I'm updating my review from years ago. We Americans are destined to be last when it comes to freely expressing a desire for entertainment along these lines. There must be a place for it if it's easily a multi billion dollar industry, and this has been achieved with a clientele that largely keeps evidence of their patronage a deep secret, dvds buried in the closet.

Without question, this is the best outlet for rental or purchase of the top flight titles for miles around! They also have all the "accessories" that can help another boring night turn into a night to remember. I am a long time customer, and the nearest competitor in inventory - Pleasure Plus, a short trip down the road suffers in comparison on a few levels. One of the main contrasts is the in basic store vibe. I'm an old school dude that values a certain level of discretion and PP is a little too MTV for me. At World, the merch is on display in a logical, easy to find layout. If you like a certain genre or even a certain studio's theme/series, it's not hard to spot. The clientele tends to be older and the entrance off the beaten path. At PP, the traffic line stopped at the Route 46 intersection has little to do but watch to see if they know someone coming in or out their doors.

Let's face it this type of entertainment has driven the exponential growth of not only video technology, but damn near the meteoric rise of internet technology, which, unfortunately, threatens the very existence of these DVD and merchandise outlets. It should go without saying that anyone can be a fan and also be a solid citizen in every regard, but of course we know that isn't the way so many see it, so we hope we don't run into someone we know, and if we do, we hope they will be cool about keeping that factoid in "the vault" along with their DVD titles.

The only thing that beats World Video in price is a trip into the Big Apple to the few places shoved into the marginal corners of Times Square, if they are still there. For a North Jersey locale, I dare you to find a place better suited to deliver on what floats your respective boats. So don't worry, be happy this place is still around.
