So I finally tried out this place after the longest time cause of all the hype it had for being some of the best pizza in the area, but I wasn't overly impressed. Considering the local NJ area has some of the best Italian-owned pizzerias, I found the pizza to be ok & somewhat overpriced. I'm definitely going to give the place another shot one day when I'm wandering around Princeton & in the mood for pizza since it's probably one of the better sit-down options in town.

Conte's is a fun local pub!
Hardly anyone uses the front door! Park around in back or on the (safe) side street.Friendly wait staff and thin-crust pizza with classic toppings. Much take-out business because it is the best Pizza in Princeton area. If there is a line waiting for a table, why go take a seat at the bar while you put in your pizza order. Check out the ambiance-locals of all ages, along with Princeton students and high school groups. Have a Rolling Rock or a Coke while you see what sports team is on the tube! When your pizza is ready, they will have a table for you. Salads are unnecessary, but available: Chunk of iceberg with fresh tomatoes and a little onion, with good dressing. Large water glasses help the terrific pizza slide down.
Friday and Saturday evening it is BUSY, like all popular spots in Princeton. I've been stopping in for Pizza at Conte's for over forty years and the Pizza, thankfully, hasn't changed.

Every little league team and Princeton team has been here for the pizza. If you go on a Friday or Saturday, be prepared to wait for a table, though. Call ahead and order your food as well. Great pizza, full bar, fun place.

This is a pizza place that everyone in the area has been too. They are famous for their thin crust pizza. They are also a full bar. They are very reasonably priced, and the place is usually packed any night of the week.

Contes has been around forever and by the decor of the inside it hasn't been changed in forever. If you're in the mood for a cold beer, good pizza and no fuss this is the place to go. Sometimes on a Friday or Saturday there is a line out the door for people who are picking up takeout and line out the door for people waiting for a table. Definitely a popular palce and when you taste their pizza you'll know why!

Despite its popularity in the area my experience has been that the pizza at Conte's just isn't all that good. The crust is mediorce and generally floppy and the sauce is uninspired and relatively flavorless. In addition it is fairly pricey for the quality of pizza you are getting. My opinion is that the popularity of Conte's rests mainly in the fact that there are basically no decent Italian/Pizza places within a 15 miles radius.

Pros: decent atmosphere

Cons: , pricey

There are only two things you can order here--salad and pizza--but you don't need anything else. Crust is thin and crispy, sauce even beats out Grimaldi's in Brooklyn. Conte's may not have ambiance but they do have the longest bar I've ever seen.
