We have been going there for years. Last week our dog got sick so i called there for 2 days leaving messages. Finally got an appt for 5pm thursday. We went there and the wife very rudely said, we cant see you tonight. I said what we have an appt. . She points to her desk and says we have a real problem here. On the floor is Dr. Vaughn playing with a pile of computer wires. SERIOUSLY?!?! They wouldnt see my sick dog bc her computer was screwed up!!! She wanted us to come back the next night. I said no, she's sick now, im not waiting another day! Now, my dogs a barker, but that's all she Is, a big noisy sissy. Then the wife makes a comment that my dog is a biter!! I told her what i thought about her lack of professionalism and we left.
We ended up going to another vet right from there. My dog almost died that night, she ended up having emergency surgery.
Dr. Vaughn never even looked up at us or anything. Ive never been treated so poorly by someone i was trusting to care for my dog. Shame on you both!!!!! We almost lost our baby girl bc of your unprofessional actions!

My yorkie died in the hands of Dr. Vaughn.. Sep 11,2013 my yorkie at 58 days started contractions, and sleeping in between. her mucous plug came out at 5:30 am wednesday..wednesday night I noticed that she was getting contraction more often her temp was 98.3. thursday morning I decided to take my yorkie to westfield animal hospital. I told them abt my yorkie and informed them that shes in labor shes having a hard time. I think we need a c-section and xray and he charged me 450 total. he said I will call you and keep you informed. Dr. Vaughn did an xray called informed me my yorkie has 3 pups in her belly and will call me once c-section was done. abt 3:40 pm recieved call from Dr. Vaughn stating c-section was done and all three pups were dead. I said omg how was Mia doing he said shes good and he would like to keep her and monitor til tomorrow and we can pick her up then. I left work at 4pm showed up at the practice it was an unexpected visit. I told receptionist (wife) I want to see pups. I seen pups they were dead.I said I would like to see my Mia he showed me were she was..She was up sitting in a cage and trembling with a blanket. I seen no I.V on her. I ask is she gonna be ok once again he said yes he just want to monitor over night.. friday morning my daughter shows up and he tells my daughter Mia just passed away all my daughter can do is cry of hurt and told dr. give me my dog I wanna take her home..My daughter called me with the horrifying news, all I can do is cry and was angry to know she was gone. I wanted answers..thanks to my boss she let me go home. I went to the office and spoke to the Doctor. I ask Dr.Vaughn what happen He said she died last night at 10 before we went home mind you he just told my daughter she just died friday morning. then he said she was toxic because of the pups being dead she caught an infection in her bloodstream. I then ask him well why didnt you tell us that when we asked you if she was ok and if a pup has an infection why wouldnt you keep an I.V and have her on any antibiotic at least to fight the infection. Dr. Vaugh response was that would of been a high risk. I said if anytrhing I would think it would help and fight any infection. and if she died 10 pm last night why didnt you call us. why wait til friday morningto inform us. then I ask for my records his response was what are you planning to do with them. I was told I cant get them and I had to wait..Come to find out later on he gave my yorkie oxytocin and he ask us and my daughter said no because a c-section was gonna be performed. Dr. Vaughn still went ahead and gave her oxytocin.. when you say your gonna monitor that means stay over night. It doesnt mean go home and come back the next morning.. this was neglegence of Dr.Vaghn having my pup die never called us then tell my child it died that morning. If you know a dog has an infection try to keep her a live by I.V or antbiotic and at least I could of said you tried or let us know that she had a 50 % chance of living. Not gice us hope and say shes ok..I would never refer anyone there..R.I.P. to my baby Mia

Very nice people the treatment i received was beyond excellent. Brought my German Shepard here at first nervous but after completely satisfied from simple shots to tumor removal.

I've brought my cat there a few years ago when he ran away for a month. He came back with a swollen face and they gave me medicine that worked. This year, I brought in a kitten and he just felt around him. I asked him why my kitten wasn't throwing up and he looked confused. Shouldn't he know the answer? He's friendly and so is the receptionist, but I feel like he dismissed the symptoms. I took my kitten to another animal hospital and they were more helpful. Turns out, my kitten has something stuck in his stomach and he may die from that. If your animal is acting VERY weird, do not take your animal to them. If it's something small like shots you may need yes. But they're not good at diagnosing a problem.

