I have found a number of beautiful native american art pieces in the large gift shop. Their prices are very reasonable for the quality of the items. They have sand paints, pottery, and many other forms of Native American art. The staff will also take the time to explain the signifigance of certain markings on the different pieces of art. There is also a nice little restuarant in the center.

If you only have time to visit one museum in Albuquerque, this is it. There is nothing like it anywhere else. I was there 11 years ago and revisited two weeks ago. Because it was Balloon Fiesta week in Albuquerque, they had live dance performances every day, not just on weekends. They also had an arts and crafts show and sale all around the courtyard. We had a great lunch in the restaurant.

even the architecture of the building evokes Pueblo tribal atmosphere. arts, music, dance, and thoughtfully arranged and annotated displays offer unique, inspiring, and fascinating perspective on this part of Native American culture
