced what I had learned was the proper way to do things. On one visit alone I witnessed them make THREE mistakes that could have cause me or my animal harm and would have resulted in a lawsuit. What the hell gray fox??!!?

I have been taking my animals to Gray Fox since 1987 when we moved here from Central PA. I have seen every Dr. in there. Everyone has their favorites. Some deal better with cats, others with dogs. You just have to talk to the Drs. and Technicians to find this out. As with any Drs. office you usually wait about 15 minutes extra when you get there. I have had 1 dog and 1 cat put down in their office. I have also had a cat who had to be rushed to the emergency room for fluid around her heart. I did a follow up visit with Dr. Lee and he explained everything to me in detail. He told me that she would only be with us a week and he just tried to make her comfortable. I was very pleased with the service he provided during her condition. My Pomeranian at 2 years old had to have reconstructive knee surgery due to a birth defect. Any other vet would have told us they'd do the surgery and it would cost us way too much money. He explained step by step what needed to be done, but that he was not the one who should do it. He could, but recommended another more qualified surgeon. I was pleased he was up front and honest. I have taken many other animals there in the past and have never had a problem. I would, and have, recommended this office to anyone looking for a great animal hospital.

I had been taking my dogs to the Spectors & other vets at Gray Fox all my life. A few years ago I moved to Swedesboro & started using another vet. I had such a terrible experience that now I drive almost 45 minutes just to bring my dogs to Gray Fox. They are always compassionate and they are very knowledgable & patient. My dog can be a handful and Dr. Lee Spector is excellent with her. I would recommend this vet to other people.

I have been taking my cat(my baby) to grayfox since she was 8wks old her name was T.J.we saw Dr.B.Tj liked her,as did I.once we had to see her husband, spector, tj did not like him and let it be known.,so we always would request Dr. B./ Never gave me a reason to not trust her.Until a month or two ago.. Tj had to be put to rest today, not by them, but by a caring, loving, compassionate vet.Tj caught toxoplasmosis, approximatley 5yrs ago.we spent whatever we had to to get it under control, knowing it is a parasite she will always carry.OK, I know cats dont belong outside but she ended up being out and that is my fault.I took her to dr.b because tj was drooling, it smelled like and absessed tooth.we got there, and she opened her mouth and said, (strike one)OH MY GOD, did you see what is under her tounge.Well, it was a lump. asked what it was, cancer or an allergic reaction. She took blood work and Iwas shocked at the cost when I went to pay.Almost 200.00.She called me wed, with the results,I just came home from burrying my last uncle alive and asked her to please repeat that (I was writing things down)and just returned from a funeral.WELL, I shouldn't even talk to you right now,(strike 2).asked to have copy of blood sent to me, she said her toxo was flaring up.Not true at all. went the next day, knowing after going online what it was. When we walked in, very snarky she says, so did you enjoy reading my notes?and proceeded to read them to me.I noticed tj's neck was shaved and mentioned it , she responded, yes we did that that is how we draw blood so we dont have to keep poking. ok fine, should have let me know. Anyway, she gave tj a steroid shot, and said she needed 7bottles of clindamyacin.@22dollars a bottle.Got it elsewhere.Long story short. Tj had cancer.and she had to know this. Squamouscell carcinoma feline sublingual.. Had a 2nd opinion, this vet said when I asked if this is something you can look at and tell its cancer, absolutley. Very aggressive, and eventually she will not be able to eat the dry food, then wet goes, then water. Gray fox has not called me to see why I never came back, or to see how tj is.Because they do not care.I put my trust and faith into them for 14yrs, and at the end of my cat's life you are going to lie to me, and nickle and dime me to death. They should be put out of business.Pleassse do not take your babies there. As I said I always loved them also. But the truth is now known.May my baby rest in peace I miss her soo much. If you want to go there, and your pet should get sick, please at least get a 2nd opinion. I would be escorted by the police if I went in there. Just stay away, Gray Fox, fits them. SLICK AND SLY... How do they sleep at night.Looking back at all of our appointments, it is evident we were rushed, treated like a number, and never got a true thorough answer ... THEY ARE MEAN EVIL PEOPLE .. God bless and reconscider taking your pets there for the love of God..

