It all happened 2-3 years ago...
After serving us a spoiled chocolate milk they treated us like crap instead of being sorry. I hope it's not because we're Asians but they were really really bad to us. We were expecting just a simple apology but they even had some of the customers involved and really treated us like we were only doing it because we didn't want to pay. A really really bad experience for us. We all felt like crap that day! I'm never going back there ever again! (Ruby Tuesday inside Garden State Mall)

Usually the in mall restaurants are suspect, but this is at Garden State Plaza, a mall that is getting big enough to secede from the union, and Ruby Tuesday is every bit a full fledged eatery, on par with the TGI Fridays and the like. Unlike Fridays, Ruby Tuesday has a world class salad bar, much better than the nearest salad bar competitor on the market; Charlie Browns. I do have a little problem with it the salad bar being located right smack in the middle of the main entrance into the place. The doors are usually held open, so the noise of the East Coast's busiest mall, along with the close hovering of patrons waiting to be seated are encroaching on your croutons. Still, the salad bar is kept impeccably neat and fresh, and it has been a draw for us even if we are not shopping that day. That says a lot, because trying to find parking at Garden State Plaza within a half mile of your favorite entrance is one of the most annoying frustrations one can endure. So you might as well treat yourself before, after, or during a trip to the gazillion shops in this money vacuuming mini city.

Let me cut to the chase. You can get the standard apps like wings and cheesesticks, and there's the taps, cold beer and vantage points to see a game on TV and all, but what hooked me on R.T.'s is what they call the "Triple Prime" burger. It's name comes from the claim that it is made from combining prime filet, prime ribeye, and prime sirloin into one ground beef burger. I order it medium, and don't you dare add any condiments. There's a garlic mayonnaise sauce that is part of the burger - it does not over power the burger, and that's all it needs. That and a draft beer, that is.

Ruby Tuesdays categorizes burgers as "handcrafted". My wife likes the mini burgers, but they tend to be flat and average, nothing like the "premium" burgers category where you'll find the Triple Prime. Of course, branch by branch, results may vary, in fact, if the cook staff changed since the last time I was there, I just might find a different burger. Opinions online vary as they always do. Many regard Ruby Tuesday as twins to that defunct salad bar centered restaurant chain who's name escapes me right now.

I think Ruby Tuesdays is a quality establishment at the Route 17, Garden State Plaza location. It had better be, the tab they are paying to lease there must be astronomical!

This is one of the best salad bars I've evr had and at a chain restaurant too. Order a lunch special with salad bar and you have tons of leftovers for the next day.

If you are in the mood for a nice evening out with friends or family, take the trip to Ruby Tuesday. It is at the Garden State Plaza, great food after you shop. Also, it is 5 minutes away from the Route four movie theatre. Convenient with great food to eat and excellent service.

This restaurant is not too crowded considering it is located in the mall and they have a great salad bar that you can have as an appetizer or as your dinner.
