I went to see Carlos because my silver hair was getting yellow in it. He said he could take care of it. He took care of it OK...........it's yellower than it was in places that weren't yellow before. I don't know what he used on it, but

I orginally went to Moxie after I had gone to 4 other salons to find a decent colorist. My fist experience there was a great one. Nicole did my color and it turned out beautiful and I had a great blow out with it. It lasted for 3 months.
Then when I needed my bangs trimmed went in once (not sure who did it but it was a girl stylist) but she did a great job and I was not charged just had to leave a tip for her. Then went back a few weeks later and has a guy stylist who was awful cut them all crooked and I was charged and had to leave a tip. So I drove across town to another salon just so I would not have to deal with their attidue in their since I felt like the manager kind of had one for some reason or another. So that day I ended up having to spend almost $30 just trimming my bangs
.I finally rebooked color but insead of touching up exactly what I had since it was pretty much perfect and it had lasted so long, I ended up with tiger srtipe highlights that looked like a beauty school student had done. Not to mention left my hair half wet and didn't even ask if I wanted to upgrade to a full blow out. I don't leave salons with wet hair. So went back and they said it just needed toner. She put the toner on and left me at the shampoo bowl. But I didn't know she had left for the day. Next thing I know some assistant is washing my hair and taking over. She didn't even stick around to see if I was happy with how it turned out or even bother to let me know she was leaving for the day. Then after the assistant rough drys my hair it now looks darker because he let the toner run into the rest of my hair while he was shampooing it out of the top of my head. Then he reveals I don't know about color. I was about to cry at the point because I felt like me hair was even worse then when I had started. Then the manager came over and I told I her I was really unhappy and since my hair stylist bailed out for the day with out telling me I was passed along to the only one left there for the day. She did her best to try to fix what she could but I did not like the end result. It end up costing me more money because I felt bad that the other girl had to work over time so I gave her a tip. The manager didn't even offer to refund me. I went home and cried. Clearly I won't be returning to that salon again.

Do not let Zena B. near your hair... First of all she blow dries your hair out first, then cuts it!!!! I mean, I could have gone to Super Cuts and gotten the same treatment for $7. Then she proceeded to chop my hair up, which didn't

As a former employee of Moxie I used to love my job. The main issue i had was the lack of management, you had the receptionist who was far to timid to handle the role as a manager so one of the "master stylist" pretended like he had it under control. If you where a new employee you are just thrown into the job with no real training or a employee handbook. The owners where never there so the left the salon ran by a inexperienced stylist who pretends to have far more training then he really has. As far as professionalism there isn't any unless you where dealing with Fausto who I felt has a true passion for his craft. The amount of trash talking about other stylist and clients was unreal as a stylist I expect to deal with some salon cattiness but this was ridiculous. What this salon needs is a full time manager not a stylist pretending to be a one and the owners need to be in the salon more not watching from home with all the eyes in sky which makes people feel like they are being micromanaged

Frank cut my hair, he was going to trim the ends, he took about 7-inches off, and simply doesn't care what you ask for. I clearly indicated that I wanted my hair to remain long, now I have a 1980's bob cut. I left in tears, and i'm a grown woman.

I have been to Moxie about 6-7 times. The first time I went to have my hair cut and colored. The man that came up to do it was rude and I told him what I wanted and he said ok ok fine. It turned out alright I guess the only positive was the cut.

I saw the same guy the second time and he was just as rude, so I decided on my third try I would see someone new. I told the girl I wanted a few subtle highlights all over. I emphasized the fact that I did not want them all in the middle of my head and when I put my hair up I dont want it to look like I am a skunk (with just highlights in the middle). She finished and I had orange highlights in the middle ONLY. First off I wanted blonde NOT orange! She completely ignored my request.

The forth and fifth times I went I saw someone new who decided that it wasn't important to do my color all the way herself. Some intern/temp came over and attempted to do my hair after it was half done. She said she had to take a call or something in the back. I told him to please be sensitive with my head as I burnt part of my scalp the weekend before. He was rubbing his finger nails into my burnt scalp the whole time as I tried to get his attention. It was horrendous.

