Husker Automotive

I have FINALLY found a competent, reasonable automotive shop!!!
I have lived in this town for 14 years and have had nothing but bad luck with mechanics in ALL areas of Las Vegas. These other shops, not only ripped me off, but did NOT even fix the various problems. One particular problem I have had over the past 2 and a half years is the starting of my car. Everyone I have taken it to said it was this or that and I trusted their word. To no avail my car STILL did not work properly (in fact I ended up stranded off the 215) and had to get a loan to pay the bill! Then, to find out they didn't even fix the right part! (AutoTec and SunValley Auto, FYI)

I took my car to Husker Auto a couple of weeks ago and Tom and his associate were, over the top, helpful, and, most of all, actually FIXED the starting issue. It runs BEAUTIFULLY, just like when it was new! I am so grateful for their service that I feel I can trust them to take care of the other issue (drums & shoes) next week. I FULLY 100% recommend them and have told everyone I know, what a fantastic crew they are!!! They actually know what they are doing and they won't put you in the poor house! I have ZERO complaints! Thankx guys!!

My car broke down ~60 miles south of Vegas and had to get towed into town. I called Tom, the owner, who came and opened his shop at 9:30 pm so I could put my car in the garage overnight. Tom then helped me get a cab that night so that I could go get a rental car. The next day was Saturday and Tom worked from 7:00 am 3:30 pm to get my car fixed, he was suppose to get off at 12 pm. Even after working an extra 3 hrs he still offered to drive me to the rental car dealership to save me a cab fare. My car runs great and Tom even called me the next day to make sure I made it home safe and to check on the car. Not many people would wake up to open up there shop, work an extra 3 hrs on a Saturday, drive you to a rental car dealership to save you a cab fare, and call to check on you the next day. Im a U.S. Naval Officer and thanks to Tom was able to be back to work on Monday and get back to my family. Tom I owe you one, thanks again.

Tom and his crew did an awesome job. I had an intermittent problem that Tom couldn't re-produce. He told me he wasn't going to take a chance and start charging me for possible unnecessary services, to watch for re-occurring problems and report them back to him. It took a couple more weeks for the issue to surface. The fuel pump failed and he resolved the issue quickly. I went ahead and had him perform a 100k service while he was at it. The vehicle came back running like it had just come off the showroom floor. He also guarantees parts for up to 1 year. Highly recommend Husker if you want honest dependable work.

I wish i had seen the reviews before i decided to go into that shop. Not only was he rude and offensive, but he quoted me higher than a place down the street. I am new to town so don't have a set place i go so wanted to meet a good honest repair man. Definitely didn't find him here. I ended up going with Tom but he kept making up excuses for why the repair hadn't gone well. He blamed it on my driving style of all things! I have never had a ticket and try to dry as safe as possible.

DON'T USE HIM IF YOU HAVE OTHER OPTIONS

WOW!!! I went to Husker automotive because a friend of a friend is friends with his girlfriend Terry A. (which explains why she gave a raving review)..I did not tell the owner I was referred..well lets say i didn't get that far before he started hitting on me. He quoted me a fair price but I took it somewhere else anyway. Sorry, I wont deal with a man who is classless!!! A honorable marine my ass!

DIRTBAG!!! My girlfriend went here since a coworker of hers referred her. The quote she got was almost DOUBLE what the dealer quoted her and on top of that the owner Tom was hitting on her!!! She wrote a negative review here but seem all the negative ones here get removed. The owner must have an inside connection..Watch ..this one will be removed too..Just know this place is a complete RIPOFF.. and the owner thinks he is some kind of player!!!! HAHA!!! mullet and all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was traveling back to So. California this weekend with my family when the AC on my SUV went out. I pulled off the freeways and stumbled across Husker Automotive. It was well past closing and the owner (Tom) was just heading towards his car to leave for the night. I asked him if there was anything he could do to help. I can"t say enough about what he did for us...he stayed late and fixed the AC. He got it working so well that my kids had to use blankets as we drove home through the 110 degree desert weather. Excellent work - class act owner!

