Reviews for Nancy's Quilt Shop

Ratings_icons From a local's point of view...Great store

Another beautiful store - worth the trip to the east side of town. Friendly, knowledgeable staff...and absolute stunning array of fabrics! Their Asian section is to "die for", and they always have the newest lines available. Clearance room is not to be missed. Knitting section with equally beautiful yarns. Have taken classes there and would recommend ANY of their teachers! "Class Act" store!

Ratings_icons Love this store

Betty J.

Was recently in Las Vegas and taken to Nancy's Quilt Store with a quilt tour. They were in last year's Better Home's and Gardens Shop Hop magazine, so I was very excited to get to go there. The store was everything I had hoped it would be. Beautiful store with all the newest fabric lines. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and a back room full of clearance fabrics! They also have an area that caters to knitters and knit-alongs. If I lived in Las Vegas, it would definitely be the place to go. Thank you Nancy's Quilt Shop. Betty J., St. Charles, MO

Ratings_icons Best place in Las Vegas to learn quilting

CINDY R. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 444

All my life I have wanted to learn to quilt. But what with working and raising a family I just never found the time. All that I ever asked for at Christmas or birthdays were quilts. One of the first things that I did when we retired and moved to Las Vegas was to look for a place that teaches quilting. I first enrolled in a place that was very close to our new home. But after attending a few classes they cancelled and returned my money as they did not have enough people signed-up to continue the classes. My next try was at Nancy's Quilt Shop.
However, it is located clear across town and kinda "out' aways from mainstream Las Vegas. I called first to make sure that they would not cancel classes since the drive was such a distance. I was so pleased with the entire shop,as all of the employee's knew how to quilt and the classes were full.
I learned so much about quilting just in the first night that I went to class. The store is fabulously stocked with the most beautiful fabric that I had ever seen. I selected the perfect material for the kind of quilt that I had always wanted. It was so much fun as everyone was there to learn & we had alot to talk about. It reminded of the old "quilting bee's". They also sell books on quilting so I bought a book and used it at home when I quilted there. I did notice that the finished quilts that they sell in the store are very very expensive. During our breaks in quilting class i wonered around the shop & noticed that they sell alot of sewing notions. The entire shop is clean, full of beautiful fabric and other "homey" things that make your home comfortable. The classes were not expensive and I now have a quilt that I made myself and the classes cost me less than the quilts that are for sale in the store!! I admit that I am not the perfect quilter and I am thinking of signing up for the more advanced class instead of the beginners class. This is a great store for people who like to sew and not just the quilters .

PROS: Easy to learn to quilt lessons. Well stocked fabric store
CONS: Too far from the heart of Las vegas

Ratings_icons Calling all Quilters--this is quilter heaven.

Donna W. | insider Insider | Rank: 23,506

Nancy's Quilt Shop has only been open for a couple of years but has built a solid reputation with quilters in the Las Vegas valley. Nancy's shop is run by quilters for quilters. Staff are all quilters themselves and are very knowledgeable. They are eager to assist the beginner and a source of friendly information and advice for the intermediate or advanced quilter.

I don't know how many bolts of fabric Nancy's Quilt Shop has but it is truly eye candy for the quilter. The selections are beautifully displayed with coordinating fabrics close at hand. If you can't find a particular shade or pattern, just ask. The staff is always ready and willing to help. The "clearance" room in the back always has something wonderful to offer. The batik selection alone makes this store a worthwhile trip.

The only unfortunate part of this store is it's location. It is quite a distance from anything other than Summerlin or North Las Vegas. I live in Henderson and therefore cannot make the trek on a regular basis due to the cost of gas these days. However, whenever I hear that a friend is up for an adventure, we make it a point to go to Nancy's Quilt Shop.

PROS: Excellent fabric selection, helpful staff, beautiful displays
CONS: Remorte location, slightly expensive.
