I went to this salon out of desperation. I had purchased a color remover for my jet black long curly hair, which had left it orange and breaking off. I called Teezers on the Monday before fourth of July, and Susan the receptionist had empathy and booked me that very day. Upon arriving Susan took a genuine concern towards the horrid state of my hair. She then gave me a tour of the gorgeous salon. I was assigned to Jenna, a sweet gorgeous young girl who was very careful with my fragile mop and asked her fellow stylists for their opinions before doing anything.
I left with shorter, darker hair and two products that Jenna did not at all try to push on me. They were reckon reconstructers for my peeling gummy hair that I very much needed. I was in the salon for 4 hours and Jenna even delayed her doctors appointment to finish up with me. I'm from NY recently bought a home in Bayonne. I've been to every top NY salon; bumble and bumble, vada, fekkai, etc. never have I been treated and pampered so well. I might not have left with the exact cut and color I wanted, but I trust that Jenna did what was best for the integrity of my hair. It was over $250 bucks, but I was there for 4 hours. I definitely recommend Teezers, Nicole is absolutely wonderful at her expertise as well; I observed her with several clients who entered looking like beasts and exited looking like goddesses!
I will be going back, xo

My experience at the salon was ruined due to the hard sell for add on services and hair care products. It was so bad that I was feeling pressured and the hair stylist seemed desparate to get the sale. Later I learned that the stylists get paid more (and promoted) based on how much they sell in product. Even after I said, "no thanks", I was still pressured and will NEVER go back to this salon again. It is clearly in the business to SELL, SELL, SELL and every person walking in the door is another dollar they will try to exhaust with sales tactics.

Nobody hung up my coat or offered a beverage. In fact, the receptionist pointed me to the coat closet and said 'you can hang up your coat here'

The haircut is horrible- I agree with the reviewer below. They seem young and immature who do not keep up with the lates styling techniques. They also push their products on you. When I was finished and paying, the receptionist wanted to know my name and address, book the next appointment and sell me the product the 'stylist' used on my hair. I wouldn't give them my address, but bought the mousse. The cap just broke, adding insult to a horrible appointment three weeks ago. I am glad another reiviewer sees this place for what it is: just a really bad salon

I recently moved to Bayonne and was searching for a good salon, I tried a few in town and was doubtful that I would ever find the expertise that i was accustomed to receiving in LA. I started asking people whose hair and color looked good where they went and each one of them said Teezers. I went in for a trim and was wowed by the experience. I subsequently booked an appointment for color and a cut and I was so happy that I could have cried. Even my husband noticed the difference. I couldn't believe that i found a home for my hair in such a small town. My stylist was professional and experienced and you could tell that she loves what she does. Everyone was friendly and the receptionist hung up my coat for me, made me a drink and put money in my meter. I love it there!

Just go, it's a tremendous experience!

I chose Teezers for its sleek modern look and on the assumption that the owner would place as much emphasis on staff training as on putting forth a professional, state of the art, look. I visited twice. The first time the stylist couldn't cut a straight line or shape a style. She also made an inappropriate comment about my dry scalp . I thought I would never visit this salon again considering such an inexperienced stylist could be employed there. More recently, I was chatting with someone who had just been there and her hair looked nice. Having not found a salon locally I thought I would give it another go with a different stylist.

This experience was worse. I had to wait nearly a half and hour, Two minutes into the appointment it was clear to me that she had no technique and my very basic chin length layered bob was angled so starkly that I looked like something out of Vidal Sassoon c. 1975.

THis was two days ago. Today I went to Imago to fix it (I didn't trust the owner to do it having obviously very poor judgement in stylists) and given the amount of time this very experienced stylist took with me, was so glad I did. She explained in considerable detail what happened and talked a lot about technique. I also know that this stylist takes classes all the time. I doubt anyone at Teezers has had a single one since beauty school.

Avoid this place

Two thumbs way up!! I meant to review it sooner but have been traveling. I was looking around for a good salon and asked some of my co-workers where they went ( as i am from out of town) and all of them said Teezerz. From the moment I entered and was warmly greeted by Amanda I knew I chose the right place. She gave me a tour of the facilities and even offered me a drink while i waitied. My hairdresser Taryn was young and talented and gave me a great cut!

Best salon around... hands down!

I just moved to Bayonne and was actively seeking a hair salon. Everyone, I mean everyone, that I asked(being very particular I only asked people with great style/color) recommended Teezers Salon. I was not disappointed. The place was beautiful, the service was top notch, I received the best color of my life and my stylist, Taryn, listened to me when I told her to follow my last haircut(it actually looks and feels better than my last haircut). Plus, my blow dry lasted 4 days! Although the salon was busy, I did not feel rushed in any way.
I am so grateful to have found such a gem in Bayonne.

Disappointed in the haircut as the layers are clearly visable creating a layer cake look to my hair.

Pros: decor, friendly

Cons: poor cutting skills, heavy sales pitch

I made the mistake of going on a Saturday. I asked them for when they had time in their schedule to cut my long curly hair. However, my stylist was so busy she kept going back and forth between me and another lady. I asked her to trim 4" off my hair and then add more layers. She just trimmed it and kept the same style. As she was cutting my hair she asked me if I was ready to go for color next. I have naturally red hair that I would never color, so I don't know why she would ever think that. I'm glad I was paying attention or the next thing I knew she'd be putting who knows what on my hair. She also combed my hair so vigorously and was distracted with all the hustle and bustle that it pulled out my ball enclosure piercing that had been in my upper ear for 4 years straight. I'm only giving them a 'very good' because her technical skills were great, but the rest left a lot to be desired. She did try to blow dry my hair with a round bristle brush. Anyone who knows anything about curly hair knows that one should NEVER use a brush on it, only a comb. I looked at her in horror when she took it out and insisted on getting out of there as soon as possible without a blow dry. I won't be going back.

I have never had a "bad" haircut here. All of the technicians are highly qualified in hair styling and coloring. The salon is gorgeous - right out of NYC.
The entire staff is friendly and always make you feel at home.
