I have been shopping at Best Buy since they opened there doors back in the 90's. I have always had the best experience shopping at all the best buy stores until I moved to Reno and started shopping at the South Virginia store. Most of the time I have been helped with friendly service and very helpful customer support and have spent over $50,000.00 dollars at this Best Buy in the past 5 years. I also will note that I am a sliver platinum rewards account holder with Best Buy. I was shopping at the Best Buy on Sept. 9, 2012 with my six year old we were looking at purchasing one of the 3D flat screen TV's when we were approached by a security agent in yellow and asked us to leave the store because we were swapping stories on previous orders and store policy is that you are not allowed to discuss previous products to any store associate is why we were asked to leave the store. Also not only were we asked to leave this store by this security guard (Joesph) but that we need to leave right now and to shut my mouth and to leave or he would call the police all this in front of my six year old son. We left and as soon as I got home I contacted the manager of Best Buy (Riley) and he had no record of this happening and he said they do not throw people out of the store and the security guy (Joesph) has no authority to ever throw anyone out of a Best Buy. I have made a formal complaint to the store and to the head quarters office. They said they would send us $50.00 gift card for this incident. I am not sure if I will be able to step foot again into Best Buy after being treated like a criminal I am having a hard time sleeping, and my son went to school and shared with his class that we were thrown out of Best Buy. I would like to see this kid (Joesph) fired for his actions but Best Buy has told me this is corporate and he will be disciplined. I am still shaken from this and want the public to watch out for this store.

I have visited this place 5-7 times in the last 3 mo. and have left unsatisfied each time. Although the support staff is friendly , they will disinform you about products just to make a sale ( i research the product before i buy) and will try to shove down accessories down you r throat. Please be cautious in dealing with this best buy.

At one point or another we all need computer repair help and I am no different. I found myself in need at the worst possible moment. In the middle night, when everything is closed and the night before a report is due. I called Geek Squad online support for help and was charged for the $199 virus removal service. They connected to my pc and attempted to remove the problem. After a couple of hours and a whole lot of coffee and nail biting they call me back and say there is nothing they can do. This time, the guy I spoke to had a heavy accent and seemed to be calling from overseas. And long with this and the fact they said the virus is too embedded to be removed without causing further damage and system instability. I get off the disappointing phone call and am still sweating because this report is 35% of my overall grade in this course and I absolutely had to have this done in the morning. I run a quick Google search for a solution when I find SecureRemoteSupport[dot]com who provides online services and have a No Fix No Pay guarantee. Wow that would be nice if Geek Squad offered the same promise. Within an hour they had diagnosed the virus and had removed it completely for $105. And best of all, I didnt lose any of my work and my operating system was completely repaired. Apparently the Geek Squad isnt as good at their job as secureremotesupport[dot]com is. I really appreciate their diligence on fixing my issue and suggest others think twice before contacting Geek Squad to fix their computer.

I have teenage twin boys who like the internet a bit too much. They MySpace, and Facebook the hell out of their laptops. They shoot aliens and war craft like medieval mad men. They are perpetually plugged into these machines so much that I would swear the iPod appendage they have grown actually seems normal. So it was bound to happen that they would eventually need their notebooks cleaned up and swept for virus. We took them to the Geek Squad and they told us it would be a few days and they would call us when they were done. A week later of the boys alerts me that he needs his computer for a paper he has to write. I call the Geek Squad and inquire about the computers when I am told that they have been extra-ordinarily busy and that it would another few days. I asked for a specific number of days and was told that he couldnt give me and exact figure. So we waited another 5 days and I call again. Still there is no progress so we head down to the store. When we arrive was ask for our property back and leave immediately. When we get home I look up some alternatives to the Geek Squad Run Around. I came across Secure Remote Support and I actually didnt have to take the computers anywhere. I just visited their website and selected a button on their website and gave them permission to connect to the laptops over the internet. And away the technicians went working on their computers remotely. It was like there was a virtual technician in our home working on it without having to have a stranger in our home. Within 2 hours the computers were scan, swept and sped up. Their service was fast, friendly and efficient. It was everything my Geek Sqaud experience was not. Thanks Geek Sqaud for wasting over 2 weeks of our time and introducing me to Chris at secureremotesupport-dot-com.

This place is ok but as far as customer service it sucks big time. I had a stereo system installed the following day the amp fell off from where it was installed. Then on the floor of the drivers side i found about 6 screws that where not put back in!! I was pissed cause I had to go back twice on my lunch break talked to a manager and didn't even get an apology I spent over 3000. I was getting ready to return everything, but that's was more time waisting on my part. The immature people that they have in the back are the worst I'm sorry.

If you want to buy the cool and don't worry about service then this store will not dissapoint. However if you are looking for a fix to a problem after the sale I wouldn't recommend it. The staff is over taxed and clearly under trained for the responsibility of cusotmer service. If you don't belive me just try calling them!

PROS: Stocks a good selection of electronics
CONS: Not a competent soul in the box

Truly, this buisness has it all and the traffic in the store sure shows it. One has to often wait in lines to check out, but it seems worth it. Why?? Because they have such a wonderful inventory and I always find something that I need or can't live without. Their selection and prices of their DVD's are always extremely good
