Epic fail. We had ordered a bunch of books for an author signing at our school. The sales person told us he only needed 5 days and he could have the order in, we ordered the books a month in advance and only half the order showed up.

Then to make matters worse he gave me a huge attitude saying 'we changed the order and that some of the books were never coming in because they were out of print. He also said it was our fault for ordering them...'

The only change we made to the order was adding an additional 2 books (so it does not explain why over half my order never came in). I found out every single book is IN PRINT, because I had to overnight them from Amazon who was happy to fill my order.
I honestly do not understand how a bookstore can stay in business when they give people such a rude attitude and their giant competitor can happily fill the exact same order in 5 minutes. The man was basically yelling at me and kept telling me that this is my fault.

It??s my fault, because you told me 5 days and I gave you a month to order my books?
It??s my fault because my school trusted you to order several hundred dollars of in-print books and you couldn??t get them in time?
Or is it my fault that we added two more books to the order? two weeks before we needed them?

I won??t shop here again, my students won??t shop here again, buyer beware.

wonderful alternative to the "big box" stores
delightful main street location, great selection, such personable attention could spend all day in this one small shop, schedule your visit to coincide with a book signing, even more fun

They have famous people for booksignings. I don't know how they get them. Pamela Anderson, Bill Clinton, baseball superstars, anyone and everyone who you can think of they have had. For an independant bookstore, they have a strong celebrity pull. The staff is nice and the selection is good as well. I would shop daily there if I did not live so far away. I would recommend this place for anyone who lives in the area.

This bookstore offers you many opportunities to meet the author of some of your favorite books. If youre lucky you can even get your book signed. Be cautioned the lines will probably be long so wear comfortable shoes. The store is well stocked and the staff is very friendly and helpful so do not hesitate to ask for help. They have some great gift ideas so be sure to stop by when doing your Christmas shopping.

This small-scale bookstore in Ridgewood, NJ has two floors--the main floor features a decent variety of books for sale. They offer--appropriately--decorative book ends and other small items like Beanie Babies and calendars. What definitely draws customers to this establishment is the incredible line-up of authors--celebrity and obscure. Bookends hosts author signings every month of the year, and because of this, lines of people waiting to get beloved books signed wait for hours outside the store at times.

If you miss the book signing, Bookends has a reserve of signed copies available for sale after the author has departed. In fact, this shop has the MOST signed copies of books available for purchase than I've seen anywhere. Bookends has hosted authors such as Bill Clinton, James Patterson, Mary Higgins Clark, and Bruce Campbell. An eclectic bunch to say the %

Patronize Bookends bookstore if you prefer shopping in a more personalized, independent bookstore. The staff is courteous and helpful, and their author signings absolutely cannot be beaten.
