By far the worst experience I have ever had was taking my cat to Westfield Vet in Westfield, NJ. They are so obviously biased to dogs, I looked them up. Not one of their practicing vets even owns a cat! No wonder Dr. Day killed my poor little cat by misdiagnosing her! He was clueless! Charged almost a thousand dollars, and STILL she died. Tried a few other vets, they were just as bad if not worse. And nobody called me to say "Sorry we bumped off your poor cat!" Nope. Cats don't matter, only dogs. And they probably aren't treated very well either in this over inflated "Practice" who's motto should read "We never met a cat or a buck we didn't like!" FLEE from this establishment if you love your pets!

I have been going to WVG for many years, and though I have tried many of the Vet's there, have sadly decided not to go any longer after the last few visits. WVG has decided that their "bottom line" be about money and income instead of helping people. I say people, because when you help a pet, you are helping the person who loves it even more. Was encouraged to have every test done, and after spending almost $600. was told I needed a further ultrasound to really see what was wrong with my beloved cat. Why this wasn't done first, I don't know. Left with pills, my sweet girl died slowly of what I now believe was feline diabetes. I believe management encourages Vet's to pad the bills. Many times I have left paying hundreds of dollars and got the feeling the Vet's were going against their better principals. Reports of dissatisfied people who were literally 'shaken down' for more and more tests, spending more and more money are now increaslingly common for this once stellar practice. After seeing my cat suffer for what could have been an easy diagnosis, I will opt for a less fancy but nicer practice than Westfield Vet group. Management/Owner has gotten too profit oriented and have become immune to animal and human suffering. Sorry to say this, they use to be a wonderful group. But the last 5 years or so money is more important.

On behalf of the Japanese Womens Club of Westfield, I would like to thank you for your very generous support for our Japan Disaster Relief Fundraiser on May 22,2011. We are pleased to announce that we were able to raise a total of 10,077.28 for fundraising effort. Although we are still expecting additional donation by mail in the next few days. It is our hope that this small gift of a Handmade origami bookmark will help to communicate our heart felt appreciation for your generosity.

i have been going there for approx 18 years, two different dogs. The place has consisently been changing for the worse. There charges are outrageous and I feel like I am at a used car lot when I'm there. They try to sell sell sell all these unnecessary services to you to pad the bill. I think I will be changing vets.

I witnessed their management treating their employees like crap. it was uncalled for them to act like that. The workers have a job to do to just like you do. What are you doing pushing paper work. Remember you get hired you can get fired. This is why females can't run a office. Dr. Maus doesn't give a crap since he makes all that money. This place has changed. Ever since the new management got hired. Everyone was put under stress like they didn't have a dime.

Dr. Maus doesn't really practice any more but I have been going to this vet for years. I have dogs, cats, a rabbit and two rats and I can take all of them here for treatment. They aren't cheap, but owning a pet isn't cheap. I like the fact that they know me and they know my animals. They keep very good records and can easily go back and look at your pet's history. They also know when it is something they can't take care of and they will refer me to someone else. I have seen all of the doctors and am very pleased with the treatment I have received from all of them, including all of the techs. They are now open 7 days a week, which is really nice when you have a Sunday emergency, which I recently had. People have to remember that just because a vet is inexpenseive doesn't mean that they are good. You often get what you pay for.

My two dogs are the most important things in my life so I don't trust just anyone with their health and well-being. After my visit at Westfield Veterinary Group I simply wouldn't take them anywhere else. The staff greeted me with extreme warmth. One can see that everyone on the staff is an unconditional animal-lover themselves and it made me feel as though my pets were in great hands. I've been to a number of vets over the last 3 years, and the quality of service at WVG is simply unmatched. I was informed that the majority of the doctors at this practice are of the highest achieved and trained. I was very nervous for my dog Petey to go under the knife late last year, and to see him running around like a puppy again brings me so much joy. I owe it all to the wonderful people at Westfield Veterinary Group. Thank you!

I love my cats, but was SHOCKED when I walked out with a bill for $300 for shots and a routine visit. My old vet charged $32 for an office visit. This place charged me $75 per cat! Looking for a new vet now....

Not inexpensive, but friendly, caring group of vets that will allay your fears when your dog gets sick or injured. One of the big pluses of this place: you can sometimes get telephone advice without having to bring your pet in and pay a fee.

After checking in for a visit, we sat there for over 40 minutes. Long story short, they forgot about us, then had us seeing the wrong doctor. The receptionist that checked us in had indicated in the notes that we had asked to change to a later time to cover up her mistake. The visit took 2 hours. In addition, when I called later (one time) to ask a question, one of the front desk staff and the office manager told the doctor I called to complain 3 times. I never received a call back. Sorry to say it hasn't been a good experience.

I have lived in this area all my life and have used this group for over 30 years. The staff are all animal nuts and come out from behind their desks to play with clients and make friends with your pet. They offer multi-pet discounts, and keep careful records of your pets health. It is the only place I would board my dogs, and if you see the place you will understand why. This is an animal lovers veterinarian!
