This is one of the most romantic restaurants I've ever been to. . Pure class. The wine list was great. Interesting people can be found at this restaurant.

Although they are not on the strip they honestly know how to provide great service, food, and ambience at a not so shocking price tag. I live right nearby and so go there a lot and it's one of the best reasons for living in Spring Valley

I always try new restaurants when I go to LV, but I also always devote one night per trip to eat at Ferraro's. It is old school Italian, with a live but unobtrusive band, and healthy and creative portions of food. Their signature dish, osso buco, is about the size of a shoe, so two people could probably share one. The anchovy salad is very tasty, as is their port chop, rabbit, lobster rissoto, and any pasta dish. As well as their desserts. They key here: Don't go there if you expect some trendy nouveau Strip cuisine. There is a reason Mimmo has kept things the same way for years and years, and people keep coming back. This is traditional Italian all the way, from the food to the ambience. And speaking as one whose ancestors hail from Milan, Ferraro's is a refreshing change from restaurants that try too hard to reinvent the wheel. On another note, I read one review that complained about the restaurant's location, being out west on Flamingo road, far away from the Strip. Truth be told, once you pass the Palms heading west, you will get there in 5 minutes because the traffic eases up so much. Well worth the trip, I promise.

Visited Las Vegas and couldn't wait to try Mimmo Ferraro's on a Thursday afternoon around 2pm. The restaurant was very nice and everything was fantastic until we had to wait for almost 50 minutes to receive our food and we had to grab the bus boy to check on our order.. Our Waitress was terrible and forgot about us because she was too busy chatting with a table of men that turned out to be the owner. A horrible experience the food was good but not good enough to put up with lousy service. Would not visit again and would not recommend to anyone.

In Las Vegas, it is always nice to find an off-the-strip place faithfully and consistently patronized by the local community. Ferraro?s is a perfect example of such place.

In 1985, Gino Ferraro created a unique dining experience in his bone fide authentic Italian restaurant. Then in 2003, upon his graduation from the California Culinary Academy and studying in Italy, Mimmo Ferraro (Gino?s son), has taken over the everyday duties of running Ferraro?s and serving some of the best food in town.

We started our meal with an outstanding salad, Cappuccina con Gorgonzola, which is almost like a butter lettuce wedge with something extra. As Ferraro?s is best known for their sumptuous and award winning Osso Buco, I had to indulge. It did not disappoint, and was probably the best I?ve ever had. It is highly recommended.

JetSetWay Tip - The shank is called Osso Buco in Italian, literally ?hole bone?, because the bone marrow is part of the appeal of the dish.

We were particularly impressed with an incident over Allyn?s Fettucini Pomodoro. Although it was prepared exactly as per usual, it was not prepared the way she prefers. The waiter heard the conversation and immediately brought out the chef. The chef professionally and kindly listened to her preference, and five minutes later she had a fresh plate, her food cooked exactly as she prefers. Really, they could not have been nicer or more accommodating.

Though I normally stay away from dessert, tonight we shared the Hazelnut and Chocolate Crepe with Mascarpone Cheese, served with Vanilla Gelato. It was the BEST. Kudos to Mimmo, Gino and the whole family. When you go there, be sure to say "Ciao" to Mimmo, who is always around, and tell him I sent you.

I have been dining out in Vegas for the past 20yrs, I must say that Ferraros has treated me like family every time I walk in the door. I know that I can bring guests there and they will have a fabulous dinner as well as the royal treatment from Gino and now even Mimmo is out and about from the kitchen and really cares if the customers are happy. As for the wine list at Ferroros, unbelievable! Gino will help you choose a wine that is best for your dining expierence, he is just as delightful when picking a $30.00 bottle or a $200.00 bottle. When you want to have an amazing meal, and good company, Mimmo Ferraros is the place to be.

