The Pro's: only about 10 miles away from Philly, some good Italian food and American diners nearby, as well as a super KMart.

The Con's: the room was filthy. I didn't take my shoes/sandals off once in that room because of the dirty carpet. We had a king-sized bed with a blanket with burn holes. No microwave or fridge as others reported. No remote for the TV. Our curtain wouldn't close all the way. The dressers and night stands looked like they'd never been cleaned (beverage and other stains). The toilet water would squirt out when you flush. Bad insulation (was always too cold, then too hot when we used the heater). The front desk woman was ambivalent to rude. Not sure if there was a cleaning staff, as people only stopped by to ask if we needed more towels, but no one ever came in to tidy the place up. They claim to have free internet access, but the signal was too weak for us to pick it up (and we picked it up ok with other hotels on this trip). It's on a one-way street, so it's not as easy to access. You have to drive through a rotunda, and if you're not use to using those they can be frustrating.

Bottom line: SPEND THE EXTRA $10 AND STAY SOMEWHERE DECENT!

Pros: Near Philly, some pretty good eateries nearby

Cons: Dirty, filthy, bad upkeep, bad insulation, I feel like I should've paid $20 for that quality room

I have been searching for a good, cleanly, inexpensive motel in the suburbs of Philly on the Jersey side for months, now I have found one. Located on route 130, just south of the Walt Whitman Bridge, the Red Carpet Inn in Brooklawn, for a non-smoking suite cost less than $60. The room was cleanly, the building appeared to be in a good state of repair and the staff was courteous. The room I rented fro the night contained a king bed, a fridge, and microwave. Despite being on a busy road, at night the traffic could not be heard. There were only two downsides to this hotel: no continental breakfast, although there are two diners less than a mile down the road, and the color scheme in the bathroom was a mix of bright pink and black. Not to be taken wrong, the bathroom was clean, although small, with a shower, toliet, and sink. Again, no complaints from me otherwise, the bed was big and nice and comfortable, the room itself was clean and trval to and from Philadelphia and my home in New Jersey was convinient.

Pros: Inexpensive, cleanly, comfortable

Cons: Bathhrooms bright pink tile was an eyesore, no continental breakfast