I should have learned from my mistakes or rather their mistakes, but I went back for a sixth and seventh time because it was convenient and close enough to my house. BAD DECISION!! I walked out with bangs cut way too short and feeling as if I were the scum of the earth.

Nobody really says it on here, but if you want a rude uncomfortable experience then go to Moxie. Unfriendly and horrible! I will never go back

I would not get your hair cut here if you value how your hair looks. I just moved here, and I was looking to find a new salon in the area. While I enjoyed getting my hair shampooed by some hot guy, I didn't appreciate how Alma totally disregarded the instructions for my haircut and just did whatever she felt like.

I specifically told her during our consultation before the cut, "Do not cut more than 1/2 inch." She said she may have to cut up to 3/4 inch in the back, which I said was fine, but no more than that. I was very clear that I just wanted my cut cleaned up and not to take very much off, as I was trying to grow it out.

Then, she repeated my instructions back to me, and quickly decided to ignore them. She decided to put layers into my hair, which I did not ask for, and ended up cutting up to 3 inches off in some sections. I asked her what was going on halfway through the cut because I was (rightfully) concerned, and she got pissy and unprofessional. She started YANKING on my head and hair, and got all huffy and puffy, and making exasperated sounds under her breath.

It was obvious she disregarded my instructions, because I told her I wanted to cut bangs during our consultation. At the end of her version of a haircut, she said, "Do you want to do anything up in the front? Because I left it alone." I said, "Yes, I wanted bangs like we discussed." She said she forgot. Obviously! She forgot all my instructions and just did what she wanted. Now I am stuck with a horrible short haircut. She's awful. Do not go to her.

Emmanuel left Moxie's and He is all they really had going for them. He was incredible. Someone posted they didn't like him not talking too much, well that's what I liked most. I don't want my hair dresser to talk, I want them to do my hair. He was great! Moxie's in general full of it. They are over priced! Moxie's ripped me off for over 400.00 because I had a straightener that didn't work. They wouldn't redo it, or refund. And the girl who swore she was the manager was an absolute Witch!

This was a very interesting experience. Overall, I loved the look, feel & ambiance of Moxie. The person at the registration desk and the girl who washed my hair were great. That?s where my good experience ended.

1 - As a person with naturally curly hair, I was actually looking forward to seeing Zena. I thought she would be more familiar with my hair type and that this would translate into a better blow-dry & cut.
2 - I found that there was a definite language gap between myself and Zena. I was pretty clear on what I wanted (about an inch or 2 taken off my layers to clean up my cut and a bang trim) and by the end of our time (the blow out took a long time), with her next appointment waiting, she seemed to get irritated and cut WAY too much off my top layer which is now as long as my bangs.
3. My appointment was 5 and the next appointment arrived around 6/615 which doesn't seem like it leaves a lot of time for a wash, blow out & cut.
4. - Post blow-dry, I was advised that there is an extra cost for flat ironing services. Which was pretty amazing to me. I?ve never experienced that at a salon. It would have been nice to know that up-front. I ultimately didn?t get charged for it as the stylist could see my frustration towards the end of our session.

Soooo, after this appointment, I have mixed emotions about the salon. I?d love to give another stylist a try but it?s always awkward going back to a place after a poor experience.

After reviewing several options in regards to finding the right hair salon, I came across Moxie Hair Studio. I read everything online about the services and the hair care specialist. I had a good feeling as I read about the expertise of the stylists about hair color, cut and style. These fine people have an incredible resume and some have the incredible amount of 20 plus years of experience in their field of passion. May it be color or cuts etc. I found Emmanuel to be the right fit for my need because after I read other testimonials I came across a lady who had 10 different shades of blond and needed someone who is specializing in creating miracles. She was overjoyed with the result. I visit the salon, which is by the way state of the art. Incredible positive energy as well as top notch service. Emmanuel created a whole new look for me. My hair looked hideous. Twenty different shades of blond along with self created damage over the passed 8 months. He made me feel very comfortable and gave me his valued opinion. When I was done I couldn't believe my eyes. I felt absolutely beautiful being a brunette again, my natural hair color. I feel like I left many years behind and created a new me. All due to needed change but most of all by choosing the right person to bring this blessing and miracle about. I am so thankful I found Emmanuel who is my miracle creator. There will be no other who is going to touch my hair but him. I will always cherish this experience and with each passing day looking in the mirror I'm being reminded how fortunate I am to have found Moxie Studio and Emmanuel. I would highly recommend the salon and of course my hair miracle worker Emmanuel.
Sincerely,
Manuela, Henderson NV

