Why  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

Where did that post go that was here from I believe Ashley it was posted 09/15/08. It was deleted but I wasn't sure why? This daycare has very flexible hours and are more than accommodating.

Tinker Town on Smoke Ranch? I wish not  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

My son was enrolled in Tinker Town located at 6200 Smoke Ranch Road, Las Vegas, NV 89108 in August of 2007. He became sick numerous times developing bronchitis which turned into bronchiolitis. I requested an inspection of the facility because of the things that I saw and my sons newly developed condition. I saw children with runny noses into their mouths; children left in highchairs; the facility looked generally dirty and smelled of diapers; cots the children slept in were dirty looking as if they had never been cleaned and the sheets the children were required to have were not used; staff members overwhelmed by the amount of children; swearing in front of the children; and violations of staff to child ratios. I had witnessed on one occasion a child sipping milk and spitting out on the table as he and another child played with what he had just spit out. I provided all the food and liquids my son would need for the day due to a health issue he had at the time. Repeatedly he was given food and juice I did not provide. The inspection resulted in one violation. That violation was an incorrect staff to child ratio. I was told that though the other things I mentioned, unsanitary they may be, was not in violation of any code. During a follow up appointment with the doctor advised me to remove my son from their care. When time had come to file taxes I had called Tinker Town to request a tax statement. I was told by the receptionist that it would cost me $10 because they handed out receipts. I asked her if she could give me a total of how much I had paid. The receptionist then told me only a manager could do that she referred me to Jacqueline who would not be in until ten the following morning. I called the following day and told Jacqueline my story and she told me the same thing the receptionist had the previous day. I asked if she could just reprint the receipts. Jacqueline said she could not because the receipts are kept in a ledger on the computer. I asked for the corporate office. She said that corporate office was located at that building and to ask for Melissa. When I spoke with Melissa she told me that my son could not have developed asthma because it is hereditary and that my son could not have gotten sick at their facility. I told her asthma is not hereditary, it is an incurable chronic disease and that my son did not have asthma upon entering their care. (Asthma can be hereditary but it can also occur in people who have been exposed to certain conditions.) I told her that I thought that it was unfair for my family to pay the fee because of what we have endured due to their facility. She said it was company policy and could not do anything for me. (Melissa was rather rude with me in which I responded in kind. Perhaps not the best way to go but I am extremely frustrated.) I told her that I would sue and she said that would be just fine.A friend of mine helped me find the owners name, Sherylnne Overby. I called Tinker Town and asked to speak with her. I was told that she was not in and left a message. I called and left messages numerous times and never received a call back. I called the Tinker Town on Bonanza Road and asked to speak with Gaye. She said, very kindly, that though she was sorry for my familys ordeal I had to speak with Melissa. I called Melissa back and told her I had not received a call back. I asked if I wasnt important enough for her to call and how Sherylnne Overby deals with problems with her company. I was told that it wasnt that Im not important enough it was that Sherylnne agreed with Melissa. I again asked if they could just reprint the receipts and I was told that for a $10 fee they could. I said that this was b.s. and was told that Tinker Town is a corporation and she was the president. I was told that in a very condescending way. I was very offended.A friend of mine called Tinker Town a few weeks later and asked to speak with Melissa. She was told that Melissa was out for the day and she could speak with Jacqueline. She told Jacqueline what was going on and was told by Jacqueline that what happened to my family doesnt matter. I sent Sherylnne Overby a letter. She says that it takes time for children, upon entering a public care facility, to develop their immune systems. While I do agree with that statement, I also think that my son being ill for the entire time that he was enrolled is very odd and unacceptable. I feel that these people who are supposed to care and nurture children do not. I feel that they may, in the end, do more harm than good as was the case with my son. They do not care about my son, my family, or the heartache that we have to go through every time my husband and I let him play and hear his coughing and wheezing.

i agree  5 Star Rating - World class

I agreee with all the complaints and I agree with all the compliments. My children love the place and majority of the people. I like some of the workers others i don't know. They are reasonably priced but sometimes and somedays their prices need to be cheaper for the way some of them treat the children. It up to you to make a choice of letting your kids go. Tinker town if any of the employess are reading this read the others and try to make a difference in the way its ran. That way everyone can be satisified.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE SMOKE RANCH LOCATION  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

