Cool lights.

by Michael T. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 308

They have a fascinating light show and lots of access to drinks all night long. Great place for tourist and for friendly fun on a Friday night. Also, this is where Chris Angel does his stunts sometimes.

Fun

by Linda B. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,469

Freemont Street, part of old Vegas is a neat spot to visit. The show on the ceiling is really cool. The last time we went down to Freemont Street they were filming CSI Las Vegas there so we got to watch. The shops are a little tacky, normal tourist stuff. This definetly a place you have to see when in Vegas.

Light Show

by Susan K. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 9,875

This is an amazing experience! Get off the main strip and enjoy one of Vegas' other great features! Old downtown Vegas is a must-see for all. First off there is like a canopy over the entire block; which is actually a screen for a light show. The light show changes from a space scene to a jungle picture. Truly awesome. The hotels on this block are also cheaper and have 99 cent drinks. I tend to find that the souvenirs are cheaper here too. THe only problem is that you can't walk here; it's too far-so find a bus or taxi.

Great light show, interesting shopping

by James C. | insider Insider | Rank: 13,498

The light shows at the Fremont Street Experience are always fascinating. While waiting for the show to begin, you can enjoy shopping in one of the many Las Vegas souvenir gift shows or perhaps step into one of the downtown Las Vegas casinos to gamble a little or have a drink. There is also a nice live music club near the parking lot entrance to the Experience.

Nice free entertainment

by Nick D. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,881

If this is your first time in Vegas then I would say check it out just to say you had been there and seen "old Vegas". The light show and music is pretty good and for the price (FREE!) it is quite a bargin!

Great shows

by Sarah S. | insider Insider | Rank: 13,108

The music is bumping and the lights are awesome. I took my daughter when she was like 4 months old and she LOVED it. The only thing thats bad about it is all the homeless people walking around and the people on drugs. The carts are good too..they carry lots of stuff of interest.

The biggest TV screen around

by Michelle Y. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 12,671

When people come to visit from out of town, I have to take them to the Fremont Experience. This was no exception with a date that had come out to Vegas for the first time in 5 years. We had gone to see a show and then walked over to the Fremont Street Experience. We had been talking about race cars all afternoon, and low and behold when the Experience started, it was a race car show.... We both looked at each other and laughed.. We really enjoyed the show and it made the evening extra memorable.

Freemont Street Show

by Ryan P. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,499

They have upgraded the Fremont Street Experience and now it is better that ever. Now its so clear you can watch tv on the huge 5 block screen. I think its the biggest in the world. They have a variety of shows that play every 30 minutes. This is a must see if you come to vegas. Beware, downtown vegas is a little scary.

Carnival Atmosphere

by Sharon M. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,015

This is located in Old Downtown Las Vegas. It has a modern look but you still get a carnival party. There are several casinos you can spend your money in, several places to eat and several shops you can shop in. There is an overhead screen that covers the broadwalk and at certain times a day a light show with music is presented. It is really quite amazing. They have free music concerts that features great artists on the broadwalk. There are things the kids can do too. I feel it is a must if you visit Vegas.

Very nice to take tourist friends

by Bart A. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,167

This is great place to take your out of towners. Thanks to Mayor Oscar and others it is cleaner and safer than the old days. Lots of vendor booths and carnival type hawkers trying to get your attention. Great people watching place.

A lovely light show

by Bonnie R. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,250

Fremont Street Experience is about a block and a half long leading through the center of downtown Las Vegas. It is, as you might expect, on Fremont Street. At one time that was just an ordinary street, but quite a few years ago it was domed so that it now looks enclosed and on the ceiling, just under the dome are hundreds of thousands of lights and in the middle of the night it looks like daylight. Not only are there lights, but they are animated and there are shows every night. The street is filled with people looking up. There are several 7 or 8 minute shows per night and it really is spectacular. In addition to the light show there are many kiosks, souvenir shops and it looks very glitzy and, I think, on the cheap side. The hotels are, in my mind, no match for the more expensive and more elegant strip hotels and the people who are there seem to be much more touristy and casual. Binyon's is there, the Golden Nugget is there, the Plaza and Lady Luck Hotel is right there.

PROS: Electrifying light show
CONS: too many people -- hold on to your wallet when you are looking up.

Downtown at it's finest!

by Patricia M. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,846

This has got to be one of the nicest night time attractions. It is a rather recent attraction. They have turned Fremont Street into a mini-mall. They have all types of venders and markets there. They are constintly having some kind of event to draw people downtown. You can also enter all of the old favorite casino's. At night, comes their best concept yet. you are visually entertained with dancing light shows, all throughout the night.
During christmas, Santa even takes a trip down to Fremont Street. It is amazing to see what has been done to Downtown Las vegas. It is definitly a beautiful addition to our city.
