We have been at Casitas for 2days now and all we have done is kill cockroaches. Its aweful. It may kill our credit , but we have to leave. They have caused us so much mental distress we already can't take anymore. Don't move here.

This used to be a good, clean, safe place to live when the Property Manager Daisy was here. Complaints were taken seriously and handled thoroughly and immediately. The property was kept clean - no pigeons or bugs - the lot lights worked all the time and security was available.

About six months ago, Daisy went to another property and we got a new "Property Manager" named Perla. The entire complex has landed in the toilet since she got here. Crime is up (if you ever need a Metro officer, just stop by and there should be one here); the entire place is filthy - residents keep trash on their porches which makes the pigeon population huge and, with that, you get the filth of the pigeon droppings which brings the bugs. There is no security by day, because the security officer sits inside the office all day long protecting Perla and her assistant - apparently there was a conflict in the office - probably over resident issues simply being ignored, so the security officer plants himself in the office the entire day. Daisy never had those problems because she addressed issues and made this complex a nice place to live.

There is supposed to be a $50 fine for not picking up after your dog, but I seem to be the only resident doing just that. Any given time you can find dogs wandering the property and, yes they live here and yes I have complained to the office....in vain. With pet droppings all over - you guessed it, you get the bugs!

The street lights governed by the complex work on a part time basis, and the security lights on the buildings have timers that are off - lights on daytime and off at night. Again, I have complained about both and were told that in January they were budgeting for all lights on the buildings - not much help if the timers are off.

I will not renew my lease and am investigating whether I can legally break it since they have not upheld any portion on their side.

Maintenance issues are not addressed timely and when you can get someone to listen, the repairs are haphazard and micromanaged so things just break over and over and over. It took 14 days for someone to come look at my roof leak, and since the rain was long gone by then, not much could be done.

Appliances are old - refrigerator rattles and no markings on the oven knobs makes cooking a challenge.

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT MOVE HERE...I promise you will regret it.
