5 Stars: NO LONGER IN BUSINESS (victim of the economy) (by Melissa O)

Even though this was a corporate-controlled establishment, the vets did whatever they could to keep your bills affordable. One of my dogs needed a $275 "special canine" prescription but the vet wrote me a script for the generic form that cost me $10! They wanted pets to get the best care... and I guess that cost them in the end... but this was the quality that set them apart from other hospitals.
The vets at Painted Desert treated members of my dog family for 9 years without incident. Over that span of time they compassionately helped 4 of them cross the Rainbow Bridge with calm and caring hands. I have yet to find their high level of care for my dogs anywhere else. Drs. Heather Shoenberg and Karen Goodman, you are sorely missed!

1 Stars: I miss Doc McGookey (by Michelle H.)

I wish Dr. McGookey were still here. Although I've always like VCA Painted Desert Animal Hospital, the staff attitude changed when he left. I had a dog with epilepsy who needed a refill on his phenobarbitol. I was told he would not get it refilled until he had new bloodwork done, which would cost over $230. I did not have it at the time, so instead of giving me another three months of the medicine, I had to put my dog down. I miss my Bryce so much. My teenage son cried his eyes out. He wanted his dog to be kept alive, at least until he graduated, and went off to college (which was only another 6 more months). The staff was not very understanding, and the (new) doctor would not even take the time to speak to me.

4 Stars: VCA (by Markham M.)

VCA animal hospital is one of the best animal
hospitals in the city due to the fact of treating
both my cats with professionalism second to
none for an animal hospital.

4 Stars: Caring staff, excellent grooming services (by Joanee A.)

I've taken our black lab and her sisters (well, they are two kittens - but still sisters!) to this clinic, and had good experiences overall. As with any animal hospital, the cost for basic things like shots is higher than going to the animal shelter, i.e., Lied - but it is more convenient. They are good with making and keeping appointment times, and the staff is very caring and gentle. The dog groomer, Amy, is also excellent. My pup loves her!

5 Stars: AMAZING (by Morgan E.)

I have never been to such caring animal loving doctors in my life. I remember when I was little I took my sick hampster in and they took care of her and ended up having to put her to sleep. My dad came and got me, when he went to pay I cried my little eyes out and ran home. They did not make him pay they felt so bad.

Recently, I had to rush my cat in for her eye it was popped from her socket. They gave me an estimate of $800 to fix it and I told them I had no choice but to put her to sleep I could not pay that. They reduced it down to only material cost so she could get fixed. They could care less about the money they wanted to fix my cat. AMAZING CARING HOSPITAL TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!
