Pep Boys

Unlike the other two reviews of this site I had a great experience. I checked 4 local nationwide name places and this pep boys was the only one that didn't inflate prices and try to sell me extra, unneeded "stuff." Maybe it was because the service manager I dealt with - George - had just dealt with a very unpleasant customer in front of me with astounding sincerity, assurance and manners! {I've been in the service industry for over 30 years and this guy had the patience of a saint with an obviously geniune desire to make his customer happy.} So next time at this location just make sure that you speak with "George." My repair was 1/5 the price quoted elsewhere and is working just great.

I went to this Pep Boys in an effort to try and find the solution to my car problems and only got a laundry list of supposed other items that were in need of repair. All I came in for was a simple tune-up, meanwhile they're telling me I need new spark plugs, new belts and my transmission is going bad. After taking it to my more reliable mechanic, the only other thing it needed was new belts and it has run just fine since.

In addition, when they call to tell you your car is ready, be prepared to wait another 30 minutes to have them finish the paperwork. In all reality your car isn't ready to pick up, but tell you it is regardless and have you wait around in their shop for even longer. Avoid unless you're in need of immediate attention and can't make it down the street to somewhere better.

I went there for a front end wheel alignment for my 2000 Jeep cherokee. The guy told me I had a back tire that was bowing in. He then offered to sell me a tire for $200. All my tires were brand new! He said he couldn't do the alignment with the bad tire in the back! I told him to just do the alignment or I was writing to corporate headquarters to complain of his scam. Most of these places are sadly, just rip out and repair everything they can get away with. Stay away from this place.
