Cox in Las Vegas is really bad. Up till 2 years ago I would loose my internet connection any time the wend blew or it rained. I would put in a service call and of course they came out one or two days latter, it would be calm and the sun was shining. The answer was always the same, ??There doesn??t seem to be a problem?. Two years ago I switched to ??Clear? for my internet. It has been relative good, better than Cox. It rides on the Sprint wireless network and since Sprint got the iPhone I have been throttled. I am now trying a third provider but since I live in a condo, Cox says the box outside the condo is there??s, by law they have to allow another party to access the box to make a cable connection that inters the condo, but they are being a real pain. I am trying for my second instillation in a few days, cox is suppose to come out and open the box. I would bet that they don??t. It is the only way they can keep customers. If I could give them a negative number ratting I would.

In this day and age COX should be able to compete financially with other providers. I emailed COX to inform them I can no longer afford the high basic cable and high speed internet costs as I am paying $130 for both. COX replied with the following:
"We have appreciated serving you and regret that we will no longer have that opportunity. We will need the following information in order to process your disconnection. Please reply to this email with the requested disconnection date (cannot backdate), the reason for the disconnection and a forwarding address for the final bill or refund."
That's it COX? No fighting for my business? Completely disappointed in their lack of concern to lose a loyal 5+ yr customer!!

When we moved to Las Vegas a year ago, our high speed internet was paid for by my husband's work through their corporate account. Twice, in the first 6 months, our internet was cut off without notice. Turns out the installers would be in the area changing service, and see that we were receiving high speed internet service, check with the residential service dept., see that there was not a residential account at our address, and take it upon themselves to disconnect our service. It was a royal pain. 8 months later, my husband was laid off, and the company contacted Cox to disconnect service. We called up to activate a residential service contract. Even though all equipment was staying exactly the same, they had to send out a commercial person to uninstall the service, then a residential person to install the service. Guess what happened....the residential guy showed up first, and after 45 minutes on the phone with the commercial department, was able to "transfer" the modem to residential service. He was a class act guy, and is the only bright spot in my experience with Cox. Luckily, he left his cell number with me, because the idiots at the commercial department failed to contact their guy to not bother and show up as the residential guy did all his work for him. He showed up about an hour later, didn't bother to knock at my door, and just disconnected my service that the residential guy had just connected, then left. I saw him as he drove away, and figured out what happened. I called the residential installer, who took time to come out and re-install our service later that afternoon. It was a whole day wasted due to the lack of communication and un-needed redundancy of Cox's business.

Now, as we prepare to move out of state, I find out that we have to deal with Cox Las Vegas to disconnect our service, then contact Cox in our new city to schedule installation. Guess what? After 8 months of nothing but headaches with Cox, we've decided not to bother with them any more. AND, Cox expects us to call to disconnect our service on the day of our move. Seriously? You can't schedule a disconnect in advance? I'm expected to remember to call and cancel our cable internet in addition to the myriad of other things I'm going to be doing as I move?

Don't bother with Cox. They are one headache after another.

Well moved my existing service to my new address. My new house was built in 2007 and had no cable running from the street to the home but the house is already pre-wired for everything. What did it cost?- 23.96 for an additional outlet. Well talked to the company and being passed around for 40 minutes asking what an additional outlet means becasue there were no drilling or additional wiring of any kind only to get no real answer. Got into a battle of words where the rep was searching for any way to validate that charge. Like well is the modem wired to the main room of the house or did you want the modem in another room of the house and etc. Well dumbass, the house is prewired with a smart box I tell him. Meaning you just take the incoming demarcation cable that has the cable service and I directly connected it to my modem which is then connected to a wireless router. I only use cable for internet so no reason to have cable in all rooms of the house. Well the rep then says well really due to poor coding the tech selected additional outlet but really it is for an activation charge. Whatever shitbags. New customers and customers who move aren't suppose to have activation charges. Cox sucks, their service sucks, as soon as I find a replacement I will. Zero stars

Get this I called to cut back on services and they told me ok but I would be charged until I returned the box, OK. I get a bill a couple of weeks later I procrastinate and its for the entire amount $125. so I call them up the representative gets really nasty with me on the phone telling me I am going to pay for everything until that box is turned in I told her that wasn't right I can't and haven't been able to get those channels for some time and then she really gets nasty I called her a smartass but she got me back we came home last night and this Cox customer service representative put in the notes I told her to cut the whole thing off and turned in a disconnect order for the entire service. Of course technical support won't send anyone out at night because they have a vengful employee so now I am at their mercy probably won't have cable when I get home tonight either.

