MMM! I love the green chile here! The Stuffed Sopapillas with green chile was very good. I also enjoy sitting outside on a nice day. The server was also very friendly!

Cheap and good. Really wonderful green chile. My husband goes for the pork adovada. I go for the green chile cheese enchilada. We're always happy. The sopaipillas are perfect!

Okay first thing's first,El Patio is the worst Mexican restaurant in Albuquerque. The service is the worst service I have ever had in my entire life.It took 30 minutes to get a my dish, and not to mention after I waited for 30 minutes my food was cold, very cold. After I got my food I saw a person whom I assumed to be a manager come out onto the floor and scream at an employee in front of the entire restaurant, using quite a few curse words as well, which very much offended me.I also saw a No Smoking sign out front and as I was walking into the restaurant I saw a man who told me he was the owner sitting on the patio with a manager {the same manager who yelled at the employee in front of everybody},both were smoking.
Bottom line this El Patio is Terrible with a Capital T/

Pros: Nice Location.

Cons: Food is soaked in grease, service is horrible,Bad Bad Bad

TheCHILI is excellent!! There are vegitarian and even Vegan options. I have been told by El patio staff that whole wheat tortillas are dairy and animal product free and so are the beans AND chili(red and green).
The service...
The service has been bad with one or two particular servers but, if the few others who are good help a bit. the experience is usually great.
I Love eating there, I always feel more than satisfied. The prices for la carte plates are so affordable, and it is plenty of food.

Pros: Amazing chili and vegan friendly

Cons: small and slightly dingy

My wife and I eat at El Patio all the time. It a really nice little place, set up in an old house near the University. As far as the food goes, the Carne Adovada is fantastic, the Red Chile is great and the Green's no slouch either. Their Fajitas hits the spot every time.
I have only a couple complaints about the place, first: the service is ALWAYS terrible. Different staff every time, it doesnt matter. One time our waitress left in the middle of our meal to go get lunch! We had to find another waiter to refill our drinks, get our check, etc. When she comes back she sits down with her food at a table and starts BSing with a friend. We're still waiting to pay our check. Every time there it is something like this.
Another minor quip is that the Sopapillas are pretty lame, flat and thin. Theres almost nothing to them. Also, the prices are probably $1-2 more than the should be on each item. But overall, the quality of the food at El Patio is pretty damn good so we continue to come back, despite the service.

Pros: tasty food, nice atmosphere

Cons: service is always lousy

Highly recommended by locals, El Patio is small, but has excellent authentic New Mexican food. I went there with a large group of friends. The service was good - though a bit short - the place was packed, but very helpful and expedient. The drink list is not extremely impressive, but the food was one of the best things I have ever had, albeit very simple too. I write about food for a living, so I have tried all sorts of cuisine. This really was exceptional - not fancy, fussy or even elegant, but homemade and very good. I highly recommend this restaurant. Get there early and get a table outside to make it a very memorable exerience! (They do not take reservations.)

I had the combo plate with green sauce. Several of my friends had the chicken enchiladas (recommended highly by friends who live there) with green salsa. Both were so good you wanted to lick your plate. (I was sick when we went, hardly wanting to eat anything, but if I had room I would have had seconds! It was that good.)

Pros: Great prices, excellent food, good service, lively environment

Cons: Was a little hard to find, off a main street, otherwise no cons.

Wow! the food here is amazing. The service is outstanding, freindly, and professional. Prices are great. No credit cards, but get this, they take checks! Check out the art inside, pretty cutting edge stuff for such a cute little restaurant. Six stars in my book.

Pros: service, food, art music

Cons: no credit cards

The food is acceptable, but the service is so poor that it affects the entire meal.
