After recently stumbling upon the reviews of Poochie Doo, I am shocked to find out that anyone let alone two people have something negative to say about the establishment and its owners.

Upon adopting my poodle mix, Benson, I was on the hunt for a quality groomer. Someone who would care for my dog as much as I do when he is away from home. I found exactly what I was looking for at Poochie Doo. I work in hospitality and my dog in constantly around people and other animals, with that being said I am continuously hearing about how well groomed he is and how they wished their pets had Bensons' groomer. In fact, even his vet prides his grooming. Therefore my review is not just my personal opinion, but the opinion of those who witness the quality work of this shop on a daily basis.

The shop offers an outstanding package for those individuals who take their high maintenance breeds there biweekly . The package includes two baths(nails cut, teeth cleaned, brushed) and a haircut once a month for an unbeatable price ! Every time I pick my dog up, he looks OUTSTANDING and the owners and employees are happy to carry a conversation with you about your pet and observations they make throughout your dogs stay. It is like a day at the spa for him. They know what they are talking about, they remember your dog, and their work is stellar. Three traits I think are most important when it comes to pet care.

All in all, I cant say enough good things about Poochie Doo and I cant imagine taking my dog anywhere else. May this shop thrive in positive success.

I had taken my cocker spaniel to Poochie Doo until he passed at 15 1/2 years old. He totally enjoyed going to the "spa" with his friends at Poochie Doo! When I lost him, JeanMarie, one of the owners, cried with me and grieved for Jesse like he had been her own.
When I adopted a Yorkie pup, the first place I took him was to Poochie Doo for them to see my Tucker! He had been a very sick puppy and when the time came for his "puppy cut", he was treated with gentle hands and loving hearts.
Tucker is 5 yrs. old now, and 2 yrs. ago, he was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor on his shoulder. After 2 surgeries, thank God and great vets, he is doing well. JeanMarie and Kenny are my "look outs", they check him when he comes in for his "spa day" to make sure there are no signs of the cancer returning. They are my backup and I trust them with my dogs without reservation!
I find them to be very knowlegable regarding many health issues for my dog. They will always go the extra mile to help me, show great love, compassion, and an understanding of an owner's concerns regarding their dog.
I find their prices are reasonable, they have never mislead me in the prices they charge.Their shop is clean , quaint, and pleasant. You would never know a bunch of "dirty dogs" had been brought in!
The window displays are always impressive and you, as well as your furbaby ,will feel welcome and at home.
One time I asked why the long stay, and JeanMarie's response was very understandable. They try to schedule the drop offs and pickups at about the same time. This makes it less distracting and upsetting for the dogs minimizing their stress. It allows the staff to work on the dogs more efficiently. Maybe customers should inquire as to why before assuming it is a negative procedure!
The dogs are taken out for potty breaks, water, and of course, treats!
Christmas at Poochie Doo is always special! They leave with holiday bows or scarfs and a bag of goodies!

I have never had one of my dogs come home injured in any way.
Tucker can sniff out their door when we are walking down the street! He will stop by every door and search out the right one!

I realize we all can have a different opinion or experience, but to sum it up, for about 20 years I have been entrusting the welfare of my pets to Poochie Doo. I will continue to do so for Tucker as long as he is with me. He enjoys them and I know my boy is in the best hands possible!

I've been taking my dog to Poochie Doo for several years. When I got my first dog, I was very picky about where to take it and checked out several places. Poochie Doo was the winner -- first and foremost because the owners seemed genuinely interested IN the dog, and in dogs overall, having previously worked in non-related fields prior to devoting all of their time for caring for animals by investing in this business. These aren't high school kids looking for a way to make a few extra bucks before moving on to working at an ice cream parlor or other random job next. See where I'm going?

The woman went over in detail what kind of grooming I wanted for my breed, hence it is not a carbon copy grooming of each dog regardless of the breed.

I was very satisfied with my first visit and have been back ever since. My dog feels at home with the people who groom him because its the same individuals every time. Not a new person every time. My dog comes out looking exactly like the breed, and for a dog like mine who wouldn't dare let me near it with nail clippers, it comes out with not only its nails, but the most delicate of areas trimmed such as the tips of the ears. The owners and staff have patience with all types of dogs which is evident by this ability to groom on spots of the dog that are not the most pleasant to the animal unless the animal trusts you.

So the owners and grooming quality both score high in my books. Now onto the shop itself -- seldom have I seen shops in general (in any type, whether it be a women's boutique, toy store, etc.) go into the amount of detail put into the window display. Its beautiful and changes about once a month depending on the holiday. That attention to detail is a good foreshadowing of the grooming your dog will come out with.

I also buy my supplies from there -- the collars, leads, clothing, even a cute embroidered towel. I like the big offering of options and am always out to support a good business.

Kudos to Poochie Doo, and I hope you win the Central Jersey Best award again this year. I've put in my vote already.

I took my ShihTzu puppy for a PUPPY CUT. I was told it would be $16 dollars. I told exactly what I wanted done. DO NOT SHAVE HER HAIR SHORT! The woman measured her hair and said she would cut 1 1/2 off. After 8 hours (are you kidding me) I went to pick her up. To my shock she was shaved, I said Itold you I didn't want her shaved. She told me she was matted. BULL! I brush her everyday. Not only didn't they do what I asked, but, the haircut was terrible. Could it get any worse? Oh yeah. She hands me a bill for $64. WHAT? You said a puppy cut was $16. Oh, she said, you misunderstood. I will never take her back to this place again. I hope someone reads this and thinks twice about taking they're dog there. These people lie and do what ever they want. Her reply...."I'm sorry you don't like the haircut". You'll never see me there again

Poochie Doo is great I have a finecky Bichon Frise and he was looking like a poodle from my previous groomer and now he looks great. He got a bag of treats for the Holidays and is soo happy. I love the fact that they do maintenance grooming because he has very curly hair and it used to get matted all the time NOW he looks great every day

I used to take my dogs to Poochie Doo, however I didn't like the fact that they kept them there for 6-7 hours and sometimes longer! It's a cute place and the staff nice there but I don't think it's okay to leave my dog there locked up for all those hours up with no where to use the bathroom or drink water. Also, if I requested to pick them up early (which was rare) they always gave me a hard time...again why do my dogs need to sit there for 7 hours? I don't know maybe it's just me but this is not okay. I take my pups to Suzie's grooming in Old Bridge and highly recommend them.

My dog loved her first grooming experience with Poochie Doo. Its like a spa for the pups. They do every breed of dog and treat them like their own. They are very good with the animals and the animals all seem to like them. With a bow on their collars they come out smiling.