Due to the reviews and overall look of the place, I gave it a try. The atmosphere is nice and settlingly. The waiter seemed nice at first. After looking through the extensive wine list, I asked the waiter for a wine suggestion. He seemed to look at me in disgust. Due to my age and his assumption of my finicial status, he asked what i could afford. This was the first insult as a customer. After selecting a less expensive bottle of wine, our service went down hill. After ordering a few appetizers, there was no acknowledgement of my presence. Only walking past me with disgruntled looks, the waiter sure was taking care of the other tables with what he felt was a " bigger bill, is a bigger tip" motto. I must say the asapargus wrapped in prosciutto was excellent, when it finally arrived. I will not take that away from this place. As for dinner, I ordered the restaurants so called, "special here" which was the lobster diavolo. A pasta served with lobster, shrimp, scallops and oysters over a white cream sauce.
When my main dish arrived, I was shocked and amazed at the taste. It was as bland and tasteless as it gets. The serving size was fair, but the flavor was missing. The dish was missing key ingredients, spices. With a white cream sauce that tasted like milky water and no spice, this was dish was "no special here". On top of a disappointing presentation and taste, there was NO LOBSTER.. After being honest about the dish, and mentioning the missing lobster, the waiter simply shrugged, apologized, and then tried to convince me that the pieces of scallops he pointed to, were lobster chunks. this was the final insult, which ended this meal with one very unhappy customer. . Which goes to show, this place is not a 4 star restaurant, has some bad waiters on the clock, and the chef might be "special" himself for putting such food on a plate and calling it authentic italian.

What a disappointment. I took four friends to Ferraro?s on a Sunday evening after hearing wonderful things about their half-price wine Sunday?s. Ferraro?s easily has one of the best Italian wine lists in Vegas, but that?s all they?ve got. The food was extremely disappointing and so was the service; though it slightly improved when the server learned that one of my guests? and I are both fine dinning servers on the Strip. If you?re going to enjoy a killer bottle of Italian wine Ferraro?s is great, just don?t order any food!

I only write reviews when something is either really great or really horrible and this was really horrible. First off, they had a menu outside with prices that must have been a lunch menu because the prices inside were about triple those prices. But, my friends and I aren't afraid to splurge and we were ready for a great Italian meal. Well, where do I start? How about being charged twice for drinks. We were going to start with ordering several appetizers and then split them between us five guys. We started to order appetizers and after ordering the tomato and mozzarella plate, the waiter said he could do better than that. Fine, so we ordered the tomato and mozzarella along with two things that he suggested. Well, instead of bringing three plates of separate appetizers like we ordered, he brought each of us an individual plate with all the stuff on it. We thought this was great, until we realized at the end, when the bill was delivered, that they charged us for each individual instead of just for each appetizer. Just the simple tomato and mozzarella was over $50. But, wait, it gets worse. Not one of us thought our food was anywhere close to being worth what we paid for it, but I ordered lamb chops that were tougher than a Clint Eastwood cowboy character. For two, (yes, TWO) small lamb chops and some unimpressive stack of vegetables, it was $44. While I'm not opposed to spending money for a great meal, this was far, FAR from being even 'okay'. The lamb chops were horribly overdone and the last one was so tough and over-cooked and dry that I actually didn't finish it. The bill was astronomical and we felt totally taken. The food was not great and the cost was way beyond reasonable for such average food. (And in the case of my lamb chops, horrible).

This is by far, BY FAR, the worst restaurant in terms of food to cost ratio that I have EVER been to. And I've been to some nice places. We felt cheated and taken.

Sorry if i get wordy...but its rare when you go to a restaurant over and over...and each time...is a wonderful, wonderful experience. As a local...there are few restaurants were i can enjoy quality of food AND quality of service that makes me feel as special as a visitor to our city! The OWNER knows his customers and remembers you with every visit to his restuarant...ive never seen anything like it! Ive tried about 4 of their appetizers that were soooo good, i wanted seconds. Ravioli...is just ravioli...NOT here! The pasta itself is perfectly cooked...never overcooked. The stuffing melts in your mouth. NOTHING is too thick, too glumpy...and yet...the sauces are never so thin, that they become non distinct. All of the sauces Ive tried compliment perfectly. Their Sea Bass...OH MY! I could go on and on about the various dishes...and so far...I havent had one I didnt enjoy. But its not just the food. Its the caliber of the waiters/waitresses. Its the way the owner makes you feel when he comes around and sincerely wants to know if you are enjoying yourself. He never misses a beat...he is constantly in the restaurant, always overseeing what is happening. THIS is the kind of restaurant you find in NY City, Chicago, Boston. This is where you all should go, if you want to relax, have the various food experiences blend and not fight each other in your mouth. THIS is where you go when you want to end your evening feeling this wasnt a meal...this was a significant event during your vacation here or if you are a local like me...a wonderful night, well spent. GO! See if im not right.