After extensive online research, I decided to drive by Moxie Hair Studios and noticed not only how busy they were, but also how gorgeous it was inside. So, I went inside to look at the product and left with a cut and color that was out of this world. Staff was truly professional and friendly. Prices are very good for the standards that Moxie stands for. I love Moxie!

I was pleased from the moment my hair was done! Anyone that has gotten the BKT before knows that your hair will be a little weighed down, with some flyaways. But the blowout was great, my hair looked great from the beginning. I had to wait the requisited 72 hours before I washed my hair (and the last 24 hours was the hardest), but I will say with all honesty that my hair was still looking okay between the 48 and 72 hour timeline. And my hair didn't have that "chemical" smell tha tI have grown accustomed to durning my previous two treatments at another salon. I washed my hair on Sunday afternoon and it looked great... a much better outcome than my previous two treatments. I'm very happy and highly recommend Moxie!

A friend who recently moved to town highly recommended Moxie Salon. I?ve lived in Summerlin for 6 years and never had chance to try Moxie as I was comfortable with my stylist. I can?t see myself going anywhere else, Moxie is a godsend. Best service, great prices, super friendly stylists and staff. I had a wonderful experience and fun time there, too.

The First time I went to Moxie my hair was 20 shades of blond. Emmanuel has it to a beautiful color and I have never had so many complements in my 51 years of life nor, has my hair ever looked this good. I came from Houston and had a great stylist there but could never find someone even close to my stylist there until 9 months ago when I happen to find Moxie and better yet, Emmanuel. He is amazing with color and makes it look effortless. Of course the French accent never hurts and I love the atmosphere. I would recommend Emmanuel to anyone who needs their hair corrected and to stay looking the same. He spent a lot of time with me the first two appointments because it was so bad. Now it's in (nice glass of wine and a computer while I wait on the color) and out. His cuts are surpurb as well and his up dos are amazing and creative. It took me 9 years in Vegas, but I finally found the perfect stylist. Thank you soooo much!! I can't say enough you will just have to see for youself. D.D.

I can?t thank Moxie enough for how you have changed and improved my life. My hair is no longer a problem that I think about every day and agonize over every time I go out in public. My only regret is that I didn't come to Moxie salon earlier, instead of stressing about my hair and trying other salons in the area. I guess I had to go through a journey before I was ready for Moxie, but the prices are really reasonable and I?m never going anywhere else. I cannot describe how much it improved my life and attitude.

I just moved to Vegas from LA and went to Moxie Hair Studios because I thought they had an impressive website. But it was a whole nother story when I walked in. They gave me Carlos, he sat me in his chair with beads of sweat falling from his for head (I mean that's nasty, a big fat gross man sweating all over you while you're trying to have an experience). He asked me how I liked my hair, I told him I just wanted a trim. Then when he started cutting my hair, he turned me away from the mirror and chopped all my hair off.. I was very pissed off to say the lest. Moxie should fire Carlos because he doesn't know what he's doing, he doesn't listen to his clients and he THINKS he knows it all. I think not! Go back to beauty school and start all over again. Horrible place to go. I don't recommend it at all....

A friend of mine referred me to the "Master Stylist" Emmanuel, at Moxie. While I have complete trust in my friends taste and advice I decided to go.

Well ... Let's just say that the reviews on this site are probably written entirely by him to give his EGO a boost. He lacks any amount of people skills whatsoever!! And the language barrier is pure B**SH** ....

RUDE, ARROGANT AND MEAN IS A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE, IS DOESN'T MATTER WHERE YOUR FROM!

Let's get down to the reason for my review. I came for a hair cut from the "Master Stylist". I told him how I wanted my hair cut and hoping and anticipating for the best, he left it looking uneven and too full on one side, when I wanted to comment on what he was doing he would simply roll his eyes back and shrug his shoulders as if he didn't give a damn! Needless to say, I left disappointed. It was a horrible experience to say the least!

