Buffalo Exchange is judgemental!

by sarah t.

i have shopped there a couple of times and i did get some pretty nice things. the prices are definitely high for a thrift store, though. the worst part about the store, though, i would say, is trying to sell them your clothes. i have tried to sell them things i bought FROM THEM and they wouldn't take them. then, my friend and i literally took a sharpie to an old pink shirt and wrote something stupid and meaningless on it, and they TOOK IT! they literally just judge what you're wearing when you come in there, and if you're not dressed like them, they won't buy your stuff. period.

Buffalo Exchange is Garbage

by The Clothing E.

By far one of the WORST thrift stores I've been to in the Longest time. They will not give you no where near what you would expect for Quality clothing that you have. They sucker people out of there clothing for a few bucks and then turn around & sell it to make a 190% profit. Buffalo Exchange Sucks!!! Do not go there.Beware of these Crooks. The people that work there are Trained to sucker people out of their stuff. They are very Rude & Uneducated when it comes to Clothing, Buying & Sales. I mean just look at how the Employee's Dress. I don't understand how they are still in business?

they suck

by John M.

They only buy white people clothes. i had all new jeans even some with price tags on them and they would not take them. The clothes were expensive, they sale used clothes for the price of clothes you can get new for cheaper and the lady that helped me said the clothes were to big and she wasn't the smallest person i ever seen, she looked pregnant.

This place is really inexpensive and there are a wide variety of styles for various people. The workers are nice and I can always find cool things in there.

Good prices, nice styles

by V C. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 6,531

For the most part, the styles were pretty good. I found my favorite pair of jeans there for a really good price. Some of the clothes and shoes are questionable though. Overall, the clothes are definitely worth the price!

All about the vintage look

by Chard M. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 12,773

They will voluntarily help you to find your vintage look and branded stuffs. They sell and buy back vintage clothes. The price is higher than they should charge for such a used second hand store.

Cool stuff, a little too pricey for the used

by Catherine F. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,821

This is a nice store with a wide selection of unique clothing, footwear and accessories that would be difficult to find at just anywhere. Practically all of the items are used but its still somewhat pricey but not too much that it costs the same as new. I havent tried selling items there yet, so I cant comment on how the process works, but buying things there was a fine experience for me. Just rummage through their stacks long enough and youll find a great deal.

Used clothes that are IN

by Anonymous

This is the first used clothing store I've been to where they had brands such as: Abercrombie & Fitch, American Outfitter, Hollister, etc... Name brand clothing for CHEAP. Being across the street from UNLV it gives students, on a very low budget, name brand clothing at a price everyone agrees with. If you have any used clothing you can trade it in for store credit and get other clothes. But what I really like best is the option of getting your clothes in a plastic bag, or a token that supports a charity. Good deals for good clothes, everyone wins.

College Haven

by W B. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,158

This is where all the college kids go and sell there clothes when they get clothes from loved ones that they don't care for. You can find really cool stuff here and top name brands, but it does seem they got kind of greedy with their prices and could be a little cheaper. I don't care for the neighborhood, as it is a very busy troubled area to get in and out of

Cool Stuff

by Nicole S. | insider Insider | Rank: 14,259

This is a really neat clothing store. They have everything from vintage clothing to little accessories. They also have some great great brand name clothing and shoes. This store buys, sells, and trades clothes and shoes. I have shopped at this store and sold my old clothes to them for years. They do not give you a whole lot when you sell your stuff to them but they do give you a better trade value for store credit. I have actually bought quite a few of my Halloween accessories from here. The stuff they sell is pretty cheap and in very good condition. If you like vintage clothes or just like a funky, different style, I would recommend that you check this place out.

Name Brand Thrift Store

by Sherena B. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,987

Want to shop at a second hand store but you don't want the second hand look? Buffalo Exchange is the best place to go. They only accept designer/name brand items in good condition. They pay anyone who brings in clothes, but they are very picky and they don't give you your money's worth. It's like a clothing pawn shop. But they do offer nice clothes and accessories.