I have had about 4 cats and 2 dogs seen at Gray Fox over the years. I have always had very helpful and friendly visits when seeing the female doctors and in the past (many, many years ago) with Dr. Lee Spector too. But something has changed there. When I was 7 months pregnant I was finally forced to put my 16 year old fox terrier/ collie mix down. She was extremely arthritic, blind and her teeth were massively infected due to old age. I didn't want to let her go, she was my baby but I knew she was in pain. The day I took her in to be humanely put down, I was forced to wait for over an hour, believe me what was happening was hard enough. When I finally got into the room with her, the doctor was cold and very uncaring towards me. When they gave her the medicine (the nurse said it burns going in) she yelped and tried to bite b/c it obviously hurt her. She was blind at this point and just kind of snapped in the air. Dr. Spector said to me in a very nasty tone "You'd better not let that dog bite you, or I'll have to cut off her head and send it for testing." I know yes he really would be required to do this b/c of rabies precautions and everything but come on you don't have to say it so insensitively to a crying, blubbering very pregnant lady putting her childhood dog to sleep. Have some feelings!! He was just being cruel. So if you are looking for a warm and fuzzy veterinarian who cares about people's emotional attachments to their pets, don't see Dr. Lee Spector at Gray Fox Animal Hospital.

I have nothing bad to say about the Doctors and staff at Gray Fox Animal Hospital in Woodbury Heights. Ive only been taking my two dogs and cat there for about 5 or 6 years but i know from past experiences with other vets i'll never be able to find another vet as good. You'll never meet more caring people than the doctors and techs at Gray Fox Animal Hospital. I must say most of you, espically the one posted below me, have to realize a Vet is just as good as a human doctor. You show up without an appointment or show up with two dogs instead of the one you had an actual appointment for you should be charged extra. Is that wrong? Is it wrong that they expect you to pay for the doctors time? Would you show up for a doctor appointment thats scheduled for your daughter and decide to bring along her brother because he has an ear infection? No you probably wouldnt, or you'd at least phone ahead to see if they could squeeze in another appointment. If not Thats just plain rude and shows NO respect. And to be angry because you were charged extra for that pet that did NOT have a scheduled appointment shows ignorance. While i have no complaints about U of Penn if you think about it, if you were to call there today would they even know your name? Could they possibly remember your pets from memory or would you just be another random face with a random dog out of the thousands appointments they see a day? Your NOT just another nameless face when you go into Gray Fox they actually take the time to get to know you. I LOVE Gray Fox Animal Hospital for having the most reasonable prices, most caring staff, and convient hours.

I have been bringing my "kids" to Gray Fox for over 10 yrs. Recently I almost lost my 13 1/2 year old dog due to a heart-block. Dr. Spector diagnosed her in November of 08, said she was a "miracle" and was better in December, just for her to have to be rushed to the U of Penn to have a pacemaker implanted three wks ago today. My one dog had an appointment at Gray Fox on 3/11/09. We brought our other dog with us due to her episodes of collapse that morning. We never got around to having my one dog examined due to the condition of my older dog. I was charged for an office visit when all the doctor did that day was take her pulse and tell my husband and I to rush her to the U of Penn. I was told today that I should have been charged an emergency fee on top of the $39.00 office visit. The office manager also had the audacity to tell me that THEY saved her life that day...when in fact the wonderful staff at the U of Penn saved her life. I have paid Gray Fox well over $600 in the past five months for misdiagnoses. The lack of compassion is evident when I was billed for 2 minutes of the doctor's time, in an effort to save my dog's life. I will NEVER go back there again. I recommend the U of Penn to any and all animal lovers!!!