MY BABY COMES HOME WITH BRUISES AND SCRATCHES AND SHE'S NOT EVEN CRAWLING. ANOTHER MOM AND I WERE TALKING AND SHE SAID THAT SHE HAD FILED A COMPLAINT AND THE LISCENSING AGENCY GAVE THE DIRECTOR THE LETTER THAT SHE WROTE AND IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE KEPT ANONYMOUS SO THEY CAME UP WITH ALL OF THESE OVERTIME CHARGES THAT SHE SUPPOSEDLY OWED AND TOLD HER SHE SHOULD TAKE HER CHILD SOMEWHERE ELSE. (SOUNDS LIKE A VEILED THREAT TO ME)

THE TURN OVER IS HORRIBLE AND I OFTEN WALK INTO THE BABY ROOM TO FIND ONE WORKER AND 8 TO 10 SCREAMING BABIES. THEY LOSE HER THINGS, DAILY, RUIN HER CLOTHES, AND HER BOTTLES ARE OFTEN STILL FULL OR HALF FULL WHEN I PICK HER UP BECAUSE THEY GIVE THEM TO HER COLD JUST OUT OF THE FRIDGE.

THE PLACE IS DIRTY ALL THE TIME AND THE DIRECTOR SEEMS LIKE THE TYPE TO BE NICE TO YOUR FACE AND THEN STAB YOU IN THE BACK AS SOON AS YOU TURN AROUND. I FEAR FOR THE MOM THAT MADE THE COMPLAINT, BUT I FEAR MORE FOR HER BABY CAUSE I KNOW SHE'S ON ASSISTANCE AND CAN'T AFFORD TO GO ANYWHERE ELSE.

I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE THE LISCENCING AGENCY PUT HER IN JEAPORDY LIKE THAT. IT MAKES ME AFRAID TO FILE A COMPLAINT BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD TO GO ANYWHERE ELSE, EITHER.

OBVIOUSLY QUALITY DAYCARE IS NOT A PRIORITY IN LAS VEGAS. TOO BAD THERE ISN'T A FEDERAL AGENCY THAT LOOKS INTO THINGS LIKE THIS.

UNPROFESSIONAL SUPERVISOR AND BABIES WATCHING BABIES  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

MY MAIN CONCERN WAS THE UNPROFESSIONAL, UNTRAINED, UNKILLED, UNKNOWLEDGEABLE STAFF. My daughter started going there when she was two. I walked into the door and had to let someone know 6 times that I was waiting on help. One day when I went to pick her up, some kid had thrown up in one of the 2-3 yr old rooms, guess what, he was runnin around giving people hugs, including my daughter. oh by the way my daughter became sick the next day. They misplaced her belongings alll the time. The ghetto staff would cuss, and fuss. My daugher was sleeping in someone else's blanket. The director was a demon, she would not listen if you tried to explain the problems that was going on in there. She would talk down to her employees, yell at them, but failed to realize that they weren't trained in the first place. The Pecos and Bonanza location is a hot ghetto messs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unprofessional childcare at 4339 E. Bonanza Rd. Las Vegas, Nv 89110  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

The quality of care at this facility is dreadful. The teachers are unskilled in childcare. They just want the kids to sit down and don't talk. They don't engage in activities with the kids to stimulate their mental growth. They are constantly hollering at the kids. In the rear building the kids are out of control. They're running all over the room and hitting the smaller kids. The teachers are never smiling. It's seems that they hire anyone off the street from older women that have problems with mobility which makes them always sitting and hollering at the kids. The kids playground is terrible, sand that has trash and cat feces in it.They also hire people that appear to be just out of high school and had no formal training. I wouldn't recommend this facility to anyone. I would like to mention that Tory, Precious, Tanya, and June, do an outstanding job. Lastly the school's rates are excessive. They charge $5.00 extra for holiday care, $10.00 extra to get a financial report to file with your income taxes when all that is done is look up your account on the computer and print it out. What really is outrageous is the $40.00 registration fee they charge every September even though your child is already registered. The director is nasty attituded and doesn't know how to address the people or listen to what the parent has to say. She needs definite work on her people skills. A very poorly ran establishment.

this place is sooo poor of an enviorment  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

it's ran awful, the place is unclean and the staff careless with the kids...I know cause I used to work there...I know for a fact that they do not kill the germs when washing the bottles, dishes, pans because the hot water doesnt work! Also the kids ofter share the same sippy cups and bottles because the emplyees do not care. The owner knows the probles exist however she allows such carelessness. They hire anyone regardless if you are good with kids, I have had to work with very hateful people who should not be around children!

