*(After this review, I called the owner, Cristina and expressed again my dissatisfaction. She offered to do my hair herself or offered a refund. When I came in for the refund, I asked her why she handed me over to the other stylist. She said she was trying to give her business as well because her clientele was obviously established. She saw my hair dry and realized why I was so upset. I mentioned to her that I did not appreciate the overcharge and she said it was a miscommunication. She offered to do my hair anytime and apologized with tears in her eyes. I will not however, return to her salon for service.)*
First I would like to say that when I called to ask about stylist's expericence, the owner, M. Cristina Bastidas, assured me that all stylists had at least 15 years experience. I was also quoted $25 for a haircut and $85 for partial lowlights. I also told her how many times I have visited salons and was charged premium rates for poor quality work. She assured that would not happen due to her experienced staff. When I came in, the owner directed me to another stylist. While she was doing my hair I asked about her "how are you with foils and color?" She said, "um, I'm ok". Meanwhile the owner had no appointments and chose to hand me over to a stylist with less than two years experience. I explained to the stylist my nightmares with previous salons and how I expected not to have splotchy or bleeding color. During the service I realized, again, I was not getting what I asked for. Instead my lowlights came out uneven. One side of my head is brown and the other is blonde. The color did bleed and some foils even fell out and the dark color touched my blonde color leaving splotches and spots. To be fair the haircut was ok but uneven in the back. (which my friends pointed out later) I told her that I did not need my hair styled because I have to wear a ponytail to work. I was just mad and wanted to leave, I always get my hair styled. The owner heard me and I looked straight at her when I said it. The stylist told me she just wanted to run the blowdryer through my hair to show the work and cut. Fine. When I went to pay, the owner charged me an extra $20 for that damp blow dry with when no products or styling tools were used. I saw her write a receipt for the following. $25 for cut, $85 for lowlight, $20 for style.
I confronted her and asked her how she was charging me for a style. My hair was still damp and not styled and told her she clearly heard me say I did not need a style and to take it off my bill.
She then only took off $10 and added $5 to my haircut and $5 for a style. I asked for my receipt and she wrote a new one which I have photographed and uploaded. I paid $120 for a service I could have done myself. I am sick and tired of salons charging for services done incorrectly with inexperienced stylists.
