We see Dr. Arn every year for our annual exams( we have 4 dogs!) for the last 10 years. When Dr. Arn is not available, we will see other vets in the hospital since we trust them all with the care of our pets. They have always been honest and given us great service for all these years. The staff is always friendly to my family and willing to help us with our needs. My wife and myself have recommended them to our friends for years and we usually run into each other on appointment dates! This is really a family-feeling business in las vegas!

Great service - great company. I never have to worry about whether things are being done correctly, thoroughly, etc.

I have found Desert Inn a bit expensive, but they have all of the latest of everything including difficult to keep on hand medications and these things must be paid for. Excellent staff. Office help could be a bit friendlier. But I can live with that since the overall care is so good.

EXCELLENT VET!!! DON'T LISTEN TO THE ONE HORRIBLE REVIEW BEING RE-POSTED UNDER DIFFERENT NAMES FORM THE SAME REVIEW SITE! Yes, it's on the pricey end, but you are getting the VERY BEST, most up-to-date care money can buy! I have worked for another vet, and I still took my dogs and cat here. I am a 15+ year client!!

i love this place! There is more compassion and caring people in this hospital than you get at most clinics.! I have been a client with Desert Inn Animal Hospital for 3 years. I began bringing in a rescue pet to them from a local shelter for a FREE wellness check and have stayed with them ever since. With 2 more rescues since that time, I have to say, the negative reviews surprise me. I have had such a great experience with the Doctors and Staff there, they are always willing to answer questions and try and educate their clients on issues ( I was impressed that I was able to get some further info on my dogs Thyroid issues from the front desk staff!) The girls have given us great homemade recipes for our sensitive tummy puppies and I have had great interactions with all the people there. The negative feedback sounds like it comes from people that simply want everything for free and think of their pets as a problem rather then part of the family. As with any business, there are always customers that believe they are 'right', when in fact they could not be further from it!

The staff at the front desk is very unfriendly and talks to you in a very militant manner. They are not helpful when you come in with more than one pet. Good luck trying to control two or three pets, specially when there are other animals around. The prices for everything are very high. I have lived in other areas of NV and have used other vet clinics, and by far, this is the most expensive one. I am glad I will no longer be using this clinic.

I have been going to Desert Inn for many years. My friends and family have also taken their pets there for over 20 years. They are very competent and have very good bedside manner. The stories I'm reading that are bad reviews are obviously from bad owners whom haven't established a life time DVM for their so-called babies. You should be ashamed of yourselves for not having a regular vet! Don't bash this Vet hospital for your mistakes. They have the best technology available and always keeping up. Thank you especially Dr. Arn for keeping all my bulldogs healthy and happy over the years! And pricing is more than reasonable. For those upset about the money, shows just how much your "babies" are worth to you. You can't put a price on them even if a second opinion is necessary. Thanks again Desert Inn.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL PLACE staffed with uncaring, incomptent people. If you value the life and well being of your pet, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER take them to this place! If you do, you most certainly will be sorry. We are, and frankly, we're having a really hard time forgiving ourselves for ever taking our babies to these dreadful people. PLEASE STAY AWAY!

Desert Inn Animal Hospital is the worst place you could take your pet, don't take your pet there unless you are ready to put them down, poor vet service, more guessing than knowing. They are all about the money not the pet, I thought you needed to have some compation to work with animals, but not here. Bad place, take your pet and run to another vet hospital.

Your staff obviously has issues. It is hard to believe that such an educated group of Veterinarians cannot figure out how unpleasant their hired help is. I am a very tolerant person, but this was ridiculous! Unless you enjoy down-talking, stay as far away as you can!

No doubt about it, this hospital is bully dog friendly. My puppy, a Red Nose Pit, got her ears cropped here... The staff is very friendly and caring. Keep up the good work. Thank you Dr. Arn!! Much respect, 2 Sweet Girls Janice & Sonya

If you love your pet, DO NOT go here. In short, I was pushed through without any real concern as to what happened to my dog. Every time I called, I waited for a long time just to be told some b.s. Hundreds of dollars later, they sent him home with me, only to have him collapse later that night. When returning, a Dr. Tylor took over and wanted to run the same battery of tests and blood work on him AGAIN. Of course, I would be charged again! She then tells me that she wants to do a blood transfusion! And I would not be able to stay with him, even know he most likely would not make it through the night. I laughed, got my dog and drove him to a competent clinic. Which, by no surprise, he did not need a transfusion, in fact he had a horrible case of pneumonia. Which Desert Inn never saw after doing all those x-rays. It is too bad that they did not take me and my dog serious. He ended up with a fatal case of pneumonia. It should of been caught with all of the so called tests I was charged for. I only hope she loses her license like I lost my best friend of 13 years.