During my recent stay in Las Vegas, I searched the web to find the best Italian Restaurant in the area. My time spent searching in GOOGLE paid off. Mimmo Ferraro's ranks up there with the top Italian Restaurants that I have visited around the world. Off course I had to try their famous osso bucco and I was very impressed. I am Italian myself, so it is hard for me find a red sauce that I like as much as my Mom's but Mimmo's was on the money. The service I received was also excellent. If you are looking for great Italian food in Vegas, I would highly recommend paying a visit to Mimmo Ferraro's.

Disappointed after the excellent reviews. First off, my husband and I do not eat veal so the house specialty osso buco was off limits. I started off with the ceasar salad and requested anchovies, very surprised to see that I was charged for this when the bill came. My husband ordered the fettuccine carbonara. Unlike no other carbonara we have ever had. I mentioned this to our server because I thought they had delived the wrong meal, fettuccine with a pink sauce. The waiter informed us they use paprika and cream. How odd! I ordered the gnocchi with bolognese sauce. The gnocchi was outstanding but the bolognese sauce was mediocre. Will look for another Italian restaurant to try next time we are in town.

If you are looking for a great meal with great ambiance in Las Vegas, take the trouble to go to Ferraro's. I have been going to outstanding restaurants all over the US for many years and have never had a better meal. It began with the wonderful dipping sauce (olive oil, pesto and spices) and bread. The Caesar salad was very good, but the real knockout was the house special Osso Bucco. It is beyond good. I guarantee a meal you will never forget. The service was equal to the food. I gave it five stars only because I couldn't give it ten. We had dinner at Spago the night before and it does not compare to Ferraro's in quality of the food or service. I will never come back to Vegas without coming here.

Pros: There was a table of misbehaving kids near us and somehow the staff convinced them to leave. I was blown away and very very appreciative. The kids were ruining the meal.

We have never had Veal better than this. The Osso Bucco was incredible as was the rest of our dinner. Our server & guide Corrado was extremely knowledgeable & very personable. He added to our wonderful dining experience. We grew up in an Italian/Jewish neighborhood in N.J. & know great Italian food. Ferraro's was highly recommended by our Casino hosts & they were right on. We will recommend Ferraro's to all.

We found this gem to be everything we expected and more! This restaurant offers a quiet and romantic getaway from typical Vegas. Mimmo's is not on "The Strip" which was a big bonus to begin with, no flashing lights or constant "bing, bing, bing" of machines. We were enjoying a night on the town without the kids and had a great experience. We were promptly seated in a cozy booth and were greeted by our outstanding waiter "Zoli". Zoli served us a lovely amuse bouche of rolled fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, basil and pine nuts, drizzled with honey and accompanied with a flute of Prosecco! It was a great prelude to our evening. We looked through the expansive wine list and decided on a great bottle for around $70 dollars. There are less expensive and dramatically more expensive choices available as well. We started our meal off with a great salad for my wife and an appetizer for myself. What an appetizer it was! Asparagus spears wrapped in many layers of prosciutto topped with melted fresh mozzarella and drizzled with aged Balsamic. It was served piping hot and I couldn't stop eating every last bite. It would be great to share as a couple or among a group of 4, but I did it all alone which I later regretted. My wife ordered the Osso Buco, Mimmo's signature dish and for very good reason. My wife was blown away! She said it was among the top 5 things she has EVER eaten. Large portion of Veal shank, fork tender in a sauce that was too good not the lick the plate for! I ordered the Evening Special "Seafood Medley Ravioli." It was a combo of Lobster, Crab, Shrimp and Scallops in stuffed house-made ravioli in a butter and sage sauce. It was delicious but I was getting full quickly (too much of the appetizer...). Zoli approached at the end of the meal to sing praises for dessert, especially the Tiramisu, but we unfortunately we had to save it for our future visit.
Miimmo's was tremendous, the food excellent and service was fun yet dignified! A must try!

Our server brought the wrong dishes and opened bottles of sparkling water that we did not order. Of course, we were charged later. Server had a terrible attitude and got worse when we tipped him. He came out to the parking lot to ask why didn't we tip him more. After that he said "in the name of the restaurant you are no longer welcome here". We looked for a manager but it was 11.30pm and no manager was around. We left our business cards and until now we have not received a phone call. We know what is quality and service since my friends, me and my husband are Chefs and Front of the House managers of high end restaurants of 2 of the best casinos in Las Vegas... So, just a piece of advice, do not go there, is better to spend that money at a better place, were service is good (server are educated) and food is at least ok.

