Great for a day of fun whether it's summer or winter. In the summer you can watch the staff dress up in old farm-style outfits and talk about the farm, see cows get milked (or see other farm animals), and just stroll around and enjoy the day. During the winter, they open up the hill for snowtubing/snowball fights/sledding which is a LOT of fun. You can also go for sleigh rides from Santa's "reindeer."
All in all, a great family fun place that isn't about video games or arcades.
Highly recommended.

Longstreet Farm is part of holmdels park system. It is a farm setting with animals. All the employees dress from the period and engage in activities from that period as well. They have all types of farm animals and do demonstrations as well. There is no charge for entering but they do have a donation box in the barn upon entering.

If you want a nice free day out for your family this is it! Its a lovely park with plenty to do from hiking, visiting the farm, going on a tour or just visiting the playground area which is a good size and seperated for older and younger kids. The bathrooms are clean and snack bar reasonably priced. Its a wonderful way to spend a day outdoors!

We have been taking our children to this farm for years now. They love checking out all the animals, and love to watch the cows get milked when they have demonstrations. The kids also think it's cool to see the staff dressed in clothing from long ago. The animals are well cared for--the staff really watches out for them. There's also a lake nearby that's stocked with trout, I believe, so with a fishing license, you can fish there. Holmdel Park is absolutely breathtaking--beautiful rolling hills, lots of gorgeous trees and flowers in the spring a summer. There are also a few parks for the kids (swings, monkeybars, sandbox, etc) and picnic grounds that can be rented. All in all, a great place to go!
PROS: Great farm, immaculate park, beautiful views
CONS: None

This is part of the holmdel park and its a fun place to go. They dress up for the kids and there are animals that you can pet also. Its located in a good area and the Holmdel park has nice areas that add to the longstreet farms convenient places to go.

Longstreet Farm is part of Holmdel Park.
The Farm is located to left side of the parking lot. There you will see well cared for and loved horses, pigs, chickens, mules, sheep, roosters, and a peacock.
The staff are caring and very willing to go out of their way to do more to make the eager children be part of the "daily chores" that the farmers do daily.
After the park , take a stroll by the gorgeous lake, on one of the wooded trails, or to the playgrounds. They also have an inclosed snack bar area which in the winter dons a real fireplace!
PROS: Beautiful gardens, well cared for animals, knowledgeable staff
CONS: None!

Longstreet Farm is a great place to take the kids. I've been going here for years. The staff all dress in period era clothes and explain how life was on the farm so many years ago. There are butter churning demonastrations, blacksmith demonstrations and sheep shearing demonstrations. Each year there is a great festival with lots of activities for the kiddies.