I called Cox and told them I was considering cancelling service, because my bill was too high. To keep me as a customer they lowered the bill by like 40% for a year. They also gave me free HBO and said they appreciated me being a customer. It's company philosophy's like this that continue making me a satisfied customer. Oh and the service is good too.

I just called Cox and ask for an explanation of the additional charges on my bill. After 35 minutes and 4 people that had no idea of how or where these charges came from I gave up.Also I ordered their telephone after receiving a letter addressed to me offering free installation. I called them, mentioned the letter and told I was getting free installation. After it was installed I was billed $19.95 for installation. I called them and their response was,, well the person installing it didn't tell us it was free installation, so they decided not to honor their agreement.

I had my cox cable and internet installed. I moved from new york to Las Vegas. I called them around november 28 and they said they will install it on dec 3. I asked the customer service specifically how much I will be paying and if there is any extra charge for the installation and modem plus cable box and the person said no. so we agreed that I will be paying around 66$ plus tax. When the bill came on December, I was billed 359$!. For the installation, modem, and the cable box.

I am very unhappy with their digital phone service. It is not running smoothly. They installed and phone had no connection after one day. They fixed it after two days then after two days, phone is dead again. Ask them to fixed it ASAP but no accommodation was done. We had to wait again for couple of days. Right or wrong? They just have poor customer service and customer satisfaction. I hope they will fixed there problem. Charge too much for everything. I ask them to cancel service as I am very very unhappy. And you know what? They charge $20 to pick up the modem!!! Clean your act COX!

I moved to las vegas from indiana. I wasnt familiar with the cable companies in this city so i chose cox. I figured how bad could it be. Well needless to say it was very bad. To begin with said they would ship me the digital box for my television and i could hook it up myself well that is a new concept to me. I thought cable companies has installation techs to do them things. I had to wait all day on the ups guy. Well i missed him and then they refused to pick the box back up without charging me a service fee. Fine whatever. I get high speed internet and digital phone with free long distance. My total bill for high speed internet and phone and cable is 140 a month way to high. The internet speeds are ok but i have had much better. When i go to move out and cancel my service. i tell them a date to shut it off and then also ask them when they plan on picking up the equipment they tell me they can pick it up on wednesday the 20th. Well i say fine what window time should i wait. They tell me it could be any time between 8am to 7pm. Hardly a window of time. This is unacceptable its there equipment do they want it back or not. I say whatever and agree to it. The day comes and i wait all day finally i call around 5pm. The rep. says the order wasnt put in for pickup just cancelation. I am mad at this point and want to speak to a manager. She says that the manager is busy and he will have to call me back this isnt acceptable either i wait on the phone. He comes on and basically says nothing helpful and expects me to wait all day again for pickup well im leaving on a plane and cant wait all day again. I have had service with 2 other cable companies and the service cox communication offers is horrible and unacceptable I am very surprised they aren't bankrupt.

My firewall was flashing and I had no idea what to do. The representative from Cox Internet walked me through and helped me correct the problem in just a few minutes.

PROS: Help is there

What I like about Cox Communications is their digital converter. I can pause live TV and I can tape one show while watching another. I get quite a bit of recording hours in order to save previously taped shows. The channels will cost you about 40 dollars and the entire package with the digital converter is 50 dollars. It's definitely worth it.

Also, I purchased a baseball package. So, I can see all the baseball games everyday except for the local blackout. However, those teams are often shown locally anyway. I am a Chicago Cub fan and I see probably 99 percent of all their games. They are on Comcast and WGN. I will generally watch the NL Central teams such as St Louis, Cincinnati, Houston, Pittsburgh, and Milwaukee when I'm not watching the Cubs. If you like baseball as much as I do, you will love this package from Cox. GO CUBS !!! ...oh and Derrick Lee is the MVP, not Pujols.

This is our first time to have Cox Cable service. We have had it for approximately 6 months, and I don't know if we'd choose them again. The only reason for that statement is because when we have a problem with our digital cable, I've stayed on hold on the phone for 30 to 45 minutes at a time. Then I am "transferred" to someone else because they can't help me. It's like they may be growing faster than they can handle.

PROS: Services offered are good.
CONS: Resolving problems over the phone can take hours.
