Like review below I found selection very modern, not as big as giant chain stores but what they have here is definitely nicer. Prices about the same. I'd use them again. No complaints.

Definitely worth the drive. They were very friendly and helpful.I brought in my own presciption but I think they have a eye doctor there too if you need one.

I recommend this store highly. Everyone loves my new frames, and they are so light and perfect that I keep checking whether the lenses have fallen out. They haven't. I will definitely use them again when I need my next pair.

A 'world class' rating sounds corny but its at least very good or better. My neighbor told me about them a few years ago. They're fashions are very up to date for me, and they don't argue about adjustments or repairs and are probably unhappy with my business because my son keeps breaking his glasses, but I don't care.

I have shopped here before and prefer the personal attention they provide for the same price. Know that in these small stores you may have to wait to be served and can spend the time browsing the shelves. Once they are with you, however, they are with you totally. The blond woman is very good at identifying the shapes and colors that work well for your face, and explains why one frame is better for you than others. I still shop around so far I have not found a store in this area that is better.

I like Meadow optical. I work in Plainsboro and went in to compare to Cohen Optical at QB Mall. Meadow had lot of same frames plus nicer ones. Better fashion choice at Meadow. Pricier designer frames if you want them but I bought my same frames there with antiglare lenses and scratch proofing for two dollars more than Cohens. But Meadow had black in stock and Cohen needed to order thnose so I bought from Meadow and had them end of next day. Sales people are nice everywhere, who cares? I prefer to buy from a store owner than a chain so if I have complaints I won't have beg and call 800 numbers and write letter sand stuff.

This place is amazing! I have been coming here for a few years and they are always friendly, professional and extremely helpful. The selection of glasses and sunglasses is excellent (although I wish they had more designer sunglasses -- no Chanel, Chloe, etc. unfortunately). The prices are worth it, as you can come in any time and get your frames adjusted, fixed, etc. for free. A wonderful find!

The price of the frames are not marked. You are charged on the fly. For the one I got, insurance company and I paid over $300. It costs less than $50 if buy online including shipping. Of course, I can understand as they open a store, they need to make more money than doing business online.

As far as I am concerned the complaints stated below are unfounded. I have been clients of Meadows Opticians for more that 10 years and have gotten to now the owners well. SInce the beginning they have been nothing but courteous, kind, helpful, and professional. If there is an issue they have no problems with walk-ins and are more than willing to squeeze us in their schedule if they are busy. Any adjustments ever done where performed without attitude with our satisfaction in mind.
To those people who only want what insurance covers have to realize that they are going to get an inferior product. Why? because insurance reimbursement is crap. So don't have high expections because insurance is not going to cover an upper echelon frame; they are just going to cover a frame to hold a lens. I know this because I get paid by insurance companies in my business.

After reading all the negative reviews I felt compelled to write a positive one. Having only used them for contact lenses and one replacement pair of glasses lenses, I've had nothing but good experiences. First, as mentioned, they're friendly. Second, the service is very responsive to questions and problems. In terms of pricing, I've been ordering contact lenses for 10 years, and my actual out of pocket expenses have been very low. On top of this, I can remember one occasion when they structured contact/glasses lense purchases to maximize my insurance (VSP) benefits. Do they try to "push" me towards an annual eye exam? Yes, but I would hardly consider than an unfair business practice. Seems necessary to me since I'm ordering a year's supply of contacts. As eye examiners and suppliers of contact/glasses lenses I have nothing but good things to say.

The worst Service that I have recieved. The tall guy is very friendly till they take the order. They charged me for my contact lenses as soon as I placed the order. Usually walmart or other places charge after recieving the order. They are very rude. Once you start asking them questions they get very defensive as though they are trying to cover up something. I would never recommend this place to anybody .Please take your business elsewhere

These two guys have some racket going on. The the big one walks around and picks out the frames he wants you to buy. They come on in the beginning as being nice and helpful until you question them about something pertaining to insurance or your purchase. They are over-priced and the quality of their merchandise is less than acceptable. I would not recommend them to anyone.

RIP OFF ARTISTS
They are real nice up front-but question them on something like insurance? The real deal comes out-The big guy walks around and picks out the frames HE thinks you should buy-They are overpriced and the quality of the frames is herendous-Within 10 months the frames were tarnished-When I brought them back for him to take a look at-He gave nothing but attiture-The little guy walks around giving eye exams-Two of a kind-They are out to rip people off-

These guys are rip off artists. All I wanted to do was get an eye exam and order a pair of glasses which complies with my insurance coverage. They continually try to steer you towards premium lenses and frames which are above the insurance coverage levels. None of their products are priced so you cannot make comparisons. He started giving me attitude when I asked for frames which are covered under my insurance. He put on such a hard sell that I wanted to walk out of the store. Bottom line is I will never go back. If you need reading glasses, go to Walmart. If you are near sighted, go to Lenscrafters...they're cheaper even without the insurance.

The price is way expensive. You cannot get the discount that you entitle with your insurance provider. The discount price at here is expensive than the retail price you get at other shop. The guy is friendly if you listen to what he told you. Once you not agree with him, he will show you the way out.

Do not do business with Meadows Opticians in the Princeton Meadows Shopping Center. I had a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE with them and ended up CANCELING MY PRESCRIPTION I was having filled with them. The co-owner gave me NOTHING BUT ATTITUDE the whole time and then refused to speak to my insurance company after I called them and it became clear that Meadows Opticians was GOUGING me. Take your business elsewhere. They need to learn that the customer comes first, even the ones using insurance coverage.

I really couldn't believe the resistence I got when I said I was using my company's vision care program. She (the co-owner) acted very put-upon and made it clear that she would rather I take my business elsewhere. Then, she pushed me into buying a product much more expensive than what I asked for and mislead me into thinking that the price she was quoting me included a discount from the insurance. I was really surprised when I found out that she is one of the owners of the store. I ended up getting into a series of screaming matches with her, so at least I made it clear that customers won't stand for it. If I want service with an attitude, I'll go to Wal*Mart instead of some mom and pop shop. At least I'll be getting a better price there ($140 vs. $240). If she doesn't like dealing with insurance, she should get out of the network. Apparently, Meadows Opticians wants to have it both ways: Get customer referrals from the insurance company, but not have to deal with the administrative burden. If they don't like the kind of reimbursement they get from the insurance company, take it up with the insurance company; don't take it out on the customers.

PROS: None
CONS: Bad attitude, especially if you are using insurance.

Yes, they serve to rip you off, if you don't know what they are actually doing. The owner is very friendly till you pull up your insurance coverage. Upselling is their business strategy. On top my complete insurance coverage, the owner charge me almost 200 dollar for things which are already covered by my insurance. Even worse, teh frame he recommended, was stripping off paint within 6 months. Will never go back to this store and will not recommend somene to go either. More information can be found on Plainsboro local BBS called WWPtoday.com.

PROS: The owner smiles at you,
CONS: just because he can strip your wallet

Meadows Opticians is one of the few places these days that actually remembers their clients as well as their client's history. They take a personal action to see to it that you can see correctly and be comfortable with your new glass or contact lens prescription. I would suggest making an appointment because wait times can be long but it will be well worth the wait once you decide that Meadows Opticians is for you.

Although it doesn't carry the variety of a large chain store, I am always pleased with the friendly and professional service I have received here. I don't feel as if I am being pushed to spend more than I need or want to, and when I order contacts, I receive them quickly and receive a notifying phone call. The store has a nice, neighborhood feel to it.