I had the pleasure of dealing with Tom , he was very very helpful and pleasant! He had my car done when he said he would!!! I will recommend him to my family and friends and continue to give him my business!!

For over 7 years I have had all my car and truck repairs and normal maintenance performed at Husker Automotive of Las Vegas, NV. Tom's (the owner) prices are very competitive and certainly much better than any dealer. I have been pleased with every one of my auto repairs done by Tom or Greg. My repairs have ranged from simple oil changes to complete engine replacement. Tom is a certificated Mechanic, a professional and has always treated me with the highest degree of courtesy and respect. I highly recommend Husker Automotive for any and all your Auto repairs.

worst scam in Las Vegas! The owner is rude and quoted me over twice the quote I had before. Then when I said I wanted to get a second opinion he snapped off on me and made me pay 100 bucks just for looking at it- he quoted me 900 and then when I said I had a quote for 650 he tried to back peddle- the guy is a weasel and a thief- do NOT take your car to this place unless you don't mind paying double!

After 7 years my car sat in the garage and Husker Auto brought it and myself to life. I brought my car to two other auto shops (rated the best) and did not want to take on the project after they said it was easy over the phone. Husker took on the challenge, not only did Husker succeed but Greg and Tom overachieved, They treated my car as if it was their own. Not only did they repair the vehicle but cleaned and had great suggestions. Greg is modestly highly skilled beyond the handful of mechanics i have come across And Tom is more than fair. highly knowledgeable and honest family oriented.

In July of this year, I contracted with Mr. Tom Bergman owner of Husker Automotive at 544 E. Silverado Ranch Blvd, # 102, Las Vegas NV 89183 to replace the engine and make other repairs to my 1985 Ford Mustang.

The work Mr. Bergman and his employee performed was good and on time.

The engine Mr. Bergman owner of Husker Automotive purchased came from Power Source at 2230 Macintosh Drive, Horn Lake, MS 38637. Web: http://www.psengines.com.

I contacted Stan at Power Source and asked what it would cost to purchase an engine for my 1985 Ford Mustang. Stan said it was $1,359.00 plus a $200 core charge which would be refunded when Power Source received the core of the exchange engine.

Therefore, the net cost of the new engine was $1,559 - $200 = $1,359.

Mr. Bergman owner of Husker Automotive billed me $2,995.00 for the new engine. Labor was additional.

Before you use Husker Automotive to work on your car. I strongly suggest that you buy the parts yourself.

We took are truck to Husker Automotive for some major repairs. These guys fixed our truck and it has never ran as good as it does now. These guys are great,excellent service & professionalism. We will definately go back again.

My wife had taken her car to see Tom "the owner" and he was nice enough to stay late after closing time to make sure that my wife's car was fixed by the next day. He even offered to give her a ride home.

I had a great experience, and I found the owner to be most helpful. Highly recommend for service. Was in Las Vegas from NY and was in need of car repair...got me right in and took care of my repair needs.

This place is a complete rip off. The guy overcharged me for the part by two hundred percent. I thought his quote seemed high, and when I called the dealer to price the part, I couldn't believe how much I was getting rippped off. I pointed this out to the scumbag owner, and he said he had already given me a break on the labor. I will never send my car back to this weasel.

These reviews don't match my experience at all! I was just there. The owner was very accommodating. Speedy service, fair price, and friendly employees. I will go back again, and I plan to tell my friends to go there, as well.

Drive a little further down the road and you will find so much better, than the services offered here. The staff is rude and they charge for everyhing. Maybe I should say over charge for their services. Not one employee is polite. The owner is the rudest of them all. There are too many other places to go for your car needs.

Owner is not a nice person and charges way too much for sub-standard work. Most times the owner isn't even there and leaves his sub-standard mechanics to do everything. Had to take my car back for the same repair three times and he tried to charge me for it, again, when it was his fault it still wasn't working!!!
