Dr. Hassan is my Dr. and she prescribed a medication for me that I have to physically pickup from her office every 30 days. By law it has to be a written prescription every 30 days, so every 28 days I call the office to have my medication refilled. The staff that takes my information are always friendly, but I every 28 days when I call they act as though i'm a new patient and have to go over all of my information even though i'm in their system. Then, once the information is passed to Dr. Hassan, I get a call back from staff stating that Dr. Hassan hasn't seen me since the last time she prescribed the medication and won't refill it until I schedule an appointment to come see her. I explain to staff that my insurance will only cover me to see her under a "wellness check up" once per year unless i'm seeing her because i'm ill. I explain to them that they do this to me every 30 days and they say they'll pass my info on to Dr. Hassan. About 30 minutes or so later, I get another call back from staff letting me know that my prescription is ready for me to pick up.

Why can't they read my file and know why i'm calling every 28 days? Why can't Dr. Hassan remember me when my information comes to her every 28 days? Why do I have to go through all of the harassment just to get a medication that SHE prescribed every 30 days? She should be happy that i'm not sick all of the time and having to come see her!

I try to give others the benefit of the doubt, but when I constantly have to wait up to 2 hours in an exam room until the doctor comes in...there's something wrong with the system. The Referral department does not answer the phone, nor return messages left. I last saw my doctor 3 weeks ago in which she ordered an MRI scan. After repeated calls to the office, I'm still not scheduled for my scan. Meanwhile my problem is getting worse. Rio Grande Med has now lost, not just myself as a patient, but my wife and two children as well.

These comments is for E. Lohman Rio Grande Medical Group
I have serious problem with Claim Department, they have not answer their phone calls since Monday 24 and to now Thursday 27 of May. I have left massage and no return yet. Referrals are concelled without no reasons and some of them are not summitted. I'm going back of my prior medical group all their department were doing better job than Rio Grande Medical Group.

I have enjoyed the doctors at rio grande medical for the past 5 years going on 6 years. The one place that I don't give a good review would be the urgent care receptionist, they lock the door at 7;30 and they close at 8 there was no cleaning done, but as far as rio grande medical I will always recommend anyone to go check them out.. good family doctors and Dr. Kahn with asthma and allergies

I posted a bad review here by mistake. The bad review was intended for Rio Grande Medical Group on E. Lohman, not the clinic (listed above) on N. Telshor. Unfortunately, insiderpages doesn't allow users to remove a review.

Dr. Herndan, and all the doctors affiliated with the Rio Grande Group have been wonderful. I really feel lucky to have found them for my son. It is so convinent and their staff is so helpful. Great place to take your children for care.

PROS: Tons of doctors, all good, making services more available
CONS: You'll probably find your fit and want to stick with one doc, not a con
