Visit the JSCM at their new temporary location inside the Hamilton Mall. We have new smiling faces that are ready for some fun!
.

I was a member there for 2 yrs and always enjoyed it while I was off with my kids for 3 yrs. I didn't renew it for a year and kind of missed the place so I took my youngest who is now 4 with another friend of ours on a Friday afternoon playdate this past August 2010. We arrived at 3pm and they told us they were closing at 4 (even though the website says 5). We paid $8/person for 50 minutes and the people at the counter seemed annoyed we were there...the place was empty and they yelled at our girls to settle down and have their hands stamped before entering! I wrote a letter asking for my money back and to comtact me ... they never responded. I think thats unprofessional! I will not get the new membership and neither will my friend!

Jenna so sorry for your unhappy visit~ please consider visiting us at our new temporary location inside the Hamilton Mall, Mays Landing. The new crew is working around the clock to bring a New-Bigger & More Updated Museum to Atlantic County!

This is a great place for younger children! There is so much to do - a TV studio where they can play weatherman and see themselves on the TV screen, a toddler-sized basketball court, a dental office where they can play dentist, an archaeologist station where they can dust through the sand for fossils, a post office, grocery store, art room, etc., etc. My daughter could identify bones on an x-ray machine when she was 2 because she loved the ER room. It is not neat that adults have to pay for admission, but if you live in the area you can get a year-long membership for then entire family for just $70, which gets full, unlimited access to the museum and all of its programs all year - THAT is a really great deal. And it is a perfect place to go get the kids out of the house on a rainy day.

Thanks Kristin for the rainy day plug :) We'd love to see you again soon at our temp. location in the Hamilton Mall, Mays Landing (just up the road from our previous location) We even have a few newer exhibits for the kids to explore too.
.

This is a hands on museum for the younger ones. Occassionally a group or one or two kids are a bit too over excited, but other than that pre schoolers and early elementary kids will have a real blast here. Too bad they do not have a place where a parent, or older shore visitors can hang out and have a cup of coffee while only one adult accompanies a child. The adult admission is a little high when all we do is really just hang back and watch the kids experience the museum.

I have a home daycare, we have taken a class trip to the Jersey Shore Children's Museum many times. It's always a wonderful experience. Parents enjoy it as much as the children!

PROS: Everything is hands-on
CONS: Parents admission is not free
