poor customer service
by amber s.
In 2007 i paid for a beginning quilting class. i technically know how to quilt, but i specifically wanted to learn how to machine quilt (as in the stitches ON the blanket). I signed up after the class had begun meeting, which was fine for me because they covered things i didn't need help with. I also spent over 80 dollars ON TOP of my class fee that day. I was only able to attend one class because i injured my hip and I called and explained this. I was told I couldn't get a refund, but that I could attend the class anytime. Unfortunately I was on bed rest for over 3 months, and I talked to the owner who would not work with me (I didn't necessarily want my money back, I would have gladly accepted 40 dollars worth of fabric, the difference for the class i missed). I paid 60 dollars to a place that didn't care at all about anything but retaining the money (not the customer who would have spent many hundreds in the time since then). I didn't know about the google review, that's why it took so long to put this review up. I walked in this store about a week ago by accident (i had forgotten about the drama because of the many more serious things that have happened since then) and the thing that refreshed my memory was how cold and rude the only person in the store was. She seemed annoyed when I asked if they carried a new line from Moda (I gave her the specific name, as it was what I wanted). I looked around for a second and then remembered, and promptly left (not spending any money again.) I wouldn't have wanted to buy anything even with my prior experience because of the way I was talked to. In this economy, owning a store with a very expendable product, I think it is important to hire people with a pleasant demeanor. I wont make the mistake of shopping here ever again. Unless I am offered my refund. There are other places to spend my disposable income.

Nice store...beautiful samples hung everywhere...pattern section is wonderful...always great teachers and friendly staff...AND, they have a "color of the month" discount, each and every month! Easy access, located in the heart of town.

I always go to this fabric store at the holidays when I am making crafts for gifts. They have a wonderful selection of fabrics and all the odds and ends you need to help with your sewing needs. I love to look at all the colors and patterns and pick out something that not only looks nice to give, but fun to make. I love to sew and have been doing it for years. I am not an expert sewer but I do a satisfactory job. They have knowledgable clerks to help with any questions you may have and I usually have many I need help with. When looking for fabric and sewing needs, try them out.
