Good care, decent prices, Dr. Pflaum cares about the animals, is direct about his diagnosis, answers questions. Best to make an appointment before going.
Parking can be limited during busy times.

Dr. Flannery's Reviews

by Shelley J.

Please stop posting on Horizon Veterinary Clinics reviews, "Dr. Flannery" has his own business and reviews for him should be under just that not someone else. As for the last post from Hillary W., you are an employee of Dr. Flannery so I see why you would speak highly of your employer, but you should NOT be bashing another vet or his business.

Flannery's Clinic is awesome!!!!

by Hillary W.

We took all of our pets to Dr. Flannery's new clinic in Boulder City. So happy he finally got it open. They do it all. My dogs are older and we seem to always have them in the clinic. This Doctor is careing, and actually takes time and talks to you so you understand whats going on and what it will take to fix the problem. The other Boulder city vet is aweful and so cold and uncareing we will never go back to BC Animal Hospital. Dr. Flannery's phone # is 294-4899. Highly recommended! AAAAA+++++++

Dr Flannery is back

by Terri W.

I just visited Dr Flannery. To get to his office, drive to Boulder City and at the traffic light 93S towards Hoover Dam-take a left and at the very first left turn. His office is up the street from the Auto Zone on the right hand side. It is called "Greatful Pet Animal Clinic" 702-294-4899. It is not across the street from home hardware. Once you see Auto Zone turn left and he is in a small strip mall on the right. My dog is 12 years old and he was so gentle with her. Nice to know he graduated from the Veterinary School from Ohio State University in Columbus Ohio. It is one of the best in the country.

None Better

by Randy B.

Dr. Pflaum is by far the best vet my pets have ever had. As proof: when kenneled over vacation, my male greyhound didn't want to come home! You can't get a better recommendation than that.

We have had numerous minor surgeries, emergency situations, teeth cleanings, innoculations, kenneling, and, sad to say, 4 euthanizations for old friends. All were handled with the utmost professionalism, respect, and compassion. Plus, the fees have always been reasonable.

Highly recommended. In 40 years of keeping pets, there has been none better.

Sick animals left unattended

by Linda S.

I took my dog Seth in to see Dr Pflaum as I noticed he was losing weight. Doc said he would do blood work and see what was going on. He told me that he had ,"early stages of kidney disease" and worst case scenario would be special diet and meds. He kept him for 3 days. When I got Seth home, I had to get to work. Later that night he started vomiting all night long so I took him back to Dr Pflaum the very next day. I looked him in the eye and asked, "am I prolonging something here?", he said, "no, we'll get his vomiting under control". Next day I get a call that Seth had passed SOMETIME during the night. Pflaum starts asking pertinent questions that he should have asked before my Seth died. I had no idea that sick animals are left unattended during the night at this clinic. I've had my dog for 9 yrs and it haunts me to picture him dying alone in that kennel. FYI....private clinics like this one are not required to have someone there at night..it's the doctors decision. Also, if you go to an office on a Saturday and it's empty, that's not a good sign.

Dr. Flannery

by Kevin D.

Thanks Cindy for the updated info. I'm so happy to hear that he is opening up a clinic and especially in Boulder City. Is it going to be full service or just a shot clinic? I hope full service considering my Charlie is getting up there in age and I have been with Dr. Flannery for some time now. Can't wait for July!

I will never take my baby's any where else

by Laurie A.

The 1st vet i went to when we moved here told me that my oldest dog would not live a year unless she took a pill that cost $25.00 twice a day among other treatments she would die within a year .I went to horizon vet for a second opinion 4yrs later she is fine My 5 animals have been patients of both DR Flannery & DR Pflaum for 4yrs I love them both I was not sure of Dr Pflaum at 1st until my husband said do u want a vet who socializes more or who is more concerned about the health of our animals. Now i know i made the wright choice by sticking with Dr Pflaum,He would never just Take off and leave his patients as Dr Flannery has done.Goes to show you who really cares,I have always been treated with kindness as well as my animals from both DR Pflaum & the staff

Great Visit!!!! I DO reccomend Dr. Dudley Pflaum

by Karri C.