I decided to call and ask if I can have a redo with someone else. I told the receptionist that I was afraid to go back to him because I feared he would retaliate and cause more damage just to be spiteful. As soon as I walked in he slivered over to me and I was so uncomfortable, he sat me in the chair and began this uncontrollable argument with me basically telling me how wrong I was! Wait a minute, aren't I the customer?? Isn't he suppose to grin and bare it, especially in this servicing field? I was placed in another uncomfortable situation, I was afraid, intimidated and treated like the bad guy. He was extremely rude, and inconsiderate of my feelings.

Finally, I was seen by the Director of the salon, Fausto came to my rescue and with a smile on his face he quickly fixed the damage caused by Emmanuel, too bad he can't fix the emotional damage that he caused me!!

I'm not sure if I will ever come back to Moxie. Something must be wrong when a client is fearful to go back to a salon, not so much for a bad haircut but for the vile presence an employee can bring in an atmosphere! I'd be hard pressed if I was the only person that has been treated like this by him! HE does it without any semblance of humanity whatsoever.

In a nutshell ... go to Fausto if you want to be treated with respect! He is a true professional and a class act! If you like being treated like garbage then you're going to the right person.

Thank God I didn't pay any attention to those few negative reviews...I have NEVER had better hair day's! As with anything...there are always some sour grapes in the bunch!
Thanks Carlos for once again making my hair beautiful!!!!

I first found Moxie on Citysearch and called to set up an appointment to get my hair blown out. I have naturally curly hair that I wear straight. I can't blow out my own hair the way I like it so I need to find someplace that I like for my twice-weekly, or more, appointments.

I called and they set me up with Carlos after first telling me they were going to put me with someone else. He did a great job on my blowout and I returned again and again.

I needed my hair colored and they set me up with Emmanuelle. He was DIVINE. His color was right on and his blowouts were good, although they didn't hold as long as I would have liked. He also has this very sweet personality and a great French accent. Those are just bonuses; his color was fabulous!

I went back in to see Carlos because I was attending a black-tie event and needed my hair done especially for this. I was told he had an hour and a half to work on it so I felt comfortable as that was about when I had to leave to get ready. You have to know this if you want to see Carlos (which I really don't recommend): he would much rather do your hair HIS way than the way you like it. He turns you away from the mirror so you can't critique it as he's doing it. He didn't like the way I wore my hair and tried to convince me to do it a different way. I had to correct him more than once about it. Anyway, the day of the event he blows my hair out and starts doing these chunky curls around my face, which I liked. He told me he was going to leave them like that when I asked because he knew I'd be running my fingers through them and loosening them up anyway. I liked that so I left it that way. At the end of the styling I could tell he was getting anxious because he had clients waiting. You should also know they book back-to-back so you will not get great treatment when that happens and rush jobs look terrible, obviously. So, at the end he starts brushing through my curls that he said he was going to leave and taking all the curl out of my hair. I was now being rushed by my date to the event, rushed by Carlos because he had other clients and my hair was being ruined before my eyes. I asked him what he was doing and why he was brushing my hair. He had forgotten what he'd said about the curls. I didn't get upset, but I was in a hurry and needed him to fix the problem. He stopped what he was doing and went outside in the back. After 10 minutes of waiting I finally went and found him and told him never mind, I had to go. I had no idea he was even upset. He didn't address anything, he just ran off to the back and left me alone after telling me he's done hair for more important people than me and he knows how to fix problems. SO unprofessional. I gave him a good tip, as usual (although not deserved) and left. I wasn't rude, I didn't say anything about how bad I felt my hair looked (for $140 with tip) or anything.

I had an appointment set up for a few days later. They called and told me that they needed to set me up with a different stylist because Carlos, the hiring manager and head of stylists, lost his cool over a bad hair style and couldn't work with me. If you like overly sensitive stylists who think they know what's right for you and would like for you to be quiet and let them do it, then this is the salon for you. Granted, Emmanuelle was fantastic, but I just couldn't justify paying $80 (with tip) for a blowout from him.