The osso bucco is phenomenal and the accolades don't stop there. This award-winning restaurant is a must on any foodie's list. This is a restaurant that we have recalled fondly ever since our first visit there in the early 90s. In fact, every one of our visits to Las Vegas has included Ferraro's on our dining list... I just wish we could have dined there every time. Indeed, this is a pilgrimage-worthy restaurant!

Pros: Amazing Osso Bucco

Cons: The Osso Bucco is so good that we haven't tried anything else on the menu

I ordered a veggie ravioli, but realized that the there was bacon pieces on it (the menu did not say this). Before ordering the main dish we rejected the complementary appetizer because there was meat in it. So, the server knew that we did not want meat on our food. Also, after I realized the bacon pieces on my ravioli I asked the server and I was told that those were "dried tomato." It looked like even the server did not know what was inside the dish. Be CAREFUL when ordering if you do not want meat on your food.

Had a wedding dinner for my daughter invloving a small group (12 people) last week. Everyone loved the food but even more so, the service. Our waiter Francisco did a fantastic job. He and his assistants served the bride and groom first, followed by the other women and then the men. They did a class job all evening and I will be going back there in December when I am attending a convention.

Even though the restaurant is three miles west of the strip on Flamingo road, you will find the short drive or cab ride worth it. Average price for meal including a salad was around $45 (excluding wine cost). Wine selection was good and there was also live music that wasn't
intrusive.

Prior to going there I called the restaurant and asked if they could supply a cake. I was told they don't normally do that but I was free to bring one in. I had a bakery deliver the cake and Francisco brought it out for the formal cake cutting and then they served the cake for us. Real class!

Thanks Francisco for helping make my daughter's wedding a success!!

Cons: None

Hint: Download the 58-page winelist before you go and choose your dishes to go with your wine choices....then take a taxi away from the strip and be transported to "Italian Food Heaven"....Be prepared for the kind of meal that you will compare all other Italian restaurants against. Please try one of the two risotto entrees with someone (make that your appetizer)...then have the best Osso Bucco in the U.S. You just have to look at it and the meat falls off the bone!! I'm sure that everything else on the menu is wonderful (my wife always tries other things and she tells me so)..but I cannot keep myself from having this every time....the service is excellent, the owner comes out to check your happiness level, and the warmth and comfort of the restaurant is a wonderful change from the strip restaurants.

This restaurant offers the best in Las Vegas dining. The food was wonderful, the waiters were very professional, the wine list extensive, the food substantial and absolutely delicious. The risoto is one of their specialties, and is their tiramisu. One comment however, the $ indicates an inexpensive restaurant. This, it is not. For 2 people with an entre each, an inexpensive bottle of wine, and desert, we paid >$150, but it was worth it. This restaurant is upscale, so no jeans and T-shirts.

While I agree that this restaurant has great food, I suggest that you look at your price note of ONE dollar. I believe it should be TWO. Tale a look at their dinner menu. 7 out of 23 listings on the dinner menu are over $20 each (Osso Bucco is $35).

Eating with Mimo and Gino Ferrarro is like having Sunday dinner the way it used to be at my Grandma's house in NYC. The service , food, everything is Fantastic! They treat you like extended family. It's my place for dinner with friends and family in LV. Great Wine list. The wait staff is professional and knows how to take care of you. Pick a dish ,anyone , you will impressed. Great Piano Bar!

Each time we go to Vegas, which is about 4 times per year, we make it a point to go to Ferraro's. Each time I know of someone going, I reccomend Ferraro's. We always have great food, great service and a wonderful atomosphere and for the price, it can't be beat.

The owner comes to your table. The food is perfect. The atmosphere is ideal. It is a touch of old Vegas...and it is the best!
Don't bring kids and don't be silly and wear jeans...this is an upscale classey place.
The only thing missing is the music in the bar; their long-time lounge act left and has been replaced by really bad performers.

went on Wednesday evening and was very crowded. But the service was excellent. The Waiters even though they were on the run took time to always check on our needs. Last but not Least the Food was just outstanding

A taste of old Las Vegas elegance that makes you feel special from the moment you step in the door and receive a charming "Italian" welcome. The intimate booths guarantee that your conversation and meal are private. Then enjoy dancing in the small friendly bar-lounge to live piano music and vocals.