Do not take your dog to Dr. Dan, he is horrible and almost killed my dog. Beware of him, he acts like he knows what he is doing, but my dog was very sick and I took him to another clinic where the doctors were more experienced and they saved my dog. The other doctor said that Dr. Dan had nearly drowned my dog with fluids!! He ended up with pneumonia, but was saved after a huge bill, which I had to pay!!

I went here on an emergency visit. During the days my dog had to stay there, I could not get anyone on the phone to give me a straight answer. He seemed to be passed on from vet to vet. They could not give me a diagnosis, yet sent him home. I had to go back! This time a real young Doctor named Taylor I believe told me that my dog of twelve years was going to need a transfusion and he most likely would not make it through the night! I told her I was not leaving then. She said I was not allowed to stay there all night!!!!!! I loaded my dog up and drove as fast as I could to Salt Lake City UT where they have an excellent emergency center. They told me my dog did not need a transfusion! He was treated for a full week in emergency. He had a huge tumor on his intestine, which Desert Inn Animal Hospital did not find after a couple thousand dollars!!!! They told me my dog would not make it through the night. This is the worst Vet hospital I have ever encountered! If you love your pet, I highly recommend you DO NOT go here for any services.

This place was horrible! I brough my dog in for an emergency visit. Over the next three days, he was passed on from vet to vet. No one could tell me anything. He was then sent home, just to collapse later that night. Brought him back in that night on an emergency visit again. They said they needed to run all the same tests over again that they had just did three days before.

When I took my dog in she was very ill and they were absolutletly wonderful. Actually I had taken my dog in3 times in one day and though we had to see different Vets each time they all seemed to care very much about my baby. Finally admitting her into ICU. I was relieved. I called several times to check on my baby and each time they were kind and happy to hear from me. Finally diagnosed with Addisons disease she was given her meds and recovered. Though she still needs a very expensive shot each month they have actually sold me the meds and needles and showed me how to give them to her myself. This saves me a lot of money overall. They are the perfect example of a vet who cares and isn't just out for the money. I trust them with my dogs life. You should too!!! They are the best in my opinion.

This place is only out for the money.
Took my male cat here due to an obstructed urinary canal. Because of an estimate of $900.00 lowered to$600.00, after I refused to apply for a credit card, because I couldn't afford that much, as I am raising my grandson, I had to have him put down.
Three weeks later my dog strained her back jumping onto my bed, so after a couple days and she was no better I took her to DIAH. After a check up the Vet gave her a shot and some pills for pain. The next day I rushed her back to DIAH because she couldn't breathe. A vet came out to the waiting room and started checking to see how far along she was in labor, I stated she is spayed, which was on her record.
Then after about 30 minutes pasted I saw another Vet and suggested it appears to be an allergic reaction to the meds, he said "no its because you pulled her to hard on a leash or she choked on a ball or food". She hadn't been on a leash in a year, she could barely get the ball in her mouth and she has never choked on food. He then proceeded to tell me he would have to do a "Transfusion to belt out the edema from her lungs". The cost of this would be $1000.00 to $1900.00. Once again, within a three week period I had to have another one of my animals put down because of their extremely high prices. Then two months later a charge appeared on my other dogs chart for a whopping $480.00. There was nothing stating why they were charging me $480.00.
It surely can't be to put a 5lb dog to sleep and saw the Vet for all of 15 minutes out of the 40 minutes I had to wait, after calling in to say I was bringing in an emergency.
I still cry over my babies and feel guilty for not telling them to give me my animals back to taking them someplace else where the Vets care about the animal first and foremost, not the money first and foremost.

The doctors at Desert Inn are great, but some of the receptionists and assistants are quite rude. You can have an appointment and still wait an hour. It seems they are just out to make a buck and don't care about the service you receive. I now go to Sahara Animal Hospital where they know the meaning of good customer service!

I like all staff members and astmosphere, but cost of service is bit expensive.
If you really care your pets , BRING to Desert Inn animal hospital.
People who are really sharp on appointment time, I personally not recommend
this animal hospital. Normally you have to wait at least 15 minutes after your
appointment.

MY RATING is 7/10.