PROS: Good clean clothes
CONS: Prices are too high to be a second hand store

High price for used clothes

by Kristina M. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,301

I never wanna buy clothes there anymore. The prices are overpriced. I think it's not worthed anyway, wherelse I could buy brand new clothes at Forever 21or Rampage for about the same price. In another hand, they are very very selective to buy back your clothes. Of course, they'll buy them with cheap prices plus 35% cut in addition to that, if you just wanna get the cash, instead of getting the store credit. It's unworthed!!!

HIGH PRICE FOR USED CLOTHING/ RUDE MANAGEMENT

by CINDY R. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 434

I HAVE GONE TO TWO BUFFALO EXCHANGE OUTLETS..ONE IN PORTLAND, OREGON AND THE ONE IN LAS VEGAS ON S. MARYLAND STREET. I FIANLLY LEARNED MY LESSON..NO MORE TRIPS TO THE BUFFALO EXCHANGE. FIRST OF ALL THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO PURCHASE CLOTHING FOR THEIR RESALE PROGRAM. THE CLOTHES THAT I TOOK IN TO THE TWO STORES WERE CLEAN,PRESSED AND GENTLY USED..THEY WOULD NOT BUY ONE ITEM FROM ME OUT OF OVER 200 ITEMS OF CLOTHING! NOT JUST ME AS I WATCHED OTHER CUSTOMERS IN LINE BEING VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THEIR CLOTHING WERE NOT PURCHASED EITHER. SECOND OF ALL, THE CLOTHING ON THE RACKS WERE HIGHLY OVER-PRICED. THEY WERE SELLING USED JEANS FOR OVER $40.OO!! THEY WERE SELLING USED, ORDINARY TEE SHIRTS FOR OVER $20.00!!! THIS IS A PLACE WHERE YOU TRY TO FIND A GOOD PRICE FOR USED CLOTHING BUT JUST TRY TO FIND A PAIR OF USED BOOTS FOR UNDER $40.00..NOT! YOU CAN BUY NEW CLOTHES AT TARGET,WALMART, K-MART, ETC, FOR DOLLARS LESS THAN THE BUFFALO EXCHANGE. SOME OF THE SALES STAFF WERE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL, BUT AS FAR AS THE MANAGERS THAT I CAME IN CONTACT WITH I FOUND THEM TO BE RUDE AND ARROGANT AND VERY BOSSY! AS FAR AS THE LAYOUT OF THE STORE IT IS NICE AND CLEAN AND DECORATED VERY APPEALING. THE PARKING AT THE LAS VEGAS STORE IS FREE AND EASY BUT THE PORTLAND, OREGON STORE IS STREET PARKING ONLY AND YOU HAVE TO DRIVE AROUND BLOCK AFTER BLOCK TO FIND A PARKING SPACE AND THEN LUG IN ALL OF YOUR OLD CLOTHES ONLY TO HAVE THEM REJECTED. I WILL NEVER TRY TO SELL CLOTHING THERE AGIAN AND I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AS I CAN GET NEW CLOTHES FOR A LESSOR PRICE.

PROS: NICE LOOKING LAYOUT OF STORE/EASY FREE PARKING
CONS: VERY HIGH PRICES/RUDE MANAGEMENT/ NEVER DO BUY THE CLOTHING

Overpriced Used Clothes

by Emire O. | insider Insider | Rank: 28,969

The quality and selection is great. Its a huge store that is stocked with a lot of choices for clothing. They are selective about what they buy to stock the store with. There aren't clothes with stains and such like you find in some thrift stores. However, considering that the clothing is used the prices seem to be a bit on the high side. It doesn't make sense to me to buy used clothes when I could buy new for not much more money.

PROS: Good quality items
CONS: expensive

Great vintage clothes

by Ryan F. | insider Insider | Rank: 17,499

They have an awsome selection when it comes to used clothes because they don't accept just any thing. They only take the best of the used clothes. Dont waste your time at the good will any more.