Tinkertown on smoke ranch...NEVER TAKE YOUR CHILD THERE  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Just as the other reviews state, the owner should lose her license and should be jailed. She has full knowledge of all happenings at all four of her locations. She had knowledge of a moldy, disgusting laundry room, she allowed overnight parking in a fire lane. Remember this is a 24 hour facility. She has several friends and family members working for her so it is very easy for her to look the other way. There are children running throughout the building unattended. They are always over child/teacher ratios. They constantly have employees that do not have the proper cards to legally work there. Again, she looks the other way. Children are constantly injured. Employees several times have given infants milk when they "had no clue" if the child drank formula or milk. They never know when a child is to eat regular food or baby food. Possible choking hazards. Childrens belongings are lost on a daily basis. They do not use gloves or wash hands when changing diapers. And the food...anyone cooks it with no instructions. the children eat interesting food that no one knows if it was properly cooked. Oh, and the dishes they eat off of are washed in cold water. Since several times their hot water didn't work. Please pay attention to your children if you take them there. If you don't have to then please don't.

Bad tinker town  5 Star Rating - World class

Tinker town is the worst place in las vegas to leave your kids. the employees are uneducated and i personally think the highest grade for employment here is the sixth grade there is one employee there @ the pecos center i know for a fact has a criminal record and should not be working anywhwere near children children. they fire people there for thier own personal gain tinker town should be burned to the ground and the owners liscence should be revoked because she is willing and knowing ofall the incidents that occur @ this facility

very poor child care  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

we put my 4 month old granddaughter in tinkertown. at first apperience it was kinda dirty and it stunk but we thought we would give it a try, it is hard to find a daycare past 6 pm and on weekends being this one is open 24/7 made it idea. The first mistake was the lady that had her in the day looked like she propped up her bottle she was all wet down her front and had a poopy diaper on yet she was happy so we didnt say anything. next my daughter had to leave her for a few hours at night, went to pick her up and the lady was sleeping and wouldnt get up to open the door till she hollard in the window and the baby was crying the last straw was when we went to pick her up and 3 women were standing by her and she was in a swing screaming like i never heard her and not one was attempting to pick her up. we were so angry my daughter yelled and said we were reporting them and that it stunk in there when she was physically threatened by one of the employees I would never recommend this place to anyone

Dont take you child here  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

As I entered the facility and greeted everyone at the receptionists desk. I was there with a parent who had paid and the workers were telling her she didnt pay. There were three other workers sitting in the receptionist area. I waited about patiently. No one ever greeted me. A very young girl walked up and said yes. At this point there is no way I would leave my child here. I told the girl that I though I was just going to stand here. I can hear infants crying and I have been here for at least 15minutes. This young girl could not tell me exactly what the facility offers for kids but she was quick to show me a price list. I left the facility and there are teen age girls all around this facility. There are children wondering around as if they have nothing to do. A little girl about 7 walked with me and my three year old outside. I walked her back in.

Bad feeling with this Center  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

I registered my 15 months old daughter on a Sunday afternoon (December, 2005), when I was there filling up the paperwork, a caregiver was moving a group of kids from one room to another, and she closed the classroom door leaving one of the kids in the corridor where I was. A lady that happened to be there dropping her daughter off hold this kid hand and walk him into his classroom.

I filled out all the paperwork and I presented my identification card and my child immunization record to the cashier as she requested it. Everything was ready for my daughter to be dropped off the next Tuesday, on Tuesday, before dropping our daughter off, my husband called the daycare for confirmation and they told him that the paperwork was not complete. This was enough to make me question their responsibility and look for another daycare.

It lasted two weeks  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

When my daughter was born I had to take off work to spend a couple months at home. When my daughter was about six weeks old I had to return to work. I called around several places to check this place out and I was told there were no complaints. I went to enroll my child and as I was talking to the young and I mean really young lady, a frustrated mother came in rushing throught the door and said she found her child sleeping in the corner of the room under a table with no adult supervision. I was in shock I soon realized this was not a place I wanted to keep my daughter but I had already paid for her and sigend the paperwork. Well as just to break it down she was out of there in two weeks.
