I'm rating Globe Shoes unsatisfactory solely due to a policy/customer service issue.
Overall, the store has broad selection, the pricing is ok, but beware-if you find the shoes you purchased present a foot problem for you after wearing them, don't expect any help from Globe.
I bought a pair of Neil M shoes on 6/22/11 for $185 plus tax. Wore them 2-3 times a week for the next month. Over that time, I realized that wearing the shoes became more uncomfortable as the day progressed with bottom foot pain. Towards the end of that period, my hip and back began to bother me as well when wearing the shoes for the day. Typically, at work, I spend most of the day on my feet.
I determined that the shoes were not good for me causing foot, back and hip pain. This is something that couldn't be detected trying them on in the store or wearing them for awhile around the house. For myself and I think most people, it would only present itself through routine wear.
On the same day, I also purchased a $125 pair of Rockport shoes and wore them 2-3 days a week without any pain issues.
I stopped wearing the Neil M shoes and went to Globe on 8/5/11 hoping they would issue me a credit towards a different pair of shoes. The manager said that the shoes were worn, weren't defective, that Globe doesn't sell used shoes (they weren't taking them back) and that all he could do was give me the name and address of the manufacturer to write to them for some possible solution.
I told him that I thought that response was inadequate in that it left me out $185 with no shoes to wear. He said it was their policy.
So my advice to anyone shopping at Globe would be to be extremely careful selecting your shoes because once they're worn, you'll have no help from Globe if a problem with wearability becomes apparent. You may perhaps want to limit your purchases to lower priced items to limit your exposure to total loss of your purchase. Keep in mind that once Globe has your money, it doesn't demonstrate much thought, much less dedication to any standard of customer satisfaction and service. Had they offered me credit towards another pair of Rockport shoes I would have felt that they had listened, cared and worked to keep me as a customer. Unforunately, they didn??t- it??s their policy.

I am very disappointed that this store's return policy is STORE CREDIT ONLY and NO REFUNDS
if you know the shoe fits then buy from here
if you have any doubts, consider the return policy before making a purchase

I have feet like a bull. I needed a pair of sneakers in a 6E wide
Went to Globe shoes hopeing they would have something that would fit. The salesman went into the back of the store and brought me out three different pairs of sneakers. My only mistake was, I only bought one pair. Tomorrow I am going back to buy another pair just to have them, when I will need them.
If you need a pair of shoes with a special width or length Globe shoes is the place to go, If they don't have what you want, it is not made.

RETURN POLICY STORE CREDIT ONLY no refunds no exceptions.

BUYER BEWARE - purchase shoes from this place only if you have worn the make and model of the shoe before and are 100 percent sure the shoe fits and is comfortable. you will be stuck with a store credit if you return it for any reason.

if this place wants to retain customers, they should have a better return policy.

A legacy business that caters to an elderly crowd with special size and width needs.

Selection:
A decent selection of of traditional conservative footwear in every size and width imaginable.

Service:
Knowledgeable, but unfriendly and unhelpful. Lack a sense of style (even by ultra-conservative standards). Used car salesman impression.

Prices:
Not competitive with other local retailers. Expect to pay about list price on most items.

Policies:
Very poor return policy. NO REFUNDS, only exchange or store credit.

If you don't require a special size or width, don't bother! I think most people would prefer to support their local independently owned businesses, but this one is just not worth it.

Globe Shoes has such an incredible array of shoes in hard to find sizes. I have wide feet (thanks to my Dad's EEE width) so I spent most of my teen life trying to find shoes that didn't look as though they were designed for the elderly. Globe Shoes was a popular stop for me in my quest for wide width, attractive shoes.

Globe is on Route 17 and has ample parking outside. They are open Monday-Saturday--and the weekend crowds are a standard here. However, Globe has a decent-sized staff that is ready to assist you.

With widths ranging from AA-EEE, and men's shoes sizes up to 20, Globe is able to fill a niche for people with hard-to-fit shoe sizes. Inside the store, it is spacious and there are a lot of places to sit comfortably. Sale racks are available for your perusal as well. The shoes are neatly displayed on the walls so you can browse until you find something that piques your interest.

I recently went to Globe Shoes to purchase dyeable dress shoes for my sister's wedding. During my own "wedding-shoe" hunt, I visited Globe but found their dress styles that came in wide widths to be too "plain" for what I wanted with my wedding gown. However, the styles were just the perfect accompaniment to my Matron of Honor gown. I selected a closed-toe show with delicate straps, and paid a decent price for the pair of shoes.

What keeps me returning to Globe for shoes is the service and the selection--the employees really know the shoes they are selling. I don't feel ambushed by eager salespeople when I am browsing--and yet they are always in the vicinity when I do feel ready for individual assistance.

If you have unusual shoe needs, Globe Shoes is absolutely the store to visit.

PROS: Excellent Shoe Selection
CONS:

I don't think there's another store in the area that offers as much of a selection as Globe Shoes does. They have an amazing variety of styles and sizes. This is a great place to shop if you have a hard to fit foot. They have extended sizes in really nice styles. Their prices aren't bad and the service is really good. It can get a bit crowded on a Saturday so prepare yourself.

Globe shoes seems to have been around as long as I can remember.

Its a less than attractive looking highway store but don't let appearances fool you. If you have an difficult shoe size this is your place.

They have an incredible range of shoe sizes accomodating anyone from 4-13 Narrow to double wide Womens or Mens 6-20 Width A-6E. Thats an impresssive range. They carry good looking high quality shoes. They have patient and helpful salespeople

This is a fine place for people who have unusual size feet or just for good quality shoes in general..

PROS: Unusual sizes good quality
CONS: none