I wanted to do some research and find a new vet that is reasonable with the fees. My old vet that i was taking my pets to charged a $40.00 visit fee *not including anything else*.I took my two pooches to Horizon Vet Clinic and it was a great experience. I was in the process of moving and didn't have leashes so i had to carry my beagle and terrier in the door. The front desk gave me leash's. The wait was minimal, *after filling out paperwork*then i was taken back to see Dr. Dudley Pflaum. I taked with him about my beagle's anal glands and possible removal because they seem to be a problem. He DID NOT recommend removing them, because they could cause abscesses and other problems. He even showed me how to express them myself to give my beagle some relief *she's always licking*. My beagle isn't spayed, and he didn't give me a hard time about it either, he just said it might help her anxiety. I was in the room when they got their vaccinations, and exam. For two dogs it was only $90.00 for their whole visit and whole series of shots.I cannot say how impressed i am with the service, and i will be back.

Pleasant Visit

by Rhonette E.

Flannery has been wonderful to deal with. He is always pleasant and seems genuinely interested in his patients. It's obvious that he enjoys his job. I am happy with him and his prices. I recommend this clinic to all pet owners.

Flannery is awesome

by Wanda M.

I went in today to get a quick check-up on our !3 year old cocker spaniel ;Prancer.I asked for Flannery because I was told he had a great personality. They were so right. He gave me meds for his ears before he has surgery on his hospitalization on the 21st. It was a free check up and I had no $ on me to pay for the meds; no problem.

Yes on Flannery no on Pflaum

by Anonymous

Flannery was a sweet vet and Phlaum was rude. I have two dogs and i've had two different experiences with them. Phlaum talked down to me when i took my pug in and told me I'd be killing her if i didn't get her fixed. Flannery saw my boxer and was super kind and not rude at all. I told him that i'd only see him from then on. The staff can be short with people b/c they get busy b/c they are affordable. I never waited long and prices have been great!

Life Saver

by Stephanie R.

I am a single mother with a newborn. My little Chihuahua got stepped on and I brought him to another vet down the street. They told me that he was going to need surgery and although it was a routine surgery I had to go to a specialist across town to get it done. I called HVC in tears hoping that they could help me because I did not have the money that they had quoted me for the surgery. I brought my dog to HVC and was quoted a price of 1/4 of what the specailist was charging and they could do it in house. The staff was very nice, professional and helpful. My dog has had a full recovery and I would not take my dog to anyone else.

The extra mile

by M R.

Our 18 month Aussie Rambone had a severe limb due to OCD, instead of sending us to a clinic on the other side of town Dr. Pflaum and his collegue Dr Walker performed the surgery on a Sunday morning. As always the fee was reasonable. The aftercare was great and our big boy is expected to make a full recovery to normal. The staff is very courteous and helpful and the animal's well-being is the number one priority at Horizon.

WOW!

by Vicki C.

I truly believe they saved my Ridgeback. I had been going to another vet for 2 years, I took my girl in because she was so sick and got nothing from them other than to bring her back in a week if she didn't get better. Wound up at the emergency clinic that same night with her and they got her through the night until I could get to Horizon the next morning (my 1st time there), on Saturday. Dr. Plaum was outstanding! Kind, caring, concerned. Lady spent 3 days with them, running blood tests (results I got back on Saturday), called me on Sunday to let me know how she was doing, picked her up on Monday and was amazed at how much better she was. If not for Horizon, I am afraid I would have lost my dog - I am so happy I found them. The staff is friendly and caring - AAA+ in my book.

KUDOS

by Cher M.

This clinic is awesome. They are professional, caring, no nonsense folks. Dr. Pflaum is all about caring for your pet, he is knowledgable and honest, his bedside manner can appear curt, but it is becasue he has LOTS of patients and wants only the best all of them. I highly reccomend them. A plus is they are VERY reasonably priced. GOOD OL' fashioned care!

Excellent Service

by Hilary J.

We have been using Horizon Vet Clinic for the last 5 years. Dr. Pflaum is in business alone which means he can run behind, but he is worth the wait. He has always given our dogs the individual attention that they deserve. His prices are excellent and his staff is very friendly and helpful. We have also used his kenneling service which is reasonably priced and the dogs come home well kept and clean.
