My son and his wife were married there this past November. Sunset Gardens is an awesome place, and Tony Hulsey, the owner- operator knows how to pay attention to detail. We were mostly all from out of town; however, our son and his wife live in Vegas. Because we were mostly from out of town, there were many details to which we had to attend at the last minute. Tony had our backs covered, and he was able to pick up on the little details for which we did not have enough time to finish such as name tags for seating. The place looked beautiful with our daughter-in-law's colors displayed magnificently. The food was excellent, and there was an abundance of it. All of the other preparations such as photography and video went smoothly as done by Tony's people. I can hardly wait to see the photos. Thanks, Tony, for treating us like royalty, and for having everything come off as a smashing success. Maxine W. G.

Then I HIGHLY suggest you try Sunset Gardens (www.sunsetgardens.com)!!! After checking out a bunch of Vegas places and seeing the amount they were gonna charge for every little piece of the wedding, we were getting pretty down that we weren't gonna be able to afford the wedding unless we went through a little drive thru place or something. But my fianc and I found Sunset and ended up having our wedding here and we were NOT disappointed!!
Everything was organized and pretty much taken care of for us. The food was great, the decorations were beautiful, and the fact that everything is included in the packages they have (including a fully OPEN BAR) were all just some of the great things about Sunset. They have beautiful twinkle lights outside which made for a great back drop, I can't wait to get my pictures back from this past weekend!! The staff that were onsite the day of the wedding were very accommodating and helped us be sure that everything was just right. Sharon was very patient and accommodating when planning and doing the rehearsal with us. She really made me feel comfortable and I knew that I could trust that things would go right. And that's hard for a planning person like me!! Tony was there the entire night and kept coming by to be sure that everything was OK and that we ate (it really was something I didn't think they would have to tell us, but we needed it!).
Having all the necessities for wedding planning in the same center was great too! I got my nails, hair, & make-up done right there at Joleon's, the flowers next door at Petals, and my dress pressed at Bowtie (they charged me $60 and had it hanging in the bridal suite on the wedding day for me) - not to mention I found GREAT shoes that I had been looking for unsuccessfully for 2 months and they were on sale for $20!!!
We got a group rate at the Courtyard Marriott less then 1 mile from Sunset, they hooked us up with a great bridal suite at the same discounted rate, and they even shuttled all the guests from the Marriott to Sunset on the wedding day for free!!! And if you're pasty white like me, I would suggest you check out Bronzed (across the street from the Hard Rock Hotel) to get spray tanned for $45. We did it the day before and I think it REALLY made a difference!! And if you're honeymoon is right after the wedding, you'll already be tanned!
Since we could only extend the reception until about 9:30pm, we had a bunch of folks from out of town, and we were in VEGAS, we decided to do an after party. We went with the Eyecandy Lounge @ Mandalay Bay. It was perfect since it wasn't that far from Sunset, there was no cover charge to get in, it was right in the middle of the casino so some of the guys could go & gamble while the gals shook their booties, and the music mix was pretty good!
The one thing I would say, however, is if there are specific songs that you would like to hear during your ceremony/reception, just bring a CD with those songs on it. My fianc is Mexican and the DJ (and yes, he's really bad at calling you back but mainly because I think he has been doing it so long that he doesn't really need to talk to you until a week or two out) didn't have the genre of music that we preferred to listen to. I had emailed him a song list of ALL the songs we wanted to hear and I think we might have heard like 10 of them and that's it. My burner wouldn't work at the last minute so I couldn't bring a CD with my songs on it but the important songs he had (like our first dance and the father/daughter song) and the Latin music he did have got our guests up & dancing - it became a dance off too:) But I missed hearing a lot of great songs I specifically picked out. If you're the same way, bring a CD so you don't have to worry about not hearing them.
But it was an awesome time! All my guests enjoyed themselves and can't stop talking about how great it was! Even 2 couples that recently got married told us we totally out did them and we didn't even pay that much!!! Thanks Sunset!!!

