Sherwin-Williams has been in business since 1866. The Company's core business is the manufacture, distribution and sale of coatings and related products. We sell Sherwin-Williams labeled architectural coatings, industrial finishes and associated supplies through company-operated paint and wallcovering stores in 50 states, Canada and some countries of Latin America. We also manufacture and sell coatings such as Dutch Boy, Pratt & Lambert, Martin-Senour, Dupli-Color, Krylon, Thompson's and Minwax plus private label brands to independent dealers, mass merchandisers and home improvement centers. We produce coatings for original equipment manufacturers in a number of industries and special purpose coatings for the automotive aftermarket, industrial maintenance and traffic paint markets.
AS WITH MOST RETIRED COUPLES LIVING ON A FIXED INCOME, WE HAVE TO SPEND OUR MONEY CAREFULLY AND LOOK FOR THE "BEST BUYS FOR YOUR BUCK". SO WHEN WE HAD TO PAINT OUR HOME WE SHOPPED FOR THE BEST PAINT PRICES IN LAS VEGAS. OF COURSE, THEY WERE FOUND AT THE LARGER, CHAIN OUTLETS SUCH AS WALMART AND HOME DEPOT. BUT WHEN WE RAN OUT OF THE PAINT THAT WE WERE USING FOR ONE OF THE SMALLER ROOMS, WE DECIDED TO BUY THE SMALL AMOUNT THAT WE NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE JOB AT THE SHERWIN WILLAIMS ON W. SAHARA WHICH IS JUST ACROSS THE STREET FROM US. WHEN WE ARRIVED NOT ONE PERSON ASK IF THEY COULD HELP US. WE HAD TO WALK AROUND AND FIND A SALESPERSON. SINCE WE WERE THE ONLY CUSTOMERS IN THE STORE WE FOUND IT ODD THAT WE COULD NOT GET HELP. ONCE A SALESMAN DID COME OUT TO GREET US, HE WAS RUDE AND QUESTIONED OUR CHOICE OF PAINT. HE RELUCTENTLY MIXED OUR PAINT AND WHEN HE HANDED US THE BILL WE WERE FLABERGASTED!! IT WAS 3 TIMES THE PRICE OF WHAT WE HAD PAID AT THE OTHER STORE! WE PAID $65.00 FOR A GALLON OF PAINT!
WHEN WE LOOKED AT THEIR PAINT BRUSH INVENTORY WE PASSED ON BUYING A BRUSH AS THEY WERE SO EXPENSIVE! SO THE EMPLOYEE WAS RUDE, AND THE PRICES WERE VERY HIGH! BUT THEY DO HAVE FREE AND EASY PARKING! IN OUR OPINION STAY WITH THE LARGER CHAIN STORES TO GET THE BEST PRICES ON PAINT. NOW WE KNOW WHY WHEN WE LOOK AT THEIR PARKING LOT ACROSS THE STREET FROM US IT IS ALWAYS EMPTY!!
