Went on Saturday evening to try this place out due to the great reviews. I am sorry we spent so much money there. Although the food was decent, the service was horrible! The place was only half-full but it took a long time to get waited on. Other tables were given bread and butter. When we asked for ours -after about a 40 minute wait- we were told there was a "bread shortage". They finally did bring us a basket of bread. Other tables that came in after us, ate and left before we were even served our dinner. When we complained to the manager we got the excuse, "We are so busy". The place was only half full! I had the Halibut stuffed Shrimp - minus the shrimp... I guess there was a shortage of that also.

The good party is that the place is open 24/7. The bad part is that you have to be careful there. In the bar, sometimes you don't get the right change if you pay for your bill in cash. Keep an eye on that, particularly on the weekends.

The food is not your typical bar style food. The restaurant area has a completely different feel from the bar area. The decor feels like you are in a cabin in the woods. The service is not great but it's not bad either. They never comp your food or drinks if you gamble at the bar (like most places do).

Super-friendly staff and generous portions. The atmosphere is very cozy and looks like a mountain lodge. The wine list features 40 American wines (I counted) priced from $13 - $99 so there's something for everyone. We tried the Portobello Carpaccio (8.95) for an appetizer and have never seen or tasted anything like it - just fantastic!. We had the Chicken Piccata (16.95), Bourbon-Glazed Salmon (19.95) and the Cowboy Steak (22-oz porterhouse 24.95). All were great and arrived in a timely fashion. Only bad thing - no room left for dessert! This place serves their full menu 24hrs and many of the menu items are 1/2 price late night. Looking forward to another visit soon.

Pros: Super-friendly staff, Generous portions, Fresh not frozen or packaged food.

Cons: Hard to find

Great late night food. Retired or disabled people unwelcome in the bar area after 11:00 p.m., and they are denied service, but you won't find a better late-night snack anywhere in the Green Valley area!

This just looks like a Bar & Grill with gaming, but I really enjoy the food. The presentation of the food is especially nice and it is carefully prepared and arranged on the plate as it would be in a very expensive restaurant. The desserts are huge and fattening and can be shared. Even though the restaurant is separate from the bar there is no wall to actually enclose the room and yet there was no problem with smoke that such a room often has. This restaurant is the sister restaurant of Tommy Rocker's East Side and the food at both places is great.

PROS: Well-prepared and presented food.
CONS: In a bar (which for some may be a pro).

My parents moved to Henderson last August and live very close to Black Mountain Grill. In the 6 times I've been out there to visit them, I always enjoy a simple meal there. The food is good, the restaurant is comfortable, and, with one exception, the waitstaff is always friendly. I love their asian chicken salad, and their mussels are quite good. I'll be there in 3 days, and I'm looking forward to visiting Black Mountain Grill