I was married at Sunset Gardens August 23rd, 2008. Overall I was happy with everything. The only complaint would be some of the phone communications with Tony and how late everything was put on. Because of the difficulties with Tony he offered an addition 1/2 houron the reception.
I had a package deal and I was slightly disappointed with services received from Petals (which shocked me because they were a The Knots pick), Jolean spa, and the photography place.
The head table arrangement was NOT what I expected to pay almost $100 for at all. It was very small. Some of the roses in my bouquet had brown edges and were dying... I didn't know where my throw bouquet was until the DJ told me he had it. It did not seem well coordinated.
Joleaon salon and spa was an experience in itself. My hairdresser was quite rude and insulted when I asked for my hair to washed. My hair gets really frizzy when not washed and styled and she didn't do it... needless to say it was frizzy just as I suspected AND I paid way more than I expected. The website says bridal updos start at $75 and are based off length if price goes up and if the style is complicated. I have hair that falls just below the shoulder and was charged 100.00! My hair was put into hot roll curlers and 1/2 was pinned up. Especially with the attitude I received and the end result I was NOT happy. It was not even close to $100 in worth.
I also had my make up done at the salon and it was worth every penny. The woman who handled my makeup was really nice and fun and if it wasn't for her I would swear off the place to everyone.
The pictures were ok. He did not seem to take flattering shots. I have pictures from the professional and other people and the overall average I what I liked was higher in the non-professional pictures. I also called the photography place and was pressured to buy a package deal for 380.00 (including shipping) before the wedding even happened. I declined because of that. At the time I was told that they would take 400-500 pictures and it was the best deal because I would get all the pictures in print .... otherwise .... they would pic 50 they liked and mail them to me without me ever seeing them.
The man who shot the photos seemed really annoyed to even be there and not sociable at all. He actually made me feel uncomfortable a lot of the time. I ended up buying a CD for cheaper than $300 (the guy was really nice who showed us the pics when we went in after the wedding) but we had a lot of duplicate shots and the total we received on the disk was 340... not 400-500. We have duplicates of almost every picture and sometimes in threes. Also.. not sure if this is part of professional photography but blemishes were not removed or covered... like a big red one on the side of my husbands head... We did have several pictures we really liked. About 40 of the pictures we picked to get printed for a wedding album and gifts.
Now ... the dealings with Sunset Gardens .... The Reverend was AMAZING!! He was the perfect person I pictured to marry us. I wouldn't have asked for anyone else. The place is beautiful! It was much nicer than I expected as I planned everything out of state. Tony did a good job of matching and picking colors from the swatches I sent him.
The DJ is a lifesaver and had wonderful music. He kept the party rolling. He even had a garter for me when mine was locked in the chapel. He had any music I wanted and was really friendly. He really went out of his way to make sure everything was running smoothly.
The food was great and the wait staff was amazing. Everything was really nice and the evening ended really well. I just wish it was earlier then when we had it because we are from a different time zone. Everyone left before it was over :( because they were tired.
Overall I would recommend it... I just feel that some of the services involved with the package should be brought out to the attention of those who are considering using them. If I had to redo it I would change the florist and salon. I would still stick with the photographer just.... don't buy anything in advance! Also, if you are coming in from another state in a different time zone try to get in to have your wedding before 8:00pm.
Again ... the place is absolutely beautiful, breathtaking, and elegant. We got married in the chapel and had our reception in the sunset room. I have higher standards and wanted something that was not the norm traditional wedding. I wanted class and elegance which I feel I received having my wedding there.

I have driven past Sunset Gardens almost everyday for 4 years and each time, I had thought that would be a great place to get married. Well, April 6, 2008 I had the wedding of my dreams. It was more then I could have imagined. The chapel was beautifully set up. With the trees in the courtyard lit up through the windows, adds that something extra to the photos. The reception service was just as amazing. If anyone asks me a good place to get married, I will tell them to go to Sunset Gardens!!! The staff is very professional and walks you through the process of what you have to do and keeps you on track. No worry involved, except for nerves of the big moment!! That's all I had to worry about, the nerves. Pass the word, Sunset Gardens is the place to go!!!!

I recently got married at Sunset Gardens. I was constantly contacting them around their "Deadline" times to make sure everything was in order, only to find out things were not always going as they should. Their florist was awfully rude and acted as if she has better things to do, but their florist is part of the "package". The day of my wedding, my "wedding coordinator" was busy showing another couple my reception and even allowing them to taste the food and the chocolate fountain. They saw nothing wrong with it and were upset when they were asked to leave.
I wish I would have had more information on this place before I got married there, I wouldn't recommend anything about Sunset Gardens EXCEPT Michelle's Bridal. She was fabulous!

I planned my perfect day, our wedding for about a year, and we looked at many places, and made the decision to have our wedding at Sunset Gardens, the menu, bar, DJ, services offered, were only a fraction of the reason we choose Sunset Gardens, it was about 80% due to the people, Tony (owner) and Sharon (our wedding coordinator) were the most down to earth, caring people, they gave us great ideas on the set up of the room, to linen choices on what would make my flowers stand out on table's, to calling me about every week as we got closer to the date to ask questions about what we wanted, to finalizing the menu. Sharon was unable to attend our wedding due to a family event she had priory planned, so Michelle was there the day of the wedding, I was so nervous to walk down that aisle, but she answered every questions (that I asked about 5 times), whit no hesitation and just kept me on track. We had a great time dancing the night away, the food was great, my guest loved having an open bar, the cake was SO good. The wait staff was very attentive to our needs, we had such a great time, but before we knew if the night was over. Once we got back from our honeymoon, and back to work, we had so many compliments from our friends and family, on how great everything look, and turned out. My maid-of-honor, had attended two other weddings there and told me, mine was the best one, I took the advice of Tony and Sharon and it paid off, after all there the experts that plan weddings all day long, and they help my husband and I hit a home run!! I just cant believe that after my year of planning it all came and went by so fast! But I have so many great memories about my day, nothing went wrong, there were all smiles, and one happy bride and groom!!!!

