3 Stars: Star Nursery (by Lindsay M.)

Star Nursery is a wonderful one stop landscape location. They have nearly every kind of plant you can think of but sometimes it is a deterrant when you see a crowd of jobless workers offering undesired help.

4 Stars: Everything's coming up roses ... (by Joanee A.)

Well, not roses ... but I do visit this nursery first for most of my annuals. They always seem to have a good selection at competitive prices. The plants are generally healthy and well cared for (so they have to wait for me to kill them!). The staff is helpful with plant selection, and pricing/plant name/sun exposure information is easily located in most cases.

PROS: Attractive, open layout. Helpful staff. Good prices. Healthy annuals.
CONS: Go early in the day for best selection.

5 Stars: Very helpful and knowledgable (by Trinity B.)

The plants are not expensive. The people are very helpful. I had no idea what to plant here, and one guy walked around helping me choose, based on my needs. He also gave me tips for planting the things I bought!

PROS: Helpful employees, great selection
CONS:

5 Stars: Inexpensive and helpful (by Barbara H.)

Everyone at Star is helpful and great prices also. If you have a question they will find you the correct answer, e-mails are returned promptly. I could never grow plants, roses, trees. We had a problem with grass not growing in the backyard, they recommended Bermuda sod and now we must mow at least twice weekly. Beautiful yard !!!! We always try to take advantage of the Senior Citizen Day where prices are fantastic.

3 Stars: The Grass is Greener on the other side (by B C.)

Star offers a good plant selection and most of the prices are fair... although they have gone up in the past couple of years. The one thing they should do is post the kind of sod they sell. I bought some nearly dead sod and was told it would come back after planting. It came back alright, but it was Bermuda grass... not the fescue type I had bought from there the last time. I might as well have paid for weeds as Bermuda is the absolute worse type of grass that goes everywhere and is impossible to get rid of. Make sure you know what you are paying for... they don't post the type of sod they sell.

PROS: Good Selection / Fair Prices
CONS: Horrible Sod!
