Sun City Animal Hospital

This truly an animal's hospital! They took care of our dog for the past 3 years. Last month, our 14 year old heeler went into seizures in the middle of the night and the night shift transferred me directly to the Doctor. Dr. Heuber met us at the clinic -- in the middle of the night! Dr Heuber did a thorough check-up and immediately gave our dog medication to keep her from further pain. Unfortunately it was time to let our poor girl go; but, the compassion and caring shown by both the doctor and night staff was very comforting. Let it be known that professional service can be counted on at the Sun City Animal Hospital!

Dr. Werner asked for my dogs' previous medical records and when I faxed it in to him personally he failed to make sure my dogs vaccination records were updated in her chart. I had continuously been mailed a card saying she needed her rabies shot which she had already had elsewhere. After I called the office they advised me to disregard and she is up to date. One year later, I was mailed a card stating she needed 3 vaccines (sans the rabies). I called the office and was quoted $55 on the phone. After her exam and shots I was advised my total was $65. I asked what the extra $10 was for and the told me for the Rabies Vaccine. They gave her a vaccine which she did not need. I only hope this does not have an adverse reaction. Dr. Werner personally does not handle himself in a way that is tactful and displayed a complete lack of class when dealing with him. In additon, he obviously did not follow up when he got my dogs records faxed - To make sure her records were correct given our conversation in person. This facility and Dr. are completely negligent and I would not ever reccommend them given my experiences. I thought their only fault as with most vets were trying to rack up the bill which Dr. Werner had no problem doing on our first visit suggestion unneccessary medications and x-rays, but the extent of thier poor medical practices in completely upsetting!

I think this is one of he best hopitals i have been to in vegas the are resonably priced and all the doctors are very compasionate. I would reccommend everyone to go there Dr. O'Brien Rocks!

i've taken my little scout there since she was a kitten. only reason i dont give a 5 (shd really be a 4.5) is b/c there was one bad visit (in all the times i've gone there). bobbi (up front) is wonderful as are the vets, esp Dr. Labry. what i truly love is that no matter what i bring scout in for, they answer questions for me so i am a better caregiver for my cat. Also, g-d bless Bobbi for the special care she provided for scout while i was hospitalized. truly wonderful person.

I've been going here for 8 years with my pets and he takes such good care of them. Always very good about explaining things and discussing options if it's something more serious.

I used to take all my animals here until one of the vets here really made me mad. My puppy fell in our pool in the morning. By the afternoon, after work, he sounded wheezy so I took him in. This is a puppy that we were not keeping but from an unplanned litter and he would be going away. The girls took the puppy away and said the vet would be out soon to talk to me. When he did come out, he showed me xrays with fluid filled lungs and said his prognosis was not good. AND he had started and IV, gave him a catheter, gave him other injections etc. all without asking me what I wanted done. I told him with a bad prognosis to put him down. I had to sign for this. No where did I ask for the bloodwork to be done or anything else above the xrays that would have told me all I needed to know at that time. I left paying $340 and came home empty handed. The xrays were 45 and the euthanasia was under 100. I wrote and told him what I thought of padding my bill. Just like someone who has auto work done. If you come in for brakes they don't just add on a transmission. That is unethical. But with society the way it is today, no one seems to recognize ethics in the first place. If the vet had come out and said... this is what I can do, bloodwork, cath, IV, IM, etc, I would have said no. But I was not enlisted in this decision. I had a precious dog that was wasting away. I had her teeth cleaned there because she didn't eat. I thought her gums hurt is why I did it. $100. 2wks later she couldn't stand up, she was yellow, obvious liver damage, probably that dog food poisoning from not catching a common fungus. At that time they asked if I wanted bloodwork etc to find the cause. I said no, she's too sick put her down. That was a different vet. I don't even know their names. The morally flexible one is younger, mid 30s brown hair white male. FYI.

The staff here is very nice and remembers my animals names every time we come. We brought my puppy Zoey here when we thought she was going to pass away but they were able to keep her over night and give her IV's that revived her and made her good as new. These are caring people that know what they are doing!

Our cat went here for an emergancy visit and they took excellent care of him! Even the follow up visits went well. They explained everything...how to help my cat get better, what meds to give when, etc.

PROS: excellent care
CONS: too far from our home

The doctors are the best i have ever brought my animals to. Dr. Love has such a gentle touch and really cares about the animals.
I'm never scard or worried when i leave my pets there for boarding. The girls up front are great, they really care.