This salon is nice, but you have to generally wait past your appointment time to have your hair done because their scheduling is so bad. Also, for some reason, this salon (located in Vegas, not NYC -- where I moved from -- or anything close) can make you feel like you're being looked down upon. I spend too much money on my hair to not feel appreciated for it.

Pros: Emmanuelle and his amazing color

Cons: Always have to wait, people there, for some bizarre reason, always look down on you, temper-tantrum throwing know-it-all stylists (Carlos)

I am very impressed with the artistic team at Moxie. I'm a guy that doesn't like to fuss about my hair and do much in the way of styling and maintenance, but their crew always keeps me looking sharp.

Had a Wedding in Vegas to attend on 10/2/10. Last minute I decided I wanted highlights. I was able to get in pretty quick, Plus someone had suggested them. I had googled places and thinking Vegas maybe a little cheaper than California I'd get it done.
Guess I should have went ahead and gone elsewhere and paid more and been happy than to have these Horrible roots that look fake and have like an orange tint=( I told the girl I wanted something that looked natural. I'm aready a dirty blonde but I don't like ORANGE on top! I'm so very disappointed after spending $105 bucks! Never again!

Recently my stylist moved out of state and I needed to find a new one. I surfed the Internet and read some good reviews for this salon. I am very picky about my short hair. I made an appointment with Travis for hair color, highlights and lowlights and an appointment with Chris for a haircut. When I arrived I was greeted and made to feel welcome and confortable. Travis did a remarkable job with my hair color. Next was my haircut with Chris. I was a little nervous because I had a very bad haircut six weeks ago and Chris did not have much hair to work with. Chris spent time cutting and texturzing my hair and gave me a very contemporary look. I just love it! I will contiue to have my hair done by these two very talented men. I highly recommend Moxie!!!! I've recently moved to las vegas and have been searching for a great stylist. I found moxie online and thought I would give it a try. I just want to say how wonderful and talented Yoav is. Yoav gave me the best haircut! i am so pleased with it.
The salon had a great vibe to it. Everybody there is friendly except, when I made my appointment I couldn't really understand the guy with the accent. Overall, I would recommend this salon.

He claims to be professional...but is the exact opposite! he CHOPPED my cute rhianna bob into an uneven, not symmetrical, super bulky mess!!! my hair has a wave to it and is not hard for me to manage with the right type of texturizing, he put so many 'smoothing' products in it, my hair felt like i hadn't washed it in a week! Gross! almost as gross and him sweating all over me! Moxie is not recommended AT ALL!!!

What a great experience! Felt like was home as soon as I walked in. Emmanuel knew what I needed just by looking at my hair!! The color is absolutely beautiful! My blond hasn't looked this good in, let's see, EVER! My hair cut is perfect. He didn't have to use product, which shocked me, to get volume or style. Just light hairspray after. Can't believe it. My hair is fine and looks thick, healthy and shiny!
Thankyou so much Emmanuel. Just love my hair.(I sound like a commercial, but really, I'm very happy!)

where shall i begin? Lets see i have natural jet black hair, and i wanted to be blonde, despite anyhting any one said. I asked Nicole her honest opinion and she said she could do it with out bleaching my hair or making it orange or brassy. So i said screw it lets go! She did it in about 3 sessions and when i tell you it was beautiful. I showed her how I wanted it (sara jessica parker) and my hair was identical. i kept it that way for a few months and have sine gone back to black but my hair is as healthy as it was before i did it. she is an awesome colorist go see her do not trust anyone else in vegas!!!!! when i said no brass she knew exactley what i meant she uses a technique ive never seen before and i can not believe the condition my hair was in after. go nicole, you rock!

I've been going to Moxie for over a year now. I got my color today with Nicole and myh hair cut with Carlos...

Let me tell you im the most picky, high maintenance girl youll ever meet. Nicole does my blond to the blondest you can take it and always a fabulous job. I sat down with Carlos today and told me to do what ever he thought my hair needed ( be that he is the expert.) My ends where very damage thanks to the pool. He recomended a Kerastase Heavy Mask treatment which left my hair back to normal. then he ask me what i didnt want and the rest was just Fabulous.... I've never left un happy with a cut or color. When it comes to cut and blow outs Carlos is the best, I will follow him where ever he goes... Ladys trust your hair dresser he knows what hes doing .......

