Since I was required to rate it one star, Angelo's Pizzeria Ristorante is absolutely horrible, not even deserving of one star. This second incident that I have encountered eating take out from them was the straw that broke the camel's back. I ordered a Caesar salad and two slices of pizza from them in Aug 2012 and discovered after consuming almost half of the salad a dead brown about 2 inch long insect with wings it looked like a large mosquito. I instantly started to heave and eventually threw up. I called them to notify them of my findings, and the man who I was talking to who sounded like the owner told me that he had cut up and freshly prepared the salad and they have been there for 33 years and not once had a complaint. He offered me a refund or a fresh salad. I declined the replacement salad and said I want my money back for the entire order, giving the fact that I lost my appetite and was afraid that the pizza would have insects in it too. He continued to boast about his business and neglect to even apologize and strongly told me he was not going to reimburse me for the entire order. I was thinking so what just because you never heard a complaint doesn??t mean there weren??t any consumers unknowingly eating bugs in your food. I just happened to discover mine before it was too late and now in the process of figuring out what insect that was exactly. I would never eat nor recommend to anyone out there to eat here. I would rather eat dirt at least I know what I would be getting myself into instead of being surprised!!!! I highly doubt that they follow any sanitation or health regulations. BEWARE OF THE BUGS EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Angelo's is a great place for take out or to sit down. I used to go here for lunch when I was in high school and now I take my kids. We love to go in and sit have their yummy panzarotti's and fries. Their staff is very friendly and always helpful with the little ones.
I was going to Angelo's when I was a child. Loved it then. I don't get to go nearly as often now but I still enjoy their food. My friend from high school who lives in Riverside, still goes alot and 3 of her children have worked there. Good place and the people in the area obviously know it.
The pizza is just ok there. We were ordering it because the prices are very reasonable. Tonight my pizza arrived after an hour ice cold. I called and asked for another pie, ASAP. They told me they didn't know when it would be out. This was not acceptable since I had waited a while, and was ready for dinner. I was upset and spoke to the owner. He was VERY rude and hung up the phone on me a number of times. All I wanted was my dinner in a reasonable ammount of time. After we exchanged words I told him I just wanted my money back. He refused to refund my money and told me he would call the police on me if I called back. All he would do was send another pie. After the way he spoke to me I didn't trust any thing comming out of his kitchen. I was shocked by the horrible treatment. I assume that he doesn't treat all customers this way or else he wouldn't have a business. I understand that weekends are quite busy in a restaurant. Clearly this place needs more staff, and some anger management classes for the owner.
Needless to say I will not be going back. I would be more upset if the pizza were really good, which it isn't. You get what you pay for....
