This is our family's favority pizza/italian restaurant! They have a HUGE menu of italian food, from pizza (of course) to all kinds of pasta and amazing salads. They also have a liquor license, and offer a great variety of beer and wine. The atmosphere is wonderful - vibrant, a bit on the noisy side (which is great if you have kids 'cause no one will complain about them), wonderful place to eat great food at a reasonable price and do a bit of people watching, too!
Overall, fun for college kids but don't count on good service or getting your order right. The owner's I have talked to about complaints seem prejudice They apparently underpay their employees and when this is brought up they don't seem to care. I don't recommend supporting people like that, they need to be more careful especially since it's a family run business. The food isn't anything special either. Try the pizza place on central or eat at the Greek cafe.
I love the decor, and the pizza slices are gigantic. If the Frontere looks crowded, which it will, go to Saggios across the street. They serve beer which is a plus!
The Thai Chicken Pizza is the best I have had anywhere in the world! The ambiance of the restaurant, Beer selection, and I wish they had NM Wines to select from. This is the Best Sport's Bar anywhere.
Pros: Everything is Pro, I wish they delivered?
Cons: None
Saggios definately the best pizza in all of Albuquerque, portions are HUGE and the quality and taste is out of this world. It also has any game on you can imagine and each television is over at least 50 inches. Saggios is a great combination of great food, high energy atmosphere, and sports. Definately a great place to eat and have a good time
i grew up in albuquerque-- and although i'm spoiled by now living in nyc--and the pizzas it produces--saggio's is always the first place i head to after touching down back home.
the crust is first rate! a combination between gormet-thin and chicago thick... i've never had pizza like this anywhere in the country! it truly is the best of both worlds. toppings are generous yet don't get in the way of the flavours of the spicy tomato sauce.
i can't speak highly enough of this place. it's a standard that i measure all pizzas to be.
This is the best place in Albuquerque, go there if you can.
Pros: a lot of people, party like enviroment, sports
Cons: a lot of people, bad parking, difficult to find
If you are going to order a slice one is plenty these slices are HUGE!!!!!!!!!!
very good. better than dions. if you want good pizza eat there.
Pros: pizza
If you are tired of franchise Pizza (Pizza Hut, Dominos), and want good local pizza, Saggio's is the place.
The best pizza restaurant in the Duke City by far. Slices are battleship large (two will make an entire meal) and absolutely delicious--comparable to the best in New York or Chicago! No longer just a pizza restaurant as it now offers various pastas, salads, calzones, foccacia sandwiches and wonderful desserts including several extraordinary cheesecakes
Pros: value, pizza perfection
Cons: proximity to UNM, parking
This pizza is outstanding it is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Saggios has huge pizza's I think that they have the best pizza for the price.
Saggio's is definately one of the best restaurants in the Albuquerque area for the price of the food and the area. The whole restaurant has been painted and sculpted so much that it has become a work of art, with huge murals decorating every wall, and weir fountains to sooth your jangled nerves. There are two rooms, one for sports and one for not, and if you are into sports, this is the place to be. Almost every screen is over 40', and they have every game that you would want to see, and then some.
Pros: Awesome Price, Awesome Service, Great Game Selection
Cons: no clubbish atmospher
Both the California and Florentine had enough cheese on them to be filling, rather than being herbal cracker hors doevres. The vegetables and spices were fresh and flavorful. The crust was perfectly in the middle between thick and thin crust. (When it comes to pizza, I steer between the Scylla of bread and the Charybdis of melba toast.) The staff was cheerful, alive, awake, intelligent, witty and charming... as well as busy.
All in all the _best _pizza experience we have had so far in Albuquerque as we make the rounds looking for the _perfect_ piza.
Pros: Decor, Convenience, Cleanliness