Saw this review while looking up Moxie's phone number on city search... Carlos has been doing my hair for the past year, and I had to review after reading this last post. I have VERY LONG, fine hair that has never been processed. Whenever I go in, he discusses with me what I want done, and what would look good on me. He has NEVER tried to get me to chop my hair off. I have very healthy hair, but routinely have to have a few inches cut to prevent spreading split ends, etc.. don't kid yourself, we all do. As for being high maintenance- of course I am! If I wasn't I'd go to SUPERCUTS. I don't mean in the high maintenance in the "get me champagne and rub my feet" way, but in the "make sure every inch of my hair is perfect" way. As for his social skills, I have had many a conversation with Carlos while sitting in his chair, I find him funny and engaging. HOWEVER, when he has his scissors in hand, I'D RATHER HE BE CONCENTRATING ON MY CUT, THAN KISSING MY A**. ps. I have an appt. next week.

NOT PROFESSIONAL....I was looking for a new stylist after my long time friend and stylist at another salon was serioulsy injured in a car accident. I never write reviews.I prefer just recommending or Not recommending businesses to my friends, family, and clients in person. But, this experience seemed review worthy. My hair appointment was with CARLOS P . I simply wanted a nice trim-up of my hair after I had a highlight touch-up. Almost from the moment I sat in the chair he was very contemptuous. I am able to get along with everyone, but this individual completely lacked any sort of social skills to deal with. Wrong professsion for someone who's deficient of the quality. He said he had exhausted through several other salons, and ended-up at Moxie, because he preferred dealing with High-Maintenance clientele. I was offended at the insinuation and I'm positive Moxie's clients or any others would not want to be referred to as such. He was NOT interested in listening to what I wanted. I would assume, that part of what makes a successful hair stylist is LISTENING to your clients...Not your EGO. I tried telling him what I wanted;which was just a very simple trim, nothing too difficult. I definitely have NO problem with constructive criticism, as long as it's warranted. He was crude and went off on a mini-tangent of "if it was up to him, what HE would do." Chop off a half a foot...do this...do that...B.S. ..B.S.etc." It's no secret...First thing an unprofessional stylist wants to do is chop off your hair, if it's long. He tried to tell me my hair was in poor condition. Are you kidding? Later, I spoke with two other STYLIST at another salon to get their opinions, and if anything, they said I have very healthy hair. They had nothing to gain. There's more to tell, but, I will leave it at this. In the end, I had to have the lady that did my highlights come to my rescue and trim my hair. Tiana did a fantasic and professional job highlighting my hair and did exactly what I wanted for the trim. I really appreciate the work she did that day! P.S. It would benefit customers a lot if Carlos tries some ALTOIDS on a regular basis!

My first appointment was with Emmanuel and when he asked what I wanted done, I said he was the expert and to do whatever he thought taking into consideration, face shape, texture etc. I walked in looking like a tired & dowdy sixty seven year old and walked out looking like a stylish forty something chick! He transformed my look and it feels great! The color and hair style were amazing. Some stylists can cut hair well but Emmanual knows what will work with your face shape, hair texture.......he is truly an artist!

If he ever moves out of the state...I'll just have to follow him!!!!! (kidding) There...now I feel good to share my truth! Kim

Just moved from Newport Beach, CA to Las Vegas and the first item on my list was to find a salon. A neighbor recommended Moxie and I'm simply thrilled with the results!

I have lived in Vegas for 12+ years and this is the first time I was VERY pleased when I walked out. Everyone loves the cut (done by Carlos) on me and the colorist (Susana) was so sweet and conciderate and did a great job! The color looks so natural and goes well with my skin tone.
Carlos even had to fix what was done by another stylist form another salon and it still turned out cute!
I finally found a place I can go and not woryy about what they are going to do to me!
I would say it is well worth the $$$.

Used CitySearch to help me decide where to get my hair cut while I was in town. Wanted someone new and a new look at my hair. Chose Moxie for the rating and the couple of reviews I read. Zena did a fab job cutting my hair -- going to have her do the cut again next time I'm in town too!
