Terrible Terrible pet grooming at this location dont go there! My wife took our dogs there, the dogs hair was not cut evenly and it looked choppy and just very anateur like to put it kindly, We
had a very bad experience. who trains your dog groomers? How much experience do you require? To add the cherry to the top...........The manger was very stand-offish about this issue and offered to give us our next groom for free however we declined and Since then found a new groomer (which we are so happy we had the bad experience because of it we found our new Groomer!!! We will name no names but your will hear about him) and from what I understand after my new groomer told me that You (Petsmart) had the opportunity to hire him and did not! RECENTLY WAS VOTED FAVORITE PET GROOMER!!!!!!!! In wayne and surrounding towns check out the march issue of waynemagazine or google 2012 readers choice awards winner for favorite groomer WWW.WAYNEMAG.COM (He won runner up last year) and you will find out who you should of hired to work at your location!!!!!!! oh well your loss! Shame on you for not only not hiring the right people but for your cookie cutter stores, service and terrible customer relations, your prices are extremly high, employees are mediocre with knowledge and somewhat unfriendly and need more training and a complete overhaul from start to finish! I will not shop there and definitly will not return either! SHAME ON YOU AS A SUPPOSED LEADER IN THE PET INDUSTRY FOR ALL OF THE ABOVE AND I HOPE EVERYONE READS THIS SO THEY KNOW WHERE TO GO FOR ALL THIER PET NEEDS!!!

They trimmed the whole hair on My beautiful Yorkie.It was not even and they also cut her :-(

I spoke to the manager and he only asked me if I wanted my money back.The staff don't know what a PET means to us!!

Please don't go there.

I was taking my dog to PetsMart PetHotel in East Hanover, NJ and my dog was vaccinated with Bortadella four months prior. During one of their many kennel cough outbreaks in April, with the vaccination four months prior, he got kennel cough. The staff did not tell me of the outbreak or warn me and there have been several outbreaks since. Then when I tried to make appt recently, they informed me he needed another shot, becuase it was 7 months since his last. I have spoken to several vets who think the 6 month vaccination is too much and will not do it. I told them I would provide a note from my vet and they told me no. They also acknowledged that there are no guarentees with the shot (which is obvious since my dog was vaccinated and contracted kennel cough in their East Hanover, NJ store).

My conclusion is they don't care about the health of the dogs (willing to over vaccinate against the advice of our vets) and they continue to have outbreaks of kennel cough even with their strict policy. They need obviously change their managment of the facility - more circulation, watch for signs of outbreaks, warn customers when they do have an outbreak, etc. I would say to anyone considering this PetsMart PetHotel in East Hanover, NJ to think twice. They have a strict policy that does not work and an environment full of sick dogs, which will just cost you more in vets bills and be a a huge nuisance and risk to your dogs health. My stay there ended up costing me for one day of camp - several hundred dollars in bills.

I took my 8 month old lab to the PETSMART hotel in EAST HANOVER, NJ over Memorial Day weekend. He was coughing when I picked him up, but I thought it was just the excitement. Well, I took him to the vet the 2nd day he was home, and he had THE WORST CASE OF Kennel cough!! Yes, he did have all his shots, but they siad that the bordatella shot only cover 40% of the types of kennel cough. The Banfield vet said that they have had a really bad strain of kennel cough going around in that hotel. Well, after an $800 vet bill for xrays, to rule out PNEUMONIA, it was that bad, he ended up on two types of antiboiotics, and two types of cough pills. He did not sleep for over a week due to the cough. He was up barking all night like a seal. The petsmart hotel holds NO RESPONSIBILTY for any communicable diseases ( kennel cough) . So basically, I got " we're sorry, but we are not liable. Yes, I did sign a waiver. But I didn;t expect pethotel to be so disrespectful to a dog, to EXPOSE HIM to this possibly fatal disease. They should have scrubbed that place top to bottom!
NEVER, NEVER , NEVER again will I board a pet there. His 4 night stay ended up costing over $1,000 between the PETHOTEL and VET BILLS.
At a final cost of $250 per night, he could have stayed at the Ritz!!NEVER AGAIN!! MY DOG COULD HAVE DIED!!!

i've been to many pet stores in my area including petco and nj pets - both overpriced and poorly managed. a bad experience in the petsmart store in paramus last year kept me away from petsmart all together until i visited this location. the employees were all very friendly and helpful -- even the cashier!!! which is rare in most stores. i think it's the best looking petsmart store i've been to. at one point i had three different employees helping me from three different departments. i recommend this petsmart as it has become one of my favorite stores to shop in.

PROS: great customer service, very well kept store
CONS: none that i can think of

I visited this location this weekend and was really unhappy with the service in the fish department. I was one of maybe 5 shoppers and there was one employee who really did not help anyone. Kept running off while we waited to get a fish. He was not interested in helping me to find the best fish for my aquarium and almost seemed annoyed that I would ask for questions. I think they either need to get trained staff in that area or remove the fish from their store.