First and foremost, I am quite shocked about some of the reviews on this website. Sunset Gardens was an absolutely wonderful experience for me and my wife.
My wife (then fiancee) and I had been looking for a great place to get married for quite some time. We were thinking about going back home to Montana and have a wedding there, and then we found this place. We were astonished (my wife especially) when we saw the gardens and the chapel. Tony Hulsey (who is the owner of this fine facility and was our coordinator for our wedding) was exceptional. A very classy and thoughtful man.
This place took care of everything for us; all my wife had to do was pick her wedding dress. The staff who work there are very helpful and kind. Our wedding day couldn't had been better. I had many of my friends come talk to me after the ceremony talking about how wonderful this place was. The food was great, and the DJ did everything right.
Overall, I 100% recommend having your wedding here. My wife and I will never forget the experience that we had here. I think this place is definitely the best in Las Vegas by far.

don't get me wrong the building is nice, so's the chapel, but thats as far as it goes. they tell you they will handle everything so you won't have any worries, thats what your paying them for, well lets see. they told us to be there at certain times. ok. we show up don't see a wedding coordinator anywhere. don't know where they put the flower basket, ring pillow etc. the minister shows up we're ready to get situated, thank god we used or own minister even though they will provide one, he was the best part of the wedding. anyway now the guest are showing up, still no coordinator. finally after 30 minutes of searching and waiting here comes someone that actually works there. he says he's working the other wedding there tonight to, so one guy is covering both , that will make sure everythings smooth, ey. well he finally introduces himself then goes to try and find the previous items i mentioned, cause he had no idea where they actually were. ok. well the $500 in flowers for all the bride and grooms party's are just laying in the middle of a table in the lobby . no one to help with putting them on and some where even missing. finally the wedding . the minister made everything good. that went smooth. guests went on to the reception. we stayed for pictures. word of advice, don't use the photographer or florist associated with sunset gardens , you won't be happy. the kid taking the pictures is rude and after seeing the pictures my kid took better. on to the reception. dj was ok. he was supposed to set in motion everything i was assuming, you know the bride and groom song, father daughter dance , cutting the cake, etc., since the coordinator wasn't there. thank god for the best man i didn't have to deal with most things . he took care of it. just a few things on the reception. we had asked for some tables and chairs outside on the patio for the older family that smoked. they weren't there. the father of the bride comes up to me ,the groom, asking why they are running out of food. now not everybody had showed up and we where only an hour into the reception. and i remember asking the lady when we booked everything we won't have to worry about the food running out will we, there was no issue paying extra. oh yes i was later told by my wife there was no champagne in the dressing room. one more thing that was promised that5 wasn't received. now let me say , the coordinator that was there was very polite and tried to fill my wishes on the things that should have been already taking care of. it probably wasn't all his fault. the owners or managers should have taken more care in the way things are run. customer service in business will make or break you. and the service in weddings should be right up there with 5 star hotels just for the fact its a wedding. word of mouth goes a long way. well a couple days later i talked to the lady manager or owner, don't know which and gave her a earful about everything. all i got was i'm sorry. well i guess they got my money and they don't need my repeat business. i'm already married. my advice to anyone looking for a wedding and reception . don't stop by here.

I recently attended a wedding at Sunset Gardens in Las Vegas. I do alot of business in Vegas. I would say I'm here anywhere between 4-6 months. I've never seen service like the service we received at sunset gardens. The Photographers and wedding coordinator that was assigned to our wedding were the only people that were nice. The rest of the staff was a bunch of jerks. All promises were not fulfilled. The food was promised to stay out, dinner started at 6:00 and was suppose to stay out til 8:00, but only stayed out till 6:45. The program that was put together was dramatically shortened by there in house DJ. The place was paid for in full till 10:00. The staff literally was yelling at the guest at 9:00 to get out. "I told you to leave" one crew member shouted. The age of the people at this party averaged 35 to 40. Throughout the night Tony Hulsey would pop in and remind my friend about closing time. He must have mentioned it 5 or 6 times. Throughout the party I heard comments about the bartender making rude remarks about the tips he was receiving. My friend seemed completely dumbfounded. She told me that Tony Hulsey in the beginning was very inviting and accommodating, and soon after he received payment in full it all changed. What bothered me the most is this suppose to be a special night for 2 people professing there love for one another. On top of that they paid for it, and couldn't get descent service. Ive had better service at Mcdonalds than at that place it was comparable to the DMV. This guy Tony Hulsey has no class. He charged my friend over 10,000 and treated most of the guest like cattle herding us out 30 minutes prior to closing time, "I said get out of here". I have to say the place is decorated nice, but the service was horrible, Tony Hulsey treated my friends like they were second class, and worst of all it was there wedding day.

I went to my friends wedding that was held here. It was a very nice service. The people there were great, helping me (as maid of honor) get everything the bride needed. When the bride dropped the champagne and it exploded over everyone's dress before the ceremony they were very helpful.

Perfect for smallish weddings. They have an outdoor gazebo area for the wedding and then a really nice banquet room for the reception. The food is pretty good and there is plenty of parking. I think they have 3 other locations, which are all a little bit different, but the prices are reasonable. It's nice to be able to do the wedding and reception at the same place so you and your guests don't have to shuttle from one place to the next. The gazebo area is great for pictures. The staff is friendly and efficient. There was no one crossing through the wedding area to finish up the banquet area.
