America Dog & Cat Hotel

I have my doubts about America Dog and Cat Hotel. When I picked up my puppy after a recent stay, I noticed his rear end was wet. I asked why he was wet and I was told they had to wash his bottom. It wasnt until I got home that I saw the there was still fecal matter on his butt where they attempted to wash him. So I proceeded to wash him again. My dog is over three years old and well house broken, and I wonder where he got the fecal matter. Was he left to potty in his suite, or did he pick it up from other dogs? Either way, it is totally unacceptable. The question remains. Shortly after we were home, he proceeded to urinate on the carpet.

The daily fee for staying at this place exceeds $80 per day, and you have to pay for the day you drop off you pet, AND the day you pick him up. In other words, if your pet just spends the night, you are charged for 2 days lodging. What a rip off.

Although I have two days remaining on my pre-purchased package, which they refuse to acknowledge (pre-purchased package of 13 days, minus a 5 day stay and a 6 day stay), I will not lodge my dog there again. I care more about the care and welfare of my dog, than him having a TV in his suite.

Before I had a chance to complete this review, I had to rush my dog to the Vet with what amounted to a severe eye infection, and a $139. Vet bill. This was the second day he was back from boarding.

Though we have used this place for the past two years, we have found that they are more interested in selling bigger packages than giving us what we paid for. We booked a special suite and had to fight for it every time we went to board our dogs.

The format of how the dogs are kept busy is good, but you don't get what you expect for the price paid. We would not recommend this place.

I was initially impressed with the facilities. I was going to initially pay for a three day stay for my dog, but was talked in to a larger package that provided additional days free of charge.

I have a 10 year old Great Dane that did not do well during his stay. I think the amount of activity in the open play area combined with his age caused him to have mobility issues during his stay. When I picked him up, I found that he had urinated repeatedly on his bed because he could not stand, and have food and treats left around him in what appeared to be an effort to get him to eat.

I said that it didnt truly seem like it was a comfortable environment for my dog, truly based on his age and lack of mobility, and asked if I could simply pay for the days of his visit. I was informed via a manager that the owner, Chris could not refund any payment since it was a pre-paid package. The owner could have done whatever he saw was fit, and unfortunately felt that retaining money he already received outweighed both my future business and referrals.

It was obvious that my dog simply didnt do well because of his older age, and the ownership simply couldnt see fit to do the right thing. To date, my calls have not been returned by the owner.

CONS: Not truly about the animal care and conditions as much as the profit!

As far as I can tell my cats loved it as well. I dropped the cats off here when my husband and I went away for a long weekend. We went to see the place before actually dropping the cats off. I fell in love with the staff they are true pet lovers which made me feel safe. They kept my two cats together which also made me feel good. The price is a bit more than the vet but to keep them happy instead of in a cage all day it is worth it to me. I will be back.

I was very Impressed with this boarding kennel due to the Idea that your animal is a part of your family.They recieve the best care possble while your gone.They have there own suits, televisions to make them think that they are home.Someone is with them at all times taking care of them.They have an area for dogs so they can play and mingle with other dogs.I would recommend this if your going to be gone for a long period of time.It's a little pricey but in the long run its worth it.

PROS: 24 hour attention to all animals
CONS: the cost of the boarding

This place is really cool, it's like a hotel and daycare combined for you dog or cat. They give you the first day free and free tours before you apply. You can leave your pet there as long as you like. The people there are really friendly and are animal lovers. They offer indoor park and private suites for your dog, and a three story condo for your cat.