I have been taking all my pets to this vet for many years. Even my parents did before i was born. In fact my puppy had an emergency and i rushed her to him and he didnt even charge me for the visit. He gave her the medicine she needed and we were on our way. Its a shame that all the negitive comments are wrecking this vets office. True it may be a plain looking office but the staff are all truely amazing people. Just because his prices are not as high as most places should not reflect the quality of the office. He is the most gentle vet i have seen, and the only one who properly handled my mother-in-laws high strung shepherd. He is a wonderful man and is not afraid to explain something if you just dont understand. Dont let these negative comments sway you away from this vets office....you should try him yourself.

Dr Earnest Vaughn is a stand up guy. We've taken our animals there for over 15 years. His office may not be modern but his passion is there. His wife is the receptionist and has always treated us kindly. He is not afraid of animals at all. He's fine with Miss kitty and Cookie our Jack Russel. He was ever so kind to my husband when it was time to put our Rotti/Mastiff down. Don't beleive some of the crap that some of these folks wrote cause they are wrong.

I have been taking my pets, 2 dogs and 2 cats to the Westfield for several years. Dr Vaughn and his staff has always been execellent providers of first rate care for my Pets. The receptionist is very pleasant on the phone when I call in for appointments.
Dr Vaughn has told me more than once that he treats his patients as if they were his own. My cat were spayed there
and my dogs were neutered there, allergy treatments, tumor surgery never a problem. Dr Vaughn listens well, is compassionate
with experience and knowledge that is a credit to this community and his profession.

I've taken my pets to Dr. Vaughn for years. He is a very caring man. My dog often got sick at the most inopportune times, one such time was a Friday evening before the Holiday. I called Dr. Vaughn panicked, almost convinced that I'd have to pay for emergency veterinary care. His reception answered stating that they were about to leave the office for vacation. I explained that my dog was sick, she put me on hold, spoke with the doctor, got back on the phone and said bring him in right away. They were nice enough to work late on the eve of the Holiday to care for my pup.

As much as my pets are like my children, Dr. Vaughn is like my family doctor.

This veternarian is the worst, I took my dog there for a simple diarrhea and he almost killed him with an anesthesia overdose.

I won't take my dog to this veternarian ever again!

I use to go to the Dr for my animals.I trusted this man.I had one problem with him when I had my second dog.He over charged me for fixing my dogs leg. When I told him that I didn't have that much on me ,he said she would live a good life with her leg like that. She popped her hip out of place and he thought she be OK if I didn't fix it.Thank god he let me make payments.I never took her back. Now about 20 years my parents took their pets to this man and he prolonged what should have been done a while ago.Their cat has been sick,he would not do blood work to find out what was wrong. He just kept giving meds. Now their cat had to be put a sleep. And of course after being a long and loyal customer he still charged them to put him asleep, and then puts him in a bag to give him back to my parents so they can burrie him.my parents had this cat for 12 years and he was his Dr the hole time.I think he is very insensitive, and like others have said his wife that is the person in the front desk is very rude, and the place is very out dated. You would think with all the over charging they could get a fresh coat of paint for their business.

We have taken our pets to WAH for years. We also have family that take their pets here as well. Many of us have moved from the area but continue to travel back to Pennsauken to take our pets to Dr. Vaughn. He is very kind and considerate when treating pets with illnesses. He will take into consideration a family's means when discussing treatments and outcomes understanding their love for their pet, and of course, wanting the best for them. When making recommendations he doesn't jump to order expensive tests when simple standards will accomplish the same result. No bells and whistles here, just simply good care.

For years we took our pets here...but never again. I recently called for an appointment and receptionist was beyond rude, I can't even explain how put off I was by her.

Also should mention, our dog is one of the sweetest laid back dogs you'll meet, though slightly hyper but not in the least bit scary. Dr. Vaughn was terrified of him; dogs can sense that. He would always want to muzzle him or give him anesthesia for simple exams.

A friend rescued a stray cat and because she didn't have a lot of money she called around and chose this vet. I personally have another vet but this one was in her price range. This is for a reason. The vet is incompetent and the place is outdated. I'm glad I have my own vet. My friend said she will never go back there again. He acted afraid of the cat and disgusted when she sneezed. He wouldn't examine her in front of us and he did all sorts of things I've never had a vet do before and didn't seem to know what he was saying. Please for your pets sake don't go here!

My friend takes his pets to the FMA Animal Hospital and he swears by them. I tried it once and was put off by the wait time. The vets and staff seemed very competent but the receptionist seemed rude. The waiting room was also not the cleanest. The vet was good but looked like he was overworked and was just rushing through the inspection.

I have heard so many bad things about this place I wouldn't even try it. I've heard of like 3 or 4 animals that have died after simple procedures. If you love your pet, don't take them here.
