Best Buy is Good People
by Dan M.
I had a problem with my order for Home Theatre service a few months ago. The manager was so apologetic that she said to come in and see here for an additional 10% off. Well, I came in a couple days ago and she was not there, but another manager honored what she told me. I was very satisfied and will definitely recommend.

Everytime you're looking for a deal on electronics or DVD movies, this is the place to go. They have recently seemed to staff more employees so there is always someone there to help you. Good place to get an iPod inexpensively.

This store is great for everyday stuff, but when it comes to their ad in the paper they always semm to run out and don't have anymore. You would think for such a big store they would have plenty, but not the case here.

I have been in this Best Buy over and over again. I bought a surround sound speaker system from them and several odds and ends to set it up. Every time I walk in I get greated by a staff member. No matter what department I am in there is always someone there asking me if I need any help. Every staff member I have talked to has really known what they are talking about and what I need. I really enjoy this Best Buy and have told others about it.

Offering items not needed

I recently purchased a computer and the display that I told the sales associate that I wanted to purchase is not what was brought home. They also sold me additional items that were not needed because they were already installed on the computer. Guess what? They will not take these items back, not even for store credit because it's been over 30 days. The items are unopened packages which should be able to be returned.

I recently had occasion to visit my local Best Buy, looking for various items. I obtained most of the items I needed, but was unable to locate one of them. I sought an employee's assistance, and after seeking one out, was pleased that he was able to assist me.
PROS: Variety of items
CONS: Staff shortage

the only thing to say about geek squad it sucks, we went in ther to fix laptop, this guy is like well is going to cost you this, and this, and this, so just when i though there will not be anymore charges, he puts another one, and is not all about pricing, they did not recomment the right spy ware, like they did not other customers, instead they di nto tell us, plus we had to take it back again, because they did not fix it, and charged us again
PROS: none
CONS: everythying

as a first time computer and lap top owner i took my lap top in to the geek squad because it just wasnt working right and i knew i had viruses. i was told by them that i had so many viruses and spy ware that my whole operating system would have to be wiped clean. which i agreed to. the total price was $236.00 when i picked up my laptop a week later i talked to the worker behind the counter and let him know i didnt know anything about computers, no facial expression, no reply. he just set it on the counter for me to pick up and then he turned his back on me. less than a month later it crashed again. i brought it back and the guy tells me i need my operating system wiped. i said i just did that. then another guy working there heard us and turned to me to help. he said well it looks like the problem is that you dont have the spysweeper or the norton antivirus and the spyware program you have is just spyware in itself. i said how can that be because we bought it here? he wouldnt answer me. i said well someone should have told me the last time i was in here. i let the worker know i needed help at that time. my pleas fell on deaf ears. they charged me another $198.93 for getting rid of my spyware again and for the cost of the two spyware cleaners installed. the thing is i wouldnt have had to pay the extra couple hundred had i been informed the first time that i needed those 2 programs installed. i still have spyware(although it isnt as bad, i am not crashing) and after i got it back now my yahoo chat doesnt work anymore.
PROS: none
CONS: very expensive, had to pay twice for the same service

Overpriced and unreliable service.

I would not recommend Best Buy, though it seems to be a very popular store. I had problems with their repair service when they supposedly replaced a part in my Toshiba laptop under warranty and then when the same problem occured again wouldn't fix it because it was out of warranty and over 90 days since the repair. I had it repaired for free under the terms of a class action lawsuit against Toshiba. When I had it repaired, I was told it was the original part had never been replaced, just cleaned. I would never purchase a Best Buy warranty again. In my opinion, their prices are high: I would buy at Fry's or online before going to Best Buy.
PROS: Fairly wide selection
CONS: Unreliable repair service.

I received a digital camera for my birthday. Not knowing much about cameras, I had a problem within the hour. I went to Best Buy for assistance and the employee was so helpful I wrote a recommendation card up with his manager. Great place to shop and great place for assistance.

Fail
by vimalpatel
Honestly today stores do not at all know how to market their stuff i went into the best buy last week saw an awesome deal in a plasma 42 inch and a 360 for 899.99 i come in this week ask the manager he tells me that they only had that sale for last week I think to myself wow you got to be kidding also he tells me instead i could buy a ps3 and a tv for 1500.00 so I said no thank you this was truly a fail if something is selling really well why stop it or only do it for a week. altogether i still really enjoy the store and the great service they offer so still go but I really thought this was dumb and unnecessary I'm going to still check if they have it before new years hopefully they will see the light.....
