My family and I have been going to the Animal Hopital of Sayreville for years. Through many ups and downs with all of our pets, I can honestly say this is the best place to take your four legged family members. Now my husband and I take our pets here and wouldn't go anywhere else. You will not meet a vet that is more caring than Dr. Spin! I can honestly say that if it was not for Dr. Spin and staff my 3 year old Doberman Penny would not be here today! Thanks to his expertise and hard work along with the compassion of his staff they were able to locate a rare liver disease that is fatal if not treated, along with some other health conditions that she has experienced so far. If it was not for their hard work and diligence we would of never know how sick Penny was. Now almost 8 months later, Penny levels are close to normal and she is back to the vibrant healthy girl we all love! Thank you to Doctor Spin and all the employees at the Animal Hospital of Sayreville for taking such great care of Penny!

I am actively searching for a new vet in the area and came across Dr. Spinazzola. I was hesitant because the practice is not AAHA accredited. Still, I stopped in to meet the staff and schedule a time to meet the doctor face to face. This request threw the receptionist for a loop. I waited quite awhile as she asked Dr. Spinazzola what to do and helped someone on the phone. She made me feel as if my request was crazy. I was told he would typically do that over the phone and not in person. The doctor came out and was casually chatting with someone standing next to me. The receptionist told him I was the one who wants to meet with him face to face and he shrugged his shoulders and said a hesitant "sure". One would think he could have acknowledged me with just a hello. Heck, maybe even take 2-3 minutes and talk to me right there and then since he had some free time. Nope. My name and number were taken and I was told someone would call me to schedule a time to meet the doctor. I found it odd that it couldn't be scheduled with me standing right there. Leaving the practice I noticed the two luxury vehicles in the parking lot that is for doctors only (Dr. Spinazzola and his wife both work at the practice). The practice itself was unorganized and dirty in appearance. I honestly didn't expect to get a phone call from anyone and didn't want to. However, much to my dismay, I received a call telling me we could schedule the face to face for a $63 fee! A $63 fee for a five minute introduction?! I work with rescues and senior, special needs dogs. I would have hemorrhaged money at this place. How anyone could take their pets to this practice is beyond me. Thankfully, not all practices and veterinarians are this awful. I have already met with one doctor at another nearby practice and will be setting up a meeting with another. Guess what- no fee for either!

Dr. Spinazzola is GREAT! The vet staff is very friendly and personable. I brought my dog to Dr. Spinazzola because my dog had been suffering from flaking dry skin, redness and itching all the time. The vet I took him to previously did nothing for him except charge me and if i wanted to know more information i would have to pay. I was very disappointment and my dog wasnt better, I was recommended to Dr. Spin through a friend and thank god. Dr. Spin really took his time with my dog and made sure he found out what exactly it was on his skin, He explained to me different options I had and what he recommended. You can tell he wasnt worried about the money, but more for the health of the pet. I will recommend Dr. Spin to anyone I know that needs a good and affordable vet.

My cat had a delicate surgery and I could not be more pleased. The surgery was successful. I received three phone calls updating her condition. The staff was exceptional - kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and available. They clearly love their jobs and it shows in everything they do.

Dr. Spin was attentive to my information and asked insightful questions. Doctor explained the procedure until he was sure I understood it. He is a wonderful vet. I'm so happy I used this vet; he is a find.

I travel from PA to bring my dog to Dr. Spin. He is not only a smart doctor, he is kind and spends more time with my dog, than my own GP!

Love him!

Dr. "spin" as he is called- well.. I unfortunately have had several bad experiences with him. I found his bedside manner to be despicable when our 10 year old cat was suddenly found to have a serious cancerous growth (Squamous cell tumor) under the tongue. (Mind you, the cat had received a dental exam less than a week before this.) Why was the tumor not seen then? He then proceeded to insist that this was an infection, and put our poor boy on antibiotics for 1 week before confirming that this was, in fact, cancer... a deadly, incurable cancer. He would not offer us pain medications for the cat for any short period of time (while we adjusted to the impending sudden loss), nor did he support our request for steroids for short term use, once again, to keep our poor boy comfortable while we made that most difficult decision. In the office, he was nonchalant about the whole thing, acting as though we were idiots for even trying to make him comfortable in his last days. My faith in him was lost... immediately.

More recently, our 3 year old yorkie rather acutely developed a fibrosarcoma on his left shoulder. Initially, Dr. Spin told my mother in law that it was probably nothing, and took a FNA of the area and sent it out to the lab. The aspirate was performed so poorly, that the report came back "inconclusive." The tumor was removed several days later, and sent out for pathology. The results came back as.... you guessed it.. cancer. A mid grade fibrosarc. He A) Gave my mother in law the impression that this tumor is very serious. He then B) Told her we would just keep an eye on it. and C) Claimed that he would speak to an oncologist about it. 2 weeks later, "Tucker" went back to have his sutures taken out- the doctor had never spoken to an oncologist. Had no conversation related to the tumor with my mother in law, and left her with only more questions, and the assumption that we were just going to sit around and wait for him to grow another tumor. I refused to watch this happen, and decided to take things into my own hands- I had her schedule an appointment with an Oncologist at RBVH, where I worked for 9 years. That visit resulted in chest radiographs, and a surgery appointment to have better margins taken on the tumor, because, even though Dr. S had claimed to have clean margins, the report actually suggested that the margins were in fact less than satisfactory. He also claimed that he took muscle with the tumor. THIS was no where to be found in the pathology report. This doctor has a problem with pride, and apparently has a problem with making referrals to worthy specialists. My mother in law goes to him, and I really, really don't like it, but I have no control. My best advice... take the trip to Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. 24/7 emergency, and tons of GPs and specialists. You won't regret it. I would trust them with my life.

This is a great local vet hospital. They have amazing hours so it gives you peace of mind if an emergency ever arose with your pet. They are also considerate towards animals and their nervous tendencies at the vet hospital. They are kind of out of the way but are definitely worth the trip.

The Animal Hospital of Sayreville is a great place to take your wounded pet. They are open twenty four hours a day and you can bring your pet in anytime you are able. We took our puppy here a few years back when he injured his eye on the Fourth of July. The doctors were wonderful, very empathetic and calming. They took wonderful care of our beloved puppy and he was back to his normal self in no time.
