I've been taking my three grandchildren to ACI Pediatrics for over 11 years. During this time we've received excellent care and have a wonderful rapport with the doctors and staff. I just can't say enough wonderful things about them.

.

Here are just a couple examples of the horrible staff:

1. On many, many occasions, I have not been able to get through to the GV office for hours. For example, my son got sick right after the swine flu alerts went out, and I called for HOURS and no answer, nowhere to leave a voicemail or options to speak witha nurse.. NOTHING.

2. The DOB on my sons chart was incorrect for over 4 months! They even gave my son his first round of shots thinking his birthday was TWO months before it actually was, and who knows how far this would have gone had I not caught it myself? A clear sign of poor organization on behalf of the administrative staff.

3. The billing department sent the wrong insurance company a bill for my sons first appointments. I filled out the proper paperwork and verbally warned the front desk that I would be switching insur-ances, and to please bill the correct insurance to avoid future billing issues. Well, much to my surprise, this paperwork was not submitted correctly and I had to dispute a bill from my prior insurance company due to this matter.

4. BIGGEST REASON... A nurse told me to "look it up on the internet" when I asked her what the sickle-cell trait is and how it would affect my son! The office called me regarding my sons abnormal test results, I was unable to come into the office since I received that call at almost 4 PM that evening, and would have never made it across town and back in time. When I spoke with the nurse, she said she couldn't give me any information over the phone, so when I asked "Is this regarding sickle cell trait?" and she specifically told me "no" I was in a panic all night. When I went to the office FIRST THING the next morning, it turned out to be the sickle cell trait and I was upset for nothing. When I asked her questions about the trait, and what effects it will have, this "nurse" actually told me and my husband to "look it up on the internet".

5. At our last appointment with this pediatrician we were instructed to set up an appointment with a cardiologist. I called the cardiologist on June14, 2009 and made an appointment for July 29, 2009. This was the earliest they could fit him in. A woman at the cardiologist??s office contacted me on July 27, 2009 to inform me that they still had not received any approval from ACI Pediatrics regarding our appoint-ment, which was only 2 days away. The woman listed off the days and times of each of her attempts to retrieve the information needed, and who she spoke with, and nothing was done until July 28, 2009, the day before the appointment.

6. Lastly, 4 months after I left this pediatrician my new offfice still had not recieved his Vaccine Records! The receptionist showed me all the attempts made and also who she spoke with, and she never received them.

STAY AWAY!!!

This place is great! The drawings on the wall make chiledren more relaxed-less nervous. They have to seprate rooms, one for ill chredren and another for healthy children. They play movies for children with small play areas. When your doctor sees you, theres another tv with a movie playing on it. The rooms have small games. This makes a fun expirence for children. Plus the staff is very nice.
