We ordered takeout BBQ many times from the Cowgirl Bar and Grill. The food is of excellent quality, and we've never been disappointed. The atmosphere is quaint, and they have some really cute gift items for sale. We'll try out the restaurant the next time we are there.

We went to the Cowgirl last night, and it was wonderful! We ordered the BBQ Sampler Plate and also had the Sweet Potato Fries . The dip for the Fries was fabulous, made with finely chopped walnuts, honey, and mayo. For dessert, we got talked into the ice cream that looks like a potato. Its covered in coco and totally awesome! We really enjoyed everything ! The Staff was courteous, friendly, and very prompt and attentive. We loved the atmosphere, the food, the hats, and everything about it. We were told that the building is on a Historic Register, being over 100 years old. It was an apartment house at one time. In the outer area near the kitchen, a section of the floor is made of old cobblestone style bricks, that are very very old. It is a charming place to eat, and I can see why it draws so many people. We hear it is a favorite with the wealthy celebrity locals too. If we had one complaint, it would be the parking, thats all. We are definitely going to go back there in the future. We live in Albuquerque and its worth the drive ! We would definitely highly recommend it if you are going to Santa Fe to visit !

The Cowgirl Bbq and Western Grill is a great place to spend a laid-back evening with some friends or to meet some new Santa Feans. Most of the crowd here tends to consist of locals- both older adults and college students. The menu is not too extensive, but good, and the desserts are great. There are awesome drink specials, including $1 PBR Pint nights. Also, they have musical events ranging from live DJs to kaeroke. There is a parking lot behind the bar and plenty of free (in the evening) street parking nearby. The only negative thing about the Cowgirl is that there is a cover charged most nights ($4-5).

We visited over the weekend for dinner. We were seated quickly even though we were on a wait list. The bar draws a different crowd and encourages people watching. The food was good, i recommend the BBQ Sampler Platter for a taste of it all!