I have used this clinic for three years. We have spent several thousand dollars on our animals at this clinic each year. But after an experience last week I will never return. I found a dog running down the middle of a busy four lane road. I caught her and noticed she had a wound on her side. I took her to the clinic to have her treated. She had a tag on and the clinic ladies called the number on the tag. The child that answered said they had given away the dog but would call the new owner. The clinic WOULD NOT TREAT the dog until this person called them. I sat for two hours and no one called. I left the clinic and went to another vet who treated her and found she HAD BEEN SHOT by a gun and needed surgery. How could Desert Inn Animal Clinic refuse to treat the dog when I said I would pay? The only answer I can think of is that they are more concerned about having to deal with a potentially angry owner rather than the well being of an animal. Unbelievable. The other negative is that the clinic focuses on treating pure breed dogs: we do not need more dogs in this world - we do not have enough families for the dogs we already have. Find a clinic that is more than just a business to make money!!!!

DIAH is the best animal hospital in las vegas. Dr. willey and Dr. Parantela are the sweetest docters. They care about my conserns about my animals. Its a very clean and well maintained hospital with caring people that are there for my pets and my needs. There boarding area is amazing. There one of the only places with air conditioning in the boarding areas. In vegas you need that. Over all there the best in town, with the most love for animals that ive seen...

This is one of the most advanced groups of Veterinaries in the country not just in Las Vegas area. I had moved here from Texas and didnt have a Vet. I left one clinic and my dog was just about to die from congestive heart failure, so I called my old Vet from Dallas and he called Dr. Ard on the phone and then called me back and told me to get to the DI Animal Hospital as fast as I could.
Dr Arn put my dog on oxygen and keeps her for the night. He also call in as special medication that only a few Vets even know about; and had it FedEx in Saturday delivery. There is no doubt that if he had not put my dog on oxygen and ordered the special medication, my dog would have died.
To top it all off the large group of staff are all professional and compassionate.
The Dr. called and checked on my dog and made sure everything was going well.
If you want a great group of Veterinaries that really care and are

Thanks Dr. Arn

I won't go any where else and I raise Boxers. Dr. Arn is the greatest,Dr. Farnsworth and Dr. Lynch are right up there with him!!! Do not go anywhere else for an ear crop or tail dock!!!

Pros: Best ear crop, work with you, freat facility

Cons: lots of vets, son't know them all

Desert Inn Animal Hospital is a great place to take you animals for medical care. The entire staff is devoted to the care of your animal and making sure you are comfortable with being there. I drive 15 miles past many other vets to take my dog there. I have worked with all of the dr. and they are all great people to work with. Everyone of them spends the time with you to make sure your pet is cared for in a way you want to be treated yourself.

My pet was in need of a dental prophy. I called many locations in town and found that, unlike most of the veterinary hospitals in Clark County, Desert Inn only utilizes LICENSED veterinary technicians to follow the dental from start to finish.

I got a puppy from Puppy Planet. It was very sick when got him, we realized when we gotten him home. Long story, read my review for them. The pet shop had told us to take him to was this vet for a checkup. They told me he had bordetella. I asked if he'd been sick when they saw him the week before. I was told no. The vet agreed with me that he was a puppy mill dog. It seemed the whole appointment was devoted to trying to sell me products. Then when I told the pet shops owner what the vet had said about the dogs origins, she lied to him when he spoke with her, making me look like the liar.
I later learned that the pup had been treated there for bordetella there from a pet shop employee.
They then refused to give his records to my vet when he wasn't responding well to treatment. They protected the pet shop and puppy mill operation he came from with their refusal and put my little pup's life in jeopardy! I think this was shameful!
THANK GOD for The Mauer Clinic!! They saved his life!!

PROS: large clean clinic
CONS: are they a vet or a reatail shop?

Desert Inn Animal Hospital, Dr. Arn in particular, saved my dog's life after I'd messed around with half a dozen incompetent vets. He operated to remove bladder stones and discovered she had a bowel disease. Since then, he is the only vet I trust with my dogs' care. It's not real convenient to my house and there is sometimes a wait but it's well worth it. I will also say that they don't price gouge. In fact, Dr. Arn often waives his office fee. I highly recommend them.

PROS: Outstanding care, clean, professional, caring staff, emergency care

My parents have taken their pets here for years and have been great to them. Especially in emergencies. However, I've taken my pet there and have had extremely long waits. A few ladys in the staff are rude. Overall, I wouldn't recommend them because there are much better animal hospitals out there.

My poodles are comfortable going here. The staff is friendly and courteous. The only thing I don't like about this vet is particularly the wait. I have to take my pets in about 20 mins early to make sure that I get in at least 10 mins after my schedules appointment. Also checking out the wait is very long too. I enjoy the doctors there, they are very nice and seem to care for my pets like their own. I would recommend them to anyone.