My two dogs were breaking out with an allergic reaction. I made an appt for one and brought the other for the ride...they do everything together. He was prescribed antibiotics. I asked if my other dog could be prescribed as well because he had the same issue. They said we would need to see him and there would be additional charges to see him. I was hesitant because my bill was already up to $200 for one dog! But I wanted to be safe so I said OK. She saw him and said no he doesn't need them. Even though he had the same thing. So I go home and realize that they charged $70 to see him because it was an emergency visit, when a normal visit is $39.99. They spent 5min with him and we had to wait an extra 2hrs for him to be seen!! Doesn't seem like an emergency to me. This was absolutely not communicated.
I explained this to them and they wouldn't budge. So I told them I would be leaving and they were willing to let two patients go for $30. It isn't alot of money but I just don't like feeling like I got cheated. Just be careful and don't be afraid to ask 'How much does this cost?'.

My two dogs were breaking out with an allergic reaction. I made an appt for one and brought the other for the ride...they do everything together. He was prescribed antibiotics. I asked if my other dog could be prescribed as well because he had the same issue. They said we would need to see him and there would be additional charges to see him. Gray Fox has many times squeezed in an appointment when I awoke to a sick dog. They have always been available to ease their journey to the next world. There is a compassion in this office that I rarely seen anywhere. I have been in the room with my wolfhound when it was her time and saw a member of the staff cry as Desi slipped away. I credit Gray Fox, along with the raw broccoli I fed him, with the longevity of our first Bouvier. Dreyfus lived to a rich 19 years old. If only we could find a human Dr. as good. This place is so animal friendly that the dogs are happy to go there. It's like a play date.

Our 3 dogs have been going to Gray Fox Animal hospital since we moved to Woodbury from Philadelphia in 2007. This past week our almost 15 yr. old dog that we've had since she was a small puppy became very ill rather rapidly. 15 yrs. for a spaniel/golden mix is an old age. We knew what was coming. I explained to the receptionist at Gray Fox that our pet awoke in the a.m. and was unable to stand very well, refused food and was having difficulty in relieving her bowels due to her inability to stand. I was appalled when she told me that I would have to wait until the following afternoon to bring her into the office. The animal was suffering.
I called another Veterinarian, who offered to see our dog as soon as we could get her there. She had to be euthanized.
I'm still dazed at the fact that Gray Fox expected us to allow and watch our pet suffer. I would never recommend them and if asked I would certainly relay our experience.

I have been taking my shelty to Gray Fox three years now, and i have nothing but praise for Gray Fox. I am very grateful for their knowledge and care which has enabled me to provide a good quality of life for my shelty as he ages. And they are reasonably priced!!! If you have a pet you really care about, take them there.

This place is wonderful. My cats love the staff and doctors and everyone here takes such good care of us. It's never too much trouble for them to take the time to explain procedures or special care instructions to us. The doctors are top notch and the staff are all wonderful and caring. They keep my cats healthy and have helped us through the loss of a pet with compassion and professionalism. We love them!JoAnn Luzzi

We just love Dr. Lee Spector! He treats our 2 year old male bulldog Butch. Dr. Lee is kind, patient and very knowledgeable about the breed. His office staff is always just as kind and caring. Butchie just loves his visits there. We give his office a big "paws" up!

I have been using Dr's Lee and Bernadette Spector for over 20 years now and they have always been there for me. I cannot say enough of how good they are. I breed and show AKC registered Bulldogs with the last pup that Dr. Lee delivered getting to be a Champion at 13 mo. of age and also going Best of Opposite to the BOB at the nationals beating at least 60 champions bitches at that show.
Dr's Lee and Bernadette Spector do fabulous C-sections for quite a few people. They are very good in all aspects of vet service.
I reccommend them for all breeds but especially braecephalic breeds.

This veternarian is the ideal vet. With 3 drs available, it is not too hard to get an appointment and they are all friendly. Their prices are reasonable and it sure beats waiting in line at Petsmart. I have never waited real long there and have been extremely happy with the treament of our dog.

This vet is wonderful!!!!!! They are truly pet friendly there, and make your pooch feel so comfortable....they really seem like they truly care about your animal, and are pretty quick with appointments...sometimes you have a slight waiting time, but hey, they are so excellent, and friendly, it's no big deal. I would defintely reccommend this vet to anyone in the area....and here's the kicker...they are the most reasonably priced vet I've ever found!!! People can't believe what I spend there...and it makes you not so cautious as to get your pet checked out!!!!
